Running wine tax_Online-Banking_trial_buhlde.exe says that it wants to install three packages first: 1) .net 1.1 2) .net 1.1 german language 3) mdac 28 On my gutsy box, doing $ sudo dpkg -r msttcorefonts $ sh winetricks fakeie6 mdac28 corefonts mono12 and then set the .net 1.1 registry entries (gee, should winetricks mono12 do this?) $ cat > mono.reg <<_EOF_ REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v1.1.4322] "Install"=dword:00000001 "SP"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\policy\v1.1] "4322"="3706-4322" _EOF_ $ wine regedit mono.reg convinced it that .net 1.1 and mdac28 were installed -- but it still wanted to install the german language pack for .net 1.1. It's a program for remote desktop accesing. At the appdb it has platinum rating, but this is not right because it only works one way. You can acces other peoples desktop but they can't acces you. This is what I did while the trace was running. - Starting Teamviewer.exe - Acces by another computer - Closed the connection on my side. - Closed the program. The other person who is trying to acces your desktop won't see any display. So platinum rating isn't right. I'm running openSUSE 10.3, GNOME, with the newest wine. I probably wasn't clear about the problem. The application fails to install, but as I mentioned in that bug report, that can be overcome by first copying MFC42.DLL to the windows/system32 directory. The main problem is that the program does not initialize properly when launched. The initial error that is displayed implies that Strip.ocx is probably still not working properly. But to reproduce the main problem, run the demo program, click File, Open, and then choose one of the settings files. At this point additional tabs should show up on the main screen, which show all the settings available to that vehicle. Without at least this much functionality, the application is garbage. (it is just a .NET dll version checking tool, basically). It works with mono on linux, and it works with win32 mono on wine; but with microsoft .NET Framework under wine, (i.e. running it "plain" rather than through win32 mono, if one has both mono and .net framework 2.0 installed), it dies with a few thousands of "err:ole:CoWaitForMultipleHandles Unexpected wait termination: -1, 87" among other messages which scrolls off screen. I have seens the CoWaitForMultipleHandles message under completely different contexts (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12259#c2) This seems to be related to how the .Net Framework interacts with wine, since the executable in both mono linux and win32 mono +wine work as expected. The source code of the small C# program is attached. I can provide a small executable if it helps - the small C# program is a stripped down version of BeanSprout in the sourceforge project (and I am the project admin, so I can upload it there). The first log is a WINEDEBUG=+seh. The next problem was another crash, Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0xfc91f030 in 32-bit code (0x7e48f819). =>1 0x7e48f819 apts+0x1() in ole32 (0x0034f9d0) The patch at http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10134#c18 got past that, and let the installer complete. The NBC Direct installer's requirement of installing Windows Installer 3.1 seemingly shouldn't happen, since when unrelated application Microsoft Dynamics GP demo (from http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/gp) is run, it detects Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 prerequisite as already installed. The E_INVALIDARD is because of some garbage provided to SetPriorityClass. There is a bug in either oleaut32's serialize_param or deserialize_param - serialize_param treats VT_USERDEFINED/TKIND_RECORD as inline data, while deserialize_param makes of it a pointer to an allocated buffer. As the VT_PTR is absent, I would except the first is correct (also it seems this is what ngen is expecting). The attached patch makes the class sent to SetPriorityClass constant - always 0xffffffff. This is still incorrect. By the way, the Default install path for this program is Program files/SpeedProject/SpeedCommander 12/ instead of this wierd Program Files/Default. I have tried manually changing the install directory to the correct one but it never copies the correct file into the folder. I have attached all pics from the install process for reference. Not sure if this install is tied to the bug from 11490. Wave Out Devices list VIA 8237, but not CA0106. Running WINE Apps have sound coming out of Disabled VIA device and not the CA0106. ALSA is the only enabled sound option. OSS Option lists C-Media Electronics CMI9761A+, which I believe is normally the driver for many on board audio chip sets like the VIA set. Specifically right about when it would load the graphics for the characters themselves. Additionally you can bypass this screen by selecting your character from the Sony Launchpad. The game will load up like you are in game but right as your should see in game graphics - it again crashes. I've tested in with a clean install of Wine 0.9.61 on NT4, Win2k, WinXP & Win2K8. All of them crash with no differences in behavior. Attached is the output from wine when launching Planetside. There are two dumps. The first (~line 202) is actually from the Launchpad - it seems to have no effect though. The second crash (~line 910) is what kicks you out of the game. Same thing happens on version 9.54 and 9.55. Hello, I am using wine-0.9.61 Arch Linux, latest version Wine is set to behave like Win2000 At first I was getting an error message on the console saying that mfc42.dll was missing, so I googled it and got the copy from this website: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc42 I hope this is satisfactory information, please let me know how to get any more info that may be required. Once the menu is open, I can navigate it with the keyboard just fine.
