Just use CP_UNIXCP where appropriate. There shouldn't be any show stoppers
to do it now. CP_UTF8 might be a not correct encoding if the system locale
is not UTF-8.

Thanks for finding the reason of the bug. Now we just need to figure out
a proper fix for this. Do you know which vkey values WoW tries to convert
to characters and that fail?

Thank you. I will attempt to do a build with the patch(es) in place to see if
they correct the running of RegSvcs.exe. This may not happen until late Monday
in the United States.

The schedtool workaround works for me as well, although it does seem to have a
noticeable negative impact on performance.
Info:

I had this bug and I'm running on a dual core processor (Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
using 32-bit Ubuntu).
WoW usually locked up with this bug in BGs when I was making a fast turn with
the camera or when the BG ended or other things suddenly happened.
The Schedtool suggestion fixed this bug completely for me, at least so far (2
days playing lots of BGs). And it has fixed WoW locking up when I went out to
desktop with Ctrl-Alt-D and tried to get back in WoW.
So thank you, Stephan Wienczny!

The fix: Before you can type the registration-code, you had to move the
Font-files "cour.ttf" and "courbd.ttf" in the directory "/usr/share/fonts/.../"
to another place. You can move this files back after entering the code.

Hello,
this is not a regression. I already explained the cause here:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10467#c20
Its an unfortunate combination of MSI service installer string deformat bug and
recent SCM changes (service startup management).
Just a warning ... only use 0.9.53 for testing this stuff.
Latest GITs are completely unsuited ... err better say unusable for this task
due to recent extended ntdll FPU context changes (nasty side effects including
the disability to debug *any* stuff).
Regards

Error log WINEDEBUG=+relay from running RegSvcs.exe /bootstrapi
Zipped error log from running .NET 2.0 regsvcs.exe /bootstrapi and it appears
that there is a deadlock loop and that pressing a single Cntl+C kills the
application. This is better than 0.9.52, where the process crashed. Appears
to be a regression to 0.9.49 like activity.

Hack to make ß key work for bindings in WoW
Just confirmed that the bug exists when using the german keyboard layout and
found why.
World of Warcraft uses the result from MapVirtualKeyEx in MAPVK_VK_TO_CHAR mode
when binding an action to a key; if the result is 0 (or, apparently, if the
result is much larger than 255), it can't bind the key.
The attached patch is an ugly hack to make the ß key work.

With 0.9.53 without Mr. Foucht's patches, RegSvcs.exe does not complete, but
does not crash. Will try with various WINEDBG combinations to see if it is
deadlocking.
