Nothing has done in this part of wine so we are getting exactly the same
backtrace with wine-1.0-rc4 as over one year ago.

Looking at it from a developer's point of view, it is really, really hard to
fix this on X11, as it's just very different from Windows in that particular
area. Looking at the age of the bug, I think it shows that this one is hard to
fix.
Now, there's two ways to make this better. First of all, you could go and help
with Wine programming. Secondly, you could pay someone to fix it. Adding more
"Can somebody please fix it" comments on the bug is not going to help at all.
We _know_ it's an issue. We _know_ StarCraft is still a very popular game.
(Heck, some of us play it as well) It's just a huge amount of work to fix that
one correctly and we don't currently have enough developer time to throw at
this.

Log of installer aborting
Attached a log of the installation of DejaVu X. You can download a free 30 days
demo from www.atril.com
This is a .NET application, but it's launching the .NET on its own, you just
have t to unpack the zip file and launch Setup.exe (on a side note, the .NET
installer is also here silently ending with error 1603 like bug 10384).
I will also attach a picture of the error message.
>From that point, although the installer is crashing, the software is able to be
launched but does not go far (will be dealt in the next bug)

The program which exploits the bug
The getch() function does not get arrows, home, end, ins etc. in wine console.
I've written a program which exploits the bug, run it on wine console and on
Win Vista or some other Win versions (not tested) and press some arrows or home
or something. You'll get the picture. I hope :)
The program is compiled in Dev-C++ 4.9.9.2
It uses conio.h and libconio.a (which will be uploaded in a zip)
Source will be uploaded too, although its fairly small

Yes, just the same behavior. It does not freezes, as at bug opening, but gets
slow like 1FPS.

Summary: unable to open .fla files using flash 8 or flash mx
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc3
Platform: PC

Status: UNCONFIRMED

unable to browse for .fla files when using flash 8 or unable to open
I'm unable to browse flash 8 .flas. When trying to open .flas nothing shows up
in the directory window for me to open. Even when doing an all files directory
listing. This happens intermittently. This is a pc with wine 0.9.59 and kubuntu
7.10.
When I am able to browse .flas, I get an error when trying to open them.
I've even copied the .flas to the wine drive_c folder to see if that would make
a difference but it didn't. All of the .flas that I have are in file format
flash 8 or earlier. I even tried another pc with 8.04 installed and that didn't
make a difference. Oh yeah, I can create and open new files from scratch but
can't open existing ones from flash and cartooning books for tutorials that I
need to work on. I'll try opening the same files on a windows xp laptop but I'm
pretty sure I won't have a problem on the xp machine.
* Update: I'm able to open the files using a xp machine.
Using Kubuntu 8.04 and wine 1.0 RC3 I still can't get .flas from 2+ animation
books to open.
I tried Macromedia flash 8.0 and a trial version of flash mx.
Both flash programs give me the same error.
Wine .0.9.59 and 1.0 give the same error.

This still occures as of wine-1.0-rc3.
The common denominator in error messages was:
Pango-WARNING **: couldn't load font "MS Shell Dlg Not-Rotated 8", falling back
to "Sans Not-Rotated 8", expect ugly output.
