Thanks, Austin. It is now working OK.
As you say, the application is now no longer available for download, but I
still have the original .exe, and it does work fine.

Or, in this case, perhaps
$ rm -rf .wine
$ wine iexplore url-to-your-app
Presumably this won't work because Wine's iexplore is
not yet as activeX friendly as you need it to be.
If so, the "right" thing to do is probably to
purchase a copy of Crossover from Codeweavers;
they offer commercial support for exactly what you're
trying to do, I think.

This is actually what I've used so far but this should be set up automatically
by default. The end user shouldn't have to worry about winecfg and the
hexadecimal color values in an obscure config file. gtk-qt-engine does it
beautifully.
