yes, largely it doesn't matter what is being printed on stderr, it's only there
for diagnostic purposes and may sometimes warrant some investigation

normally work with wine when you see this endless flow of errors?

I will make tests on Debian sid in a few days.
In the meantime I can say only that on Ubuntu 7.10 it behaves as on CrossOver a
year ago: starts but the sound doesn't work:

Yes, still works... and still prints a similar message, many times, could be
normal.
