After running for an indeterminate amount of time, the system tray icon
disappears. This behavior was not present under Wine 1.0.1 or 1.1.8, however
since updating to 1.1.9 this behavior has begun to exhibit itself randomly. The
icon never comes back until I terminate and re-execute the program.

The summary pretty well says it.
Linux kernel dmsg reports 4 Microsoft SideWinder GamePad detected.
dinput_test.exe also reports 4 Microsoft SideWinder GamePad detected.
Running Atomic Bomberman only reports 2 Microsoft SideWinder GamePads
The game ships with DirectX 3.0a and was designed for Windows 95
Back when I had a windows machine, Bomberman did work with 4 GamePads, so the
game can support 4.
