Why is this marked as a regression? Did it work at some point? If so, please
run a regression test [1]. If not, then the regression keyword needs to be
removed.

Summary: Lotus Notes window disappears when using Compiz
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.53.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ploum(a)fritalk.com
I'm using Lotus Notes hard client 7.0.2 with Wine 9.53 under Ubuntu 7.10 and it
works fine. I launch it from an icon in the Gnome panel.
Except if you enable Compiz.
If Compiz is enabled, Lotus Notes will start normally but, as soon as you
change your virtual desktop, the LN window will disappear. The processes are
still running so it seems to be only a matter of display.
If you run Lotus Notes from a gnome-terminal instance (instead of the
gnome-panel icon), the window will NOT disappear !
But, instead, the console will be constantly filled with :
err:win:DefWindowProcA called for other process window 0x10020
err:win:DefWindowProcA called for other process window 0x10020
err:win:DefWindowProcA called for other process window 0x10020
This take a lot of CPU but, besides this, Lotus Notes works normally.
This bug seems to be very common :

Wine 0.9.50 and on should have the fix. 0.9.54 is the newest, and unless you
have a good reason not to, is the version you should use.

It would give an idea of where to start looking, so yes. Run a regression test,
using nov 24 as the good and 0.9.54 as the bad. Or was Nov 24 also bad? If so,
regression testing wouldn't tell you too much, you'd need to know some point
where it worked...

My Half-Life 2 death match also crashes with Wine 0.9.54 after a seemingly
random amount of time. However, I have yet to try CSS or the font size hack
patch.

Yes. I still see the XFCE4 taskbar at the bottom of the screen while running
Wine 0.9.54 and fullscreen Half-Life 2 with the XFWM4 window manager. It also
affects me when I'm running Compiz with the Emerald window manager.

I can confirm the same problem on my machine:
-AMD Sempron64 3000+
-1 GB RAM
-ATI Radeon x600 [RV380]
It also happens when I alt+tab a bit too much. Happened since I got this new
card, suspect it has to do with the r300 series.

Yes, the problem with memory leaks in AVP1 when entering game level / exiting
to menu (aborting the game) still exists in current git wine. By repeating
these steps the process reserved memory footprint is growing and growing every
time by a certain amount. The amount of memory leaked seems to be correlated to
resolution. Seems to be few hundred kilobytes at small resolutions and a few
Mbs at 1280x1024x32. So I suspect maybe memory of front/back/z - buffer is
leaked or something like that. I've already spent a good deal of time trying to
figure out what happens, but no luck so far. It can even turn out to be driver
bugs. I'm currently experimenting with mesa software libgl - it's reproducible
on it too, so maybe I can find what memory is allocated and not freed and
where.

After copying the font files to windows/system32/fonts it starts, and page
rendering is basically working. However the toolbars, menu bar and window frame
look broken, mostly black. The window cannot be resized or moved.

Wine does not have automatic mechanism to register it's mime-types with system.
Nor import system registered mime-types. This is something for the
packagers/integrators to think about.

Is there any chance that double-clicking an attachment open the document with
the corresponding mime-type application under Linux ?
If I receive a word file, can it open it with my native OpenOffice ?
(From an integration point of view, it makes perfect sense. Even if you want to
use Word with wine to open a .doc, you would simply have to register "wine
word.exe" as the handler for .doc file)

This means that Wine dereferences NULL pointer and crashes. Please try

Just curious--what version of Wine would this fix be included in? I'm running
0.9.46, set to Win2K, and during O2Kupg installation I still get no button that
causes the drive select combobox to open (see screenshot). I was rejoicing at
the message that this problem's been fixed, so I installed Wine fresh yesterday
and tried it, but it's not behaving differently from before.
Maybe I've been concentrating on the wrong part of the problem, as in there was
indeed no combobox to select drives from, but I hadn't actually gotten to that
point yet because I don't even have the button that *triggers* the combobox
which has now, itself, been implemented.
(Sorry to posed on a closed/fixed issue.)
