Summary: EM_POSFROMCHAR does not include selectionbar
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: richedit
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alex(a)thehandofagony.com
When the ECO_SELECTIONBAR style is set for a richedit control, EM_POSFROMCHAR
should include the selection bar size. However, sending EM_POSFROMCHAR for
character 0 returns 0 as the x co-ordinate with Wine's richedit.
I'll see if I can't fix this myself.
As for a testcase, this will be noticeable in builtin wordpad once I send the
first ruler patch. The left position of the ruler is determined using
POSFROMCHAR, so with native richedit it will be moved a distance from the
leftmost window edge, while with builtin it won't.

Install Firefox 1.5.
Look at the text on the welcome page that says
"…but we recommend updating to Firefox 2".
It is rendered horribly now, with poor widths and bad horizontal spacing.
Installing corefonts before installing Firefox works around the problem.
wine-20071025 didn't have this problem (possibly because
it didn't try as hard to get fonts right).

const struct IUnknownVtbl *lpInternalUnkVtbl;
IUnknown *pUnkOuter;
LONG ref;

this piece of code is not surrounded by #ifdef's but does use a libxml2
variable type: xmlNodePtr
This causes cryptic compile errors if you don't have libxml2 installed.

Summary: CSLU toolkit doesn't create menus when you run its
setup.bat
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: Other

OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Keywords: download, Installer
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
The CSLU toolkit installer is a complex
thing that downloads all sorts of stuff.
When it finishes, c:\program files\cslu seems to
be there ok. Inside that directory is a setup.bat
that creates start menu entries. Running that
batch file with
wine start setup.bat
does indeed create .lnk files in
c:/windows/profiles/All Users/Start Menu/CSLU Toolkit
but no menu entries are created in ~/.local/share/applications/wine.
Running
WINEDEBUG=+shell,+menubuilder,+process wine cmd /c setup.bat
I see
trace:shell:StartLinkProcessor starting L"winemenubuilder.exe -w \"RAD.lnk\""
...
warn:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker Unknown link location
L"C:\\windows\\profiles\\ALL_~DGY\\STAR~DZT\\CSLU Toolkit\\RAD.lnk". Ignoring.
GetLinkLocation calls GetFullPathNameW() to get the full
path, but it also needs to call GetLongPathNameW(),
or the names won't match its hardcoded list of allowed locations.
I'll submit a patch that fixes this.

Other times, I get non-fatal crashes with messages like the following:

ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0
ALSA lib pcm.c:2144:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default:0
this is caused by wine trying to use default:0 as sound device which doesn't
seem to be allowed according to
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/pcm.html
Using plughw:0,0 also causes problems when people are using an dmix plugin to
allow sharing the input and output. As the dmix plugin uses the output in an
exclusive way. So it's eighter wine audio or dmix/alsa audio.
When using "default" instead of "default:0" the messages disappear and wine
uses the default path as defined in ~/.asoundrc

Starting with yesterday's git (I think--might have been day's before) training
and recognition have suffered tremendously in DNS 9.0 Preferred.
I believe this has to do with the sound level, but I am not sure.
Yesterday, (Thu 20071220) when training a new user, the microphone volume had a
great deal of trouble adjusting. When it finally did adjust, training went
poorly, often showing a red bar to indicate that the sound was too loud.
Today using the above git, the red bar appears less frequently but it still
shows up. In addition, recognition has suffered, and the program sometimes
hangs after a long utterance.

On Windows, you can just click somewhere else, and the moment the popup menu

keyboard focus.
