The screenshot referenced there is from less than a minute into the demo. Also, and I only just noticed this, but shadows are not rendered when using FBOs, while shadows are rendered when using backbuffer. Looking back, the reason why I didn't notice this before is that shadows weren't rendered at all with either ORM in the past.
