Yes, it does in 0.9.52:
open a synth and add some modules; click X to close the synth window, or the
whole app, and the fireworks begin.

That's not the goal. I did not close this bug. I simply asked for someone who
was familiar with the bug to test it. Those bugs that were closed where either
reported fixed (and closed as such) or had not received a response when more
information/logs/etc were asked for (and were closed abandoned - NOT fixed).
This bug is still an issue, and you confirmed this, so obviously it won't be
closed (until it's fixed that is).

Ok, just to be clear, what do your dll overrides look like? This would be the
first game where native dplay dlls don't work.

In either case, this bug is still here with 0.9.52 no matter if you like it or
not.
And I'll update the version just in case some one 6 months later will want to
close it because it's such an old bug report.

Vitaliy, it was decided on wine-devel to go through and verify all these old
bugs. Many people don't respond for months on end, or were not asked to do so.
The only way to solve that is by asking users to verify that their bugs still
exists, and close them if not. Otherwise, the number of bugs we have will
simply continue to grow.
See

The same happened to me but now it looks like it is fixed, I don't know why.
But in the introduction of Team Fortress 2 and Half-life 2 Episode 2 it keeps
happening. In the introduction is not a big problem, though.

Yes it is still a problem. Stop spamming bugzilla. If that's the way Wine
decided to close all bugs - then just select all that weren't touched in 6
month and delete them. Less noise same effect - quietly swiping problems under
the rag and getting ready for all wonderful 1.0
GL with getting rid of all the bugs... in anyway possible...

The crashes are gone, but now the "Find Text" button
never finds anything. To repeat:
$ wget http://www.jsware.net/linux/riched.zip
$ wget http://activex.microsoft.com/controls/vb6/richtx32.cab
$ wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
$ rm -rf ~/.wine
$ sh winetricks vbrun60
$ cd .wine/drive_c/windows/system32
$ cabextract ~/richtx32.cab
$ wine regsvr32 richtx32.ocx
$ cd ~
$ unzip riched.zip
$ cd "RTB test"
$ wine RichEdTest.exe
type in a word that's in the big text into the search box,
and then try the "find text" button.
If you install native riched20 like this,
$ wget
http://download.microsoft.com/download/winntsp/Patch/RTF/NT4/EN-US/Q249973i…
$ cabextract Q249973i.EXE
$ mv riched20.dll riched32.dll .wine/drive_c/windows/system32
$ wine winectrl
and set them both to native,
the app's find and "color test api" work much better.
Golly, looks like a meaty riched bug to work on for somebody!

It seems to use about 2% to 5% little CPU then when tested in comment #2 So
instead of 100% is is more like 70%
Tested with this morning git. Created a new prefix and install firefox 2.0.0.11
then install the plug in.
Going to this url http://machunter.org/Imaging%20Infinity%20Show1.html has a
version that starts in the paused mode.
Note without a virtual desktop the plugin will go to the full screen mode and
backspace (page back) can be used to regain the desktop. This seems like a
regression as none of the right click menus now show but I have not run it
since I changed to Ubuntu. I will investigate the new problem and fill a bug if
I find a regression commit.

The app gets a bit further now, complaining
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {438da5e0-f171-11d0-984e-0000f80270f8} not
registered
...
Component 'dhtmled.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a
file is missing or invalid
According to
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa663363.aspx
that UUID is provided by triedit.dll, which is in the same
SDK that dhtmled.ocx is. Copying it into system32 and regsvr32'ing it
fixed that problem.
Next problem is a null pointer reference in triedit.dll:
fixme:msimtf:CActiveIMM_Create ((nil) {08c0e040-62d1-11d1-9326-0060b067b86e}
0x1faef34)
fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no instance created for interface
{08c0e040-62d1-11d1-9326-0060b067b86e} of class
{4955dd33-b159-11d0-8fcf-00aa006bcc59}, hres is 0x80004002
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x59a051f0
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
That UUID is IActiveIMMApp, so perhaps this is a gap in
our msimtf implementation or its ecosystem?
(You can also reproduce this by running VBEdit.exe from
the same DHTML SDK. I retrieved a copy from an archive
site; here's the sha1sum of the copy I retrieved:
3aeaa4b04f87d6bc4abe1c8e65963b51741bb520 dhedsdk.exe
1452151 bytes.)
Anyway, the original problem seems solved.
Closing.
