Summary: Support for HKEY_DYN_DATA\Config Manager\Enum registry
tree
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.45.
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jjk3(a)msstate.edu
Please populate the HKEY_DYN_DATA\Config Manager\Enum registry tree. This is
needed by some games to detect the hardware on the running system.
For example, EA's Need for Speed III includes a 3dsetup.exe program that
queries HKEY_DYN_DATA\Config Manager\Enum\*\HardWareKey to detect graphics
hardware.

Summary: Solidworks Crashes when requested to open file.
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-user
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: schuh(a)berkeley.edu
Solidworks crashes when opening a new file or trying to save a new file.
(I installed Solidworks from a local copy of my Solidworks DVD. The DVD isn't
centered, so I don't like using it more than I have to.)
Steps to reproduce:
Start Solidworks with "wine sldworks.exe"
Click the Open button on the toolbar or the save button.
A dialog box that says "An unsupported operation was attempted." pops up.
Hit OK or the X in the corner of the window.
Solidworks crashes.
I ran wine with
WINEDEBUG=fixme+all,warn+all,+relay,warn+all
and captured the output. The resulting file is 740M. What of this file should
I include to help solve the problem?
I tried to put debug markers in the file through the "Put 'Debug Mark' in Debug
Log" option in the wine menu right before opening a file, but the crash was 2
million lines below the debug mark, and didn't help me find the problem or any
good information.

CityOfHeroes.exe then exits gracefully, so no backtrace is generated.
To ensure clarity - the crash is not on entering the costume *editor*;
character creation works fine. It's on attempting to display the window that
shows you all of your character's costumes and allows you to select one.

The problem is that the "chessmaster 9000" game can't display most of it's
graphics. When you enter to the game room or class room no 3d graphics are
displayed because of problem in the IWineD3DSwapChainImpl_Present function. The
messages in the console are:

err:d3d:IWineD3DSwapChainImpl_Present Cannot change the destination window of
the owner of the primary context
The err message is critical. Because the destination window of the primary
context can't be changed no graphics are displayed in the destination window.
The fixme message is problem too because if the error with the destination
window is corrected the graphics probably won't be displayed correctly.

I use Lotus Notes 7.0.2 under Wine 0.9.53/Ubuntu 7.10 and it works great.
I usually launch it when I start my computer and close it at the end of the
day. Nevertheless, Lotus Notes sometimes loose the connection and display the
following error :
"Unexpected TCP error"
First thought : Dude, if it was expected, it's not an error.
Then, I consult the log and I can see :
Unexpected TCP/IP error func: 0006h error Notes: 1C5B, NTI: 1000h, Stack:
00002728h
The only solution to that problem is to restart Lotus Notes.
The problem happens usually one, sometimes twice a day. It can happens after
one or two hours or you can stay the whole day without being confronted to it.
On the same computer under Windows with exactly the same Lotus Notes, there is
no problem. That's why I think it might be a wine bug.

I think this started with wine 0.9.42. When I run *any* application the window
decoration is missing.
Eg the top bar which you can grab to move a window, or close with [x],
minimize, etc. For these windows ALT+click move doesn't work either. Some of
the applications regain this window decoration after a while and then behave
normally. Until then these windows are always-on-top and have no icon in the
taskbar.
I am running compiz right now, but I don't think this is the issue, as in wine
0.9.41 things worked just right. See the attached screenshot for what I mean.
I will revert back to 0.9.41 to double check this, but not now as utorrent is
busy downloading...eh..linux isos.

Throw In launch error screenshot
I'd like to play to this old-school soccer game but it doesn't run in Wine...
I mean, after creating a new wine folder to use I have to set Direct3D ->
DirectDrawRenderer to OpenGL (if I don't do so, wine stops immediately saying
me that I've to change the DirectDraw render mode)...
After this modification, I can launch the Throw In exe file and for few seconds
I get the game (loading) splash in my screen while the music is playing, then
an «Error» pop-up message appears with the «Memory Access Violation» error
(as you can see in the attached screenshot)...
The music continues to play until I press the «Ok» button, then all crashes!
The only messages I've in my terminal are:
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps OpenGL implementation supports 32 vertex
samplers and 32 total samplers
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps Expected vertex samplers + MAX_TEXTURES(=8) >

fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x34f840,0x00000000), stub!
I've tried to enable also a more accurate debugging output, but I don't see
relevant messages... Anyway I could attach it, if you need!
You can download this game (version 0.85) at http://tinyurl.com/37lhzh (0.86
update at http://tinyurl.com/36cjdu)
Just one note... If I try the version 0.8 (http://tinyurl.com/3ymj42) the
application behavior is different: when launching the exe the game menu loads
and I can navigate it until I select to play... Then the game crashes giving
the same output I've already described.
I'd have to say also that another game I can find in the same site (Total
Control Soccer), always written in the same language give me this error :(

gmail relies on bold working to show which
conversations are unread. In Firefox 2.0.3,
this doesn't work at all unless you install
corefonts.

backtrace log
Attempting to load one of those cellphone unlocker proggies for Windows makes
Wine crash after several attempts at loading OpenGL. Some kind of weird
looping, which doesn't normally happen. The crash happens after several
messages related with ntdll.dll.RtlPushFrame.
Worth fixing? Very likely if it also happens in bigger programs like AutoCAD
and Photoshop. If not, I guess don't bother for now.
Backtrace available as an attachment.
