Still present in wine 0.9.52.
Anything I can do to track down the problem myself?

Im not sure whether this bug is obsolete by now, as the situation changed (got
worse) with newer wine version.
I tried again today with wine 0.9.52 and this is the result:
run with already installed Mankind:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x33f13c,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_Release (0x146a38) Device released with resources
still bound, acceptable but unexpected
fixme:d3d:dumpResources Leftover resource 0x145fd0 with type
1,WINED3DRTYPE_SURFACE
fixme:shdocvw:PersistMemory_Load (0x14b740)->(0x41c5ec 9c)
fixme:shdocvw:OleObject_Close (0x14b740)->(1)
Uninstall was successful, but did not remove starmenu program group and links
(*.lnk) and exited with 255. Did also not remove registry entries. But thats
not wine's fault.
Now with a fresh installation:
During installation only a few fixme's:
fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub
fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub
fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub
fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub
fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub
run:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x33f13c,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_Release (0x146a38) Device released with resources
still bound, acceptable but unexpected
fixme:d3d:dumpResources Leftover resource 0x145fd0 with type
1,WINED3DRTYPE_SURFACE
fixme:shdocvw:PersistMemory_Load (0x14b740)->(0x41c5ec 9c)
fixme:shdocvw:OleObject_Close (0x14b740)->(1)
and exit 0
Im also addin an appdb test result...
This is pretty similar to what I get with other wine versions. I did have a
little more success with a wine version from 2004 and lots of native dlls, but
never really got it running.
This bug should probably changed to "Mankind wont run", as I dont really know
where to start looking for the actual cause and therefor cant file any good bug
report.

The bug is already there. Its already the thing with:
fixme:storage:StorageImpl_Commit (0x3aa4fe0 0): stub
It can be avoided using native dlls. I currently use the following config:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,rpcrt4,msvcrt20,msvcrt,msvcirt=n"
In this, the ole32 and rpcrt4 are required to get a fuctional copy/paste
function. The msvcrt20,msvcrt and msvcirt are for pdf exportation which is
already not work, but this bug #3612.

I tried writing a test which creates some registry values with RegSetValueEx
and then reads it with RegQueryValueEx but it doesn't reproduce the bug.
It's because wineserver stores all registry data in memory and only saves/loads
it when starting/stoping and the bug is related to the way REG_MULTI_SZ is
stored in system files, so it can't be reproduced in a single test without
forcing wineserver to restart or reload registry data.
