I measure huge framedrops when turning around or move in the world, doesnt
matter where. when i stand still i have good 80fps but if i turn around it
instantly drops to 1-5 fps. im not sure if this has something to do with latest
patch from blizzard or with a regression in wine. can someone please verify
that?
oh i almost forgot im using opengl since d3d is totally broken since 2.4

Summary: Richedit always uses word wrap
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.59.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: richedit
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: m.marwedel(a)onlinehome.de
A Richedit field always wraps lines if they do not fit, even if word wrap has
been disabled.
Steps to reproduce:
Place a RichEdit into the Form of a Delphi project (Delphi 5 in my case). Set
WordWrap in the Object Inspector to false. Put some long text into the Edit
field and change the width of the RichEdit while running the program. The text
still wraps. A simple Memo object behaves (instead) properly if WordWrap is set
to false.
This has the following influence:
If there is a long text in line 0, and an 'A' in line 1. The line 0 gets
wrapped. As result: The comparison
if (richedit.line[1] = 'A') then ...
passes on a Windows machine, but fails on WINE.
I think this Bug has been already in WINE since many versions.

Summary: Call of Duty 2 1.00 crashes Wine on hit by enemy
(Singleplayer)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: BSDI
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: 412(a)gmx.net
I use Wine 0.9.58 from the repository on my Xubuntu Gutsy machine. The game
installs and starts fine but when I play the application frequently crashes
when taking enemy fire or being killed. If a grenade or explosion sets off
besides me, the application sometimes shows the "Respawn" screen but then
disappears completely. I can't reproduce this reliably. Sometimes I can play
entire sections w/o any problem, sometimes I take one hit from the very first
enemy and Wine crashes. It seems to be connected to display overlay for damage
or something. As long as I walk around and touch nothing everything is fine.
But when I get shot at or stuff is blowing up around me the HUD becomes brown
blocks (Minimap, compass etc. become browinsh squares) for a fraction of a
second and more often than not the game crashes.
Specs:
Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
Kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
2GB RAM, Pentium 4 3GhZ
Graphics: ATi Catalyst 8.3 on RadeOn X850 AGP (256 MB)
CoD2ver: 1.00 (Retail DVD)
Game Resolution used: 640x480@32Bit:60Hz
Standard Resolution: 1280x1024@32Bit:75Hz
DirectX9 installed through Wine-Doors 0.2
(the crash is not influenced by binary DirectX installation, it still happens
on both DX7 and DX9 mode, Wine native DX7 has the same bug)
Here is a dump of the output of Wine. I started a mission, killed a couple of
enemies and then got blown up by a grenade. As I was dead the brownish respawn
screen showed but right before one of these "War quotes" is usually displayed
Wine crashed.

Castle Fantasia 2 is unable to play the voices present in data3.dat. Other
sounds work basically perfectly (as in the music and sound effects). It is
clear for sure that the voices are in mp3 format inside the .dat file, so I
think this is an mp3 related bug. Wine itself did not report any errors in
regards to this, and did not notice anything wrong.
One other thing to note, is that I copied over the same installation to windows
and the voices were present, so this is probably a wine-specific error.

When running Every Extend, the models for 'characters', yourself and enemies,
do not appear. Effects, such as explosions and text, do work, as long as wine
is run from inside the directory (ie, 'wine /path/to/executable.exe' does not,
but 'cd /path/to/ && wine executable.exe' works), they are even more abstracted

Hi all,
I'trying to have a software from NICE working under wine.
The program is used to manage a legal voice recorder through the network,
unfortunately is not available on the network for testing.
I've installed it on a Debian Etch, with the latest version of wine from
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/. the program is run setting
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=true, and creating /dev/snd/seq to avoid complaints about
missing ALSA device.
The program starts correctly, and as far as I can see, it seems to crash once
it's connected to the device.
I've found a thread (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5407) talknig about
kernel memory splitting, but wasn't helpful.
Please find attached wine log.
Any idea?
thanks, regards

When I use wine to play Warcraft 3, the game runs fine for a while, and then
will randomly freeze or crash giving an error message. Either GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY
or "Not Enough Memory", seemingly at random. This is preceded by a huge number
of sound errors:
err:wave:wodUpdatePlayedTotal ioctl(/dev/dsp, SNDCTL_DSP_GETOSPACE) failed
(Input/output error)
I've attached the results of cat /proc/PID/maps. I'm running Ubuntu 64bit
Intrepid Ibex, kernel 2.6.27-3, with 6 gigs of RAM.
I've searched google for hours and haven't been able to find anything useful.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

FEAR output
When I was trying to launch FEAR: Perseus Mandate demo, everything went ok,
until I've reached the game itself.
First of all - game wasn't starting at all, complaining about glsl bugs (it was
just crashing). I've enabled the DX8 Shader option - forces to use DirectX 8
shaders. Problem went away. Game loads, can see the graphics without any single
glitch, but when you stand up, the game crashes.
I can't reproduce problem with glsl, because even when I've enabled DX9
shaders, it still runs.
The output seems to be related to mp3 decoding
(wine/dlls/winemp3.acm/layer3.c). It's VERY strange, because it contains
non-ascii characters. The output looks like this on terminal and when I pipe it
to the file.
I've grepped out the lines containing "glsl" keyword (because the output was
~2mb and it contained only GL_INVALID_OPERATION statements).
Disabling PulseAudio didn't help. The game seems to be crashing wine, I've had
"Segmentation fault" error once.
Cheers,
Tomasz Salacinski
