Until wine version 0.9.60 setup files from the link below would not work. Then
in version 0.9.60 they started to work perfectly but in version 0.9.61 it is
back to not functioning again. I can re-install version 0.9.60 and it works
but fails when 0.9.61 is re-installed.

Summary: Flash wIndow initially displays off screen

Version: 0.9.59.
Platform: PC

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: DouglasYMan(a)Yahoo.com
CC: DouglasYMan(a)Yahoo.com
What I did:
I was working with Flash 8 on a external monitor. I shutdown flash, then
disconnected the external monitor.
When I started Flash back up, the work window was nowhere to be found (The
splash logo came up and the process was still running).
How I worked around it:
1. Re-attach external monitor, and restart Flash. Flash then displays on the
external monitor.
2. Emulate a virtual desktop, at a ridiculous resolution, so it looks like both
monitors are attached. Now when Flash opens, it will be in one of the corners
of the virtual desktop (If you would like; you can move the window, turn off
virtual desktop, restart flash; and it will position its self where you moved
the window to).
What I think happened:
Flash remembers where the window was last positioned, when it is closed. When
you open it, it tries to position its self where it was closed. If you had a
larger display size, when you last ran flash, it is quite possible that Flash
will now open off the screen (and you won't be able to Alt+Tab to it and move
it, without using wine's virtual desktop).
Desired behavior:
If Flash tries to start off of the screen, it gets repositioned to your current
display size.
FYI: first bug report, sorry if format of ticket is odd. Thanks!

Oracle Forms 6i and Designer 6i under Wine 0.9.58 and almost everything went
fine. I'm able to run Designer and generate forms. The Forms Builder runs fine
also and is able to compile modules as well. On the final step when I try to
run a compiled form (*.fmx) with Forms Runtime its main window just blinks for
a moment and Forms Runtime crashes and generates its standard report

I have windows version mingw32 (g++ (GCC) 3.4.2 (mingw-special) installed in
~/.wine/drive_c/mingw32. It looks like mingw tools like "reimp" can't launch
each other (path for c:\mingw32\bin is specified in registry). I.e. I can use
"wine mingw", "wine reimp", "wine dlltool", "wine as", but reimp can't find
dlltool, dlltool can't find "as" and they fail with messages like
"
reimp: dlltool: No such file or directory
bash-3.1$ g++ (GCC) 3.4.2 (mingw-special)
"
According to debug output (added as attachment), problem occurs in _spawnve
function, which doesn't search for ".exe" version of arguments. (not sure if it
should, but I believe that mingw worked fine with previous versions of wine).
wine was compiled from sources into packages, with default flags.

this in the OpenFileMapping call.
The code below *incorrectly* succeeds on WINE but fails on Windows XP.

h = OpenFileMapping(FILE_MAP_READ, FALSE, "Global\Foo");
m = MapViewOfFile(h, FILE_MAP_WRITE, 0, 0, 0);
=== END EXAMPLE ===
Basically I was opening the mapped file READ-ONLY, but was then trying to
create a writable mapping to it.

I'm using the WineHQ Debian packages on debian unstable.
U3 "smart" USB disks have a fake CDROM on them with some windows software for
managing portable apps. I wanted to run the program (U3 Uninstaller) that turns
that feature off. To download the uninstaller:
1. Visit http://www.u3.com/uninstall/default.aspx
2. Click "Remove Launchpad"
3. Click "Submit and Continue"
4. Click "Download the Uninstall App"
5. Save the file.
Running the executable from there gave me a window with almost nothing on it
(screenshot attached) and the below fixme/error log. The box in the upper left
closes the window.

In Windows, programs can use wmi object to gain information to certain statics
about the processor, and so on. Information from "/proc/cpuinfo" (in Linux) and
so on need to be used to mimic wmi object output that Windows uses. At the very
least, wine should give an output of 0's when wmi objects are retrieved, so
that the program doesn't crash.

Ventrilo will eventually hit 100% CPU usage after using it for some time. That
time can be within minutes or after several hours. At that point, mic input
ceases to work, though I can still hear others. The Ventrilo application
itself won't quit when closed once this happens, though killing it with signal
15 or 9 does work. I'm using Wine 1.0 with an Audigy 4 card on an AMD64 system.
Another AMD64 system with an Audigy 2 card exhibits the same problem. I've
tried all variety of winecfg audio settings to no avail.
After changing to my on-board nvidia soundcard I haven't noticed the problem
occur again, so it appears to be an interaction with Audigy (emu10k) sound
cards.

Normal console output from wine run (no WINEDEBUG)
Using (unpatched) GotY version of the game "No One Lives Forever".
I didn't find a patch for the GotY one. I suspect it's already patched.
Issue: Long audio samples get truncated. This happens for example with the
intro sequence music or when characters have conversations. Audio is simply cut
off at the end. Pretty bad if subtitles are off.
Going to attach the console output. Nothing suspicious there.
Setting component to directx-dsound since I'm pretty sure that NOLF uses a
dsound audio backend.

With Wine 1.1.3 I am no longer able to install any MSI based version Word
Perfect Office. I have tried all Wine development versions up to 1.1.7 without
success. By contrast, these version of Word Perfect Office install OK with
Wine 1.1.2 and back to Wine 1.0.0 and earlier. So this is a regression.
The InstallShield installer reports:
"The wizard was interrupted before Paradox could be completely installed."

I have run a 'full regression' between Wine 1.1.2 and Wine 1.1.3. The end
result of which was:

I believe that during the second regression I was able to install successfully
using builds against commits made between the two shown above.
I tried installing against the end result of the second regression run. Each
attempt failed. I then attempted the installation using WINEDEBUG=+relay in
order to collect a detailed log for submission. The installation was
successful. I ran the installer again without the WINEDEBUG=+relay and it
failed with the InstallShield wizard claiming it had been interrupted.
Installs are done using a script that starts by deleting .wine to ensure
consistent, valid results. The scripts installs winetricks corefonts wsh56 for
Word Perfect Office 11 and 12 and winetricks corefonts wsh56 gecko fakeie6 for
Word Perfect Office X3. I have used this script for testing purpose since Wine
1.0.0.
Trials against Wine 1.0.0. through 1.1.7 were run in kvm/qemu virtual machines.
A new clone of an up-to-date Ubuntu Hardy was used for each Wine version. The
Ubuntu variant is Xubuntu - an Xfce desktop under gdm. I used SDL to display
VGA output rather than a VNC session.
The regressions were run on a real machine also with an up-to-date Ubuntu
Hardy, but the Kubuntu variant - KDE desktop under kdm. For the sake of
completeness, XDMCP was used to log in to the main server from where an ssh -X
was used to login in to the machine on which the regression were run and the
installations attempted.
I use CC="ccache gcc" to cut down build times. The second regression run was
not expected to compile anything but, since the bisection was not the same, I
guess it must have.
Sorry, but trial versions of these old releases of Word Perfect Office are no
longer available for download.
Any suggestions as to how I can get some information that might be more helpful
?

Summary: Pokerstars: active window jumps a few pixels if an
action is asked from user
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc3
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.pokerstars.com/PokerStarsInstall.exe
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jwdelaat(a)gmail.com
Since I upgraded to wine 1.0-rc3, whenever an action is needed while in play at
a table, and the big buttons jump up instead of the checkboxes (users of this
program will know what I mean), the window "jumps" a few pixels in the
direction of the upper left corner of the screen. If you don't manually
reposition the window every few games, it might just jump across the borders of
the screen. Not only is this quite annoying, since this hasn't been the case
with wine 0.9.26, which I used before, but it also makes me just a tad seasick
:)
I tried creating a backtrace using gdb, but gdb crashed before Pokerstars
couldn't even connect to it's server.
Is there any other debugger I should use, or is this description clear enough?
