Hack for Lineage II camera rotation: Do mouse warp only when right mouse button
is pressed
I am the reporter of bug 11089.
I have tried the "Hack to force mouse warping", which enables mouse warping to
be done always. But in Lineage II, this leads to inability to move mouse
pointer away from center of the screen to click any of the UI buttons, click on
surface for movement, etc.
In Lineage II, mouse warping is only needed whenever right mouse button is
pressed down, because this means the use of camera rotation mode. So, this new
hack achieves the perfect behavior of camera rotation in that particular game.
But of course, this is not a correct fix, and just a temporary solution for
those who need just one game to function properly.

Is this still an issue in current (0.9.52 or newer) wine? This sounds like it
might be a driver bug.

This seems to be a duplicate of bug 6963 (or the other way round, but that bug
is older).

Yes, the bug is still present.
The patch was not accepted (enabled only the available extensions at that
time).
Alexandre want a patch that allow every non-empty extension.
(And he is correct: In the meantime we have *.exe and *.sys)

With Wine 0.9.51 and earlier, the described problem was fixable by setting
"IsKeepMinFrameRate" to "True" in game file Option.ini. This is equal to "Lower
detail" in game Options dialog. It dramatically reduces the amount of graphical
detail used by the game. Textures, models, motion, effect details, everything
is being reduced to much simpler and lower-quality variants. After this, the
game was starting correctly, without the described error message.
With Wine 0.9.52, "IsKeepMinFrameRate=True" seems to be no longer required to
start the game. It now seems to start fine in all cases.
However, with some combinations of surrounding game world landscape/objects,
and probably the number of characters simultaneously on screen, and the amount
of graphic details selected in Options dialog, the game can crash to desktop,
with the exact same error message which is mentioned in bug report. On average,
I think this happens once in two hours of gameplay.
I use Radeon X800GT with the free DRI drivers (Mesa 7.0.2).

Summary: Lineage II: camera can not be rotated more than ~180
degrees in one mouse drag
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.52.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: roman(a)rm.pp.ru
In Windows, player can rotate the game camera in Lineage II by pressing and
holding down the right mouse button(RMB) and then moving the mouse indefinitely
- there is no limit on how many degrees or how many turns the camera will make.
If one holds down the RMB and continues to move mouse in one direction, camera
will make 360 degree, 720 degree (etc.) turns.
But with the currently released version of Wine (and all earlier versions which
I've tried), camera in this game can be rotated only about ~180 degrees from
its initial position. After that, it hits some kind of a hard "limit". To
rotate the camera further (for another 180 degrees), player has to release the
RMB, then press down the button again, and only after that, continue to move
the mouse.

The bug is still present in wine-0.9.52:
http://source.winehq.org/WineAPI/DllFreeSplMem.html
current output:
memory [In] PTR to the memory allocated by dll AllocSplMem.
expected output:
memory [In] PTR to the memory allocated by DllAllocSplMem.
