I encountered a rather interesting problem with gpstrack - it actually checks
whether invoking help is successful or not, and currently the htmlhelpW() never
return success.
Most applications I have seen so far isn't bothered by the lack of a successful
return value - win32 R (the starts of my involvement with the htmlhelp code...)
checks but simply output a message on its console and keeps going; gpstrack
actually checks and has a popup windows saying 'can't launch help' - which
somtimes is behind and if one doesn't acknowledge it - or can't see it because
it was pop'uped behind the main application, it would look as if the help
window
is stuck.
I think htmlhelpw() needs to lie about being successful, even if the code is
incomplete.

Yes. I just tested it with Wine 0.9.59, Ubuntu Gutsy, Mapsource 6.13.4 and a
serial connection to a Garmin eMap GPS with firmware version 2.75. Downloading
from the GPS works, but uploading doesn't work at all.
If there's anything I can do in the way of testing, etc. to help resolve this,
please let me know. If this one miserable bug were fixed, I wouldn't have to
carry around a copy of Windows on my laptop. Thanks.

Is this still an issue in current (0.9.59 or newer) wine?

If it gets stuck have you tried to minimize and maximize the viewer afterwards
with the black full screen bar?
It doesn't crash anymore for me there are only problems with minimizing but
that could be fixed through the procedure mentioned above.

I can confirm that this does not occur in Windows. Only when it is run in Wine.
