Summary: GIT of 16.11 Exeption becaus of VBA while analysing a
text
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: HP
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: yolande(a)haneder.biz
While analysing a text using Workbench, Trados is fully and correctly counting
the words, however is throwing an exception at the end.
Here is the wording on the logs:

fixme:advapi:DeregisterEventSource (0xcafe4242) stub
Word: the add-in template (.dot file) is invalid.
Note: Is is only counting the words in the 1st try. On the second try it is not
counting anymore.
Problem is only with doc files (Workbench is unformatting .doc files to rtf).
Counting rtf files is fine.
With rft files it is not crashing, after the exception (.doc files) it is
closing.
Attached the .dot template.

I have been using the wineprefix from 0.9.44 where I could install IE and Gecko
(not working in 0.9.49).
I don't want to add this in the bug list from the .net component since I can't
be sure where it actually come from but so far I have never seen anybody with
this bug on the installation of .net 2.
This had been seen on the installation with 0.9.49 of .net2 on a prefix from
0.9.44. Maybe next time I can confirm it for a new prefix once the IE can be
installed again (at the moment I get a message of an older IE already installed
when I try the setup of IE6, which is not true).
You can find the log as attachment.

Hi,
I've been using Ubuntu for ar least 2 years now and I think Wine is a really
great project. That said, here are 2 bugs that, known to me, have always
existed :
My computer use an Nvidia 7900 GS and I've installed proprietary drivers. I use
2 screens and I have setuped the X server as "Twinview" (doing sudo
nvidia-settings). I have no problem in the desktop nor to start native 2D/3D
Ubuntu apps in full screen.
When it comes to start an application that runs in full screen (Warcraft III,
Half-Life 2 for examples) Wine don't understand that my server X is in
"TwinView" mode and applications are unusable. To use Warcraft III, Hlf2 or so,
I need to configure xorg.conf using sudo nvidia-settings, deactivate
compiz-beril and then restart X : that means loosing everything that is started
on the current session...
I also observed in general that using full screen apps (again Warcraft III or
hlf2 as example), using alt + tab doesn't work.
In every matter, thank your all for your effort !

I'm using Kubuntu with KDE 4. When I have Wine apps running, I can alt-tab into
them, but they don't appear on Kicker (the KDE taskbar) as native apps do. This
makes them rather inconvenient to get at and may cause problems for users who
aren't familiar with alt-tab.

Summary: HMM IV game support: fullscreen is actually not so full
and graphic is slow.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc2
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: t3st3r(a)mail.ru
While HMM IV windows-based game starts and generally works, I got 2 issues
here:
My config:
Kubuntu 8.04 x64, 5Gb RAM, Acer AL 1722 1280x1024 LCD attached to ATI x1300
PCI-E card.Proprietary ATI driver used to enable 3D and acseleration (default
version installed by Restricted Drivers Manager).
The issues are following:
1) Game has options to specify screen resolution to use and whether to use full
screen or not.The issue is that when I'm selecting 1280x1024 and full screen to
get full screen (which is fastest and most comfortable), HMM IV window getting
sized to fit full screen BUT menu bar still appears on the top of window,
therefore overall window area is smaller than 1280x1024 and gameplay is
affected (bottom part of screen equal to menu in size is not displayed). In
Windows this corresponds to 1280x1024 without fullscreen setting. With
fullscreen setting active window menu is hidden and game window takes whole
screen.Actually I can't make HMM IV to work in true full-screen mode.Attempts
to toggle full screen are not successful.Window displays menu bar even when
fullscreen setting active. However it should be hidden and actually this menu
bar only appears when game runs in windowed mode.Probably something not handled
greatly.
2) Also, game graphic and animation is quite slow.Maybe because this
not-so-full screen rather than fast and truly full screen DirectX accelerated
"window" (I'd noticed that full screen is a way faster than windowed mode).
