It looks as if some logic is trying to be used so that the window would move into the adjacent workspace since this only happens if you try to push the window close to the border. End result is that the window disappears from current workspace but doesn't appear in any other workspace. Expected result would probably either be that the window would be bound inside the workspace or then it could be freely moved between workspaces. It is available from their site, and selecting offline mode will let you into the client without an account. Free trial accounts are available and may be needed for full debugging, i don't know. After the login window login, the client starts and pops up two Exception windows. (Class: OLE error 80004001 Type: EOleException) I'm not sure if this is the main problem. The client is missing most features, attempts to access them though it's menus generate the same exception window. The program does not crash, but it simply returns "0-0" as the locking code which indicates that wine cannot accesss the areas of the system that would normally return unique serial numbers from which the locking code would be generated. The program uses SentinelLM code for it's licensing platform. How do I narrow down which devices/files the program is trying to obtain data from? Under Wine, the popups are created in the appropriate places on the screen, but the contents of the popups is always blank. The sizes are consistent with their Windows equivalents and both have pale, white, or gray backgrounds. It is the contents of the popups that is the problem. Tide station map popup: this popup should contain the name of the tide (or current ) station closest to the cursor, when it passes over indicated tidal stations on a world map. The names are extracted from a database of tide stations and are shown in a scrolling window created as part of the tidal station selecton process. That is, the names are known to the app. They are not shown in the popup. Tide status popup: left-clicking on the main window's tide graph in graph, or realtime format, in any one spot, should produce a statement of date, time, and tide level information in a popup. It does not. Tide prediction time popup: under the realtime format, it's possible to create two intersecting lines (a horizontal line at some tide level and a vertical line at some time of day, respectively, intersecting at the tide level point for a given date and time, and bounded by the inside of the window frame). A popup with the time of day is attached at the top of the vertical line, with the popup's left vertical side directly adjacent to the vertical line and the top, horizontal side flush with the inside of the window frame. The popup is drawn, its contents are not. Bug 11562 and Bug 11714 report, respectively, the Tide status popup and Tide station map popup bugs separately. I installed patch 1.1. I start a game vs the Computer (Bots) with default settings on Area 22 (but High Graphics Detail). The game is loading, but suddenly the music stops, the loading screen is frozen, no cpu usage. The game itself says: Spawning entities: 100% (Log attached) I can load other maps successfully, but then they freeze short after I join the game: I had that problem on the ET:QW Open beta client too (freeze at loading) - the line I remember is: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x601d9eb0 *** Could that be an error in ET:QW that doesn't appear on every system(, but more likely on wine/linux-systems (because it isn't tested on such systems),)? I don't know anyone else who encounters this problem. After entering that Activation Code the app continues start up but crashes part way through : wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xff01000f at address 0x1002ac0 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Windows with tabs would not usually allow selecting the tabs, etc... Fedora 8 came along, I upgraded as the F8 fanclub was making out F8 being the next best thing to invention of the wheel. I tried Myob11 on it and it worked! I was able to install all the old data from the windows system. We were able to input receivables, create invoices, print stuff, do the bank stuff, tax stuff, etc... The accountant was using it and happy. This honeymoon lasted about 1 month. Then... First-off it wouldn't print Invoices, just a blank page, I thought I had a bad printer. Then I realized there were other issues with the tabs on some windows didn't work. Some of the bank info wasn't accessible. The accountant now refuses to use Linux for anything but letters, email and solitaire. I told her tough, get used to Linux because this place isn't going back to M$, period. I've installed several other accounting programs made for Linux, but she still hasn't decided to take the effort to learn them, she's holding out for MYOB. I'm not set up for, nor do I understand how to do regression testing. Wouldn't know what to do if I found something, either. I really don't care how much trouble Linux is or how little how understand it...there is no way in hell we are going back to M$, even if we have to send all our accounting out to a service. So, yeah, it sure would be nice if you geniuses could figure out why it wouldn't then why it did and then why it won't work anymore!! If it makes a difference, we use a network printer, hp L7780. Follow up is wintrust (.inf file signature validation). The _SFX_CAB_SHUTDOWN_REQUEST workaround will be most likely part of later winetricks recipe until wine properly supports FILE_ATTRIBUTE_HIDDEN. By default WineD3D uses the back buffer for offscreen rendering because FBO support is still buggy in Wine and the drivers. However, this can lead to corruptions like these. If AUX buffers are available they are used, fixing most of the problems. However, fglrx doesn't support aux buffers. Based on yonnie's post it appears it used to work, someone needs to do the testing of prior versions (regression testing) and find out when it broke, or if it ever really did work. The installer downloads the needed files and after finishing the download says that an error occurred immediately. This leads to douling in functionality, incompatibilities and limitations.
