Shin Megami Tensei Online, as the name suggests, is an MMORPG, and a Japanese
one at that. It's one of those free-to-play types, with optional real-world
payment for certain items.
Many things work flawlessly -- installation, upgrading, and the like, but it's
when one actually tries to play that problems arise.
As you can see by the screenshot, a few moments after starting the game, a
message box pops up; clicking OK shuts down the program. Although the boxes
visible in the screenshot are rather less than enlightening, I was able to grab
the actual error message through an error log created by the program:
(1.163)例外エラーが発生しました(10009)[19,81,14]。真・女神転生Imagineを終了します。
...or, in English, "(1.163) An exception error has occurred (10009)[19,81,14] -
Imagine's Shin Megami Tensei Online will now close -"
Oddly, running the program on a computer that's under a heavy load (by, say,
using a 'noisy' WINEDEBUG setting) lets one actually get in-game... but the
error still eventually occurs, but with different numbers after the 10009.
Also odd is that turning off Vertex Shader Support in winecfg stops the error
from happening altogether. However, this disables 3D graphics, which makes the
game a little hard to play. ;)
(A warning for those who want to duplicate the error: it requires the
downloading of a couple of gigs of data, first to install, and then to update;
you'll also need the ability to input Japanese text through an IME if you want
to get past the character creation screen. The error still happens in the
latter case, however.)

Using KDE 3.5.7, I can move the main Steam window by dragging the title bar.
However, if I try to do it by holding down the alt key and dragging the window,
it would snap back to its original location when I release the mouse.

Summary: Rome Total War 1.5: Mouse movement at screen borders
does not cause desired behavior
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc3
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tjlyon(a)gmail.com
This happens with Rome Total War ver. 1.5 as installed from the Gold Edition
pack. It also happens in the Barbarian Invasion expansion.
On the campaign map, moving the mouse to the borders of the screen is supposed
to move the campaign map around. However, it only works when moving the mouse
to the top or to the left sides of the screen. It does nothing at the right or
bottom sides.
Similar behavior is experienced in the battle screens. Nothing happens when
moving the mouse to the right or bottom sides, when it is supposed to move or
rotate the view.
This might sound like not such a big deal, but for me it makes the battles
practically unplayable.

Summary: Heroes of Might and Magic V - Cursor error
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.3
Platform: PC-x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown

Worked perfectly in previous version, but now the cursor seems "locked" to
either the top part of the screen or the bottom part, and you cannot reliably
click on anything in the game. This is a regression since previous version.

Summary: Fantasy Grounds 2: display flashes to black frequently
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.2
Platform: PC
URL: http://fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/FantasyGroundsII-
Demo-Setup.exe
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: sebastian.schlingmann(a)web.de
When running Fantasy Grounds 2 the display flashes to black frequently. When
moving the mouse around it sometimes displays the real window content for a
second before returning to black.
Demo is available here:
http://fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/FantasyGroundsII-Demo-Setup.exe
Reproduce: Install, Start, "Host game as gamemaster", "start", move mouse
around in game window
The following wined3d related messages are printed to the console:
fixme:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Add OpenGL context recreation support to
SetDepthStencilSurface
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DSwapChainImpl_Present Unhandled present options
0x32fb60/0x32fb60
The IWineD3DSwapChainImpl_Present message is printed frequently when moving the
mouse around.
I set the severity to trivial because otherwise the game seems to be usable,
BUT as you can't see anything most of the time it is really quite unplayable
with this bug.

Proper look of the status selection menu and buddy list
Buddy list is visible only in the moment it's refreshed and only for fracture
of second. The remaining time it stay compleetly gray. Changing status is
(almost) imposible cause of the status menu options size to small.
(I'm not much in coding but i think that size of those menu options might have
something to do with icons on the left of the option name, eg. default size for
txt-only filed is let's call it "fit to font" while that doesn't aply to menu
option lines with images. But that's just a wild guess.)

Summary: Blades of Exile/OpenBOE crashes when playing certain
sounds if ALSA driver is used
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dlev89(a)gmail.com
If Wine's ALSA sound driver is used, the Spiderweb Software game Blades of
Exile (http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/blades/winBOE.html) or the open source
version (http://info.wsisiz.edu.pl/~kowalsg0/) will freeze when certain sounds
are played, e.g. the sounds played on a teleport or when a character fires a
spell. No error message appears if the game is run from a terminal; it simply
freezes, and must be killed.
This never happens when OSS is used; however, ALSA is desirable, as OSS is
extremely slow for this game.

Patch that makes Myst IV startup
The mouse cursor flickers in Myst IV - Revelation. This problem seems to exist
since at least Wine
0.9.49(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=4240&iT….
It does only happen in-game, not in the menus.
I have to use the patch in attachment, otherwise Myst fails to start(it just
hangs).
I tried to apply the anim-cursor patch, as bad as before.
The following lines are repeating very fast and often:
fixme:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_GetTexture Call to get texture (3) failed
((nil))
fixme:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_GetTexture Call to get texture (2) failed

fixme:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_GetTexture Call to get texture (3) failed

This video shows the situation: http://yafu.wh-forum.de/1882351258/out-10.ogv
Only the flickering cursor is caused by Wine, the other issues(full-screen
flicker sometimes, slow video, itchy sound) are caused by gtk-recordmydesktop.
