Summary: Master of Orion 2: intro movie video stops when moving
mouse cursor into window
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-multimedia
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bunk(a)stusta.de
Wine 0.9.42 and 0.9.43 have the following regression (up to 0.9.41 it works
fine):
The intro movie video starts normally.
It runs until I move the mouse cursor into the Wine window for the first time.
After this the video no longer runs, and it doesn't run again when leaving the
Wine window with the mouse cursor.
The Wine window contains a freeze image of what was shown when the mouse first
entered the Wine window, and after switching in FVWM to a different virtual
desktop and back it isn't redrawn.
When also enabling sound in winecfg the sound of the intro movie continues
running normally although the video has stopped.
Clicking on the left mouse button inside the Wine window for aborting the intro
movie and getting into the main menu of the game still works.
How to reproduce:
$ wine --version
wine-0.9.43
$ rm -rf ~/.wine
$ winecfg

Summary: Mackie Tracktion gui is very cpu hungry
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ireneshusband(a)gmail.com
The audio output of Mackie Tracktion is extremely choppy when (and only when)
the GUI is visible. The choppiness is much worse at lower latencies (using
jack/wineasio), so I presume that this means the cpu is under very heavy load.
To reproduce this:
Go to http://www.mackie.com/products/tracktion3/index.html and download and
install the demo. You'll also need to have wineasio for this.
Start Jack and then Tracktion. Play the demo track "Spiralling".
What you will probably hear will be very choppy indeed. You will probably also
see a huge number of xruns.
Now switch from X to a virtual console (ctrl-alt-F1). The choppiness
disappears. On my machine (a 2.8GHz P4) when I run top from a virtual console I
find that Tracktion uses between 45% and 70% cpu time while playing
"Spiralling" at 10ms latency. However when the gui is visible it stutters badly
even with a project containing nothing but a single wav file or a single
undemanding vsti plugin.
I have experienced this problem both on an Ubuntu Gutsy system and a on
recently installed Gentoo system.

Somehow when ${libdir} was expanded, some quotes were left off,
or something.
It kind of looks like the variable expansion is happening inside mono.

000e:Call ntdll.strlen(00155bd0 "C:/Program Files/Mono-1.2.5.2/lib")

so presumably it's mono that is screwing up here.

Summary: Mod4win crashes when trying to start the mixer
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc4
Platform: PC-x86-64

Stderr
In the final version of the program Mod4win, 2.40, the program crashes when
trying to start the mixer by pressing the button that says "Mixer".
The program was written for Windows 3.1 and the final version was released for
free by the author and is available here:
http://pjeantaud.free.fr/mod4win/english.html
In this program you can set up an external mixer program to run when pressing
the Mixer button. However, if you don't have a mixer configured, what is
supposed to happen is that a window with an error message comes up. Instead,
the program crashes.
It works when you have a mixer program selected in Setup. The program only
crashes when you press the button without a program selected. You can show
this by selecting, for example, Notepad.exe as your mixer program and pressing
the Mixer button.
I ran this with the win31 version setting and with other version settings as
well and it crashes with all of them.
I am attaching my stderr output.
This was actually tested with 1.0-rc5 but I don't see that as an option in
Bugzilla so I chose 1.0-rc4 since it is the closest one.

problem occurs under wine 0.9.60 or 0.9.59. However, it works fine with wine
