has already complained of this issue as well, look in AppDB for more info.

Summary: Wine causes process hang in kernel when running
applications from FAT partition
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.39.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: krzysiek-bugs.winehq.org(a)lichota.net
Distro: Kubuntu Dapper 6.06
Wine: 0.9.9-0ubuntu2 (tested also with 0.9.39 from winehq.org)
Kernel: 2.6.15-29-386 (2.6.15-29.58)
This is kernel bug, but affects only wine, so workaround in wine is easier.
When .exe is run from FAT partition, wine process gets stuck in kernel in "D"
state and cannot be killed.
I have straced the process and it appears it is stuck in:
ioctl(9, TUNIOCGETINFO or VFAT_IOCTL_READDIR_BOTH
This way user can prevent unmounting FAT partition by running wine on FAT
partition.
To reproduce:
1. Mount any FAT volume (for example USB pendrive)
2. Copy some file.exe file to it.
3. Run: wine /media/mydisk/file.exe
4. Wine hangs and cannot be killed.
Possible workaround is to recompile wine with "#define VFAT_IOCTL_READDIR_BOTH"
in dlls/ntdll/directory.c commented out.
I have checked that it works.

During the cell level, the background is neither rendered properly nor erased

a trail. If the player moves his cell, all objects on the screen are
effectively moving in the opposite direction and they all leave trails at once.

Summary: moving/resizing undecorated windows broken in dual-
screen setups
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: winex11.drv
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dima(a)gmail.com
I have a second monitor attached, so my first monitor's top left corner is at
(1280, 300). If I try to move/resize a window that has custom decorations, wine
gives wrong pointer coordinates to the window manager, and the window jumps
down and to the right.
The problem seems to be in X11DRV_SysCommand, dlls/winex11.drv/window.c. It
uses GetMessagePos to get the pointer coordinates - which returns the values
relative to the first screen. Then it sends _NET_WM_MOVERESIZE to the window
manager - which expects absolute coordinates.
I'm not sure what the right solution is, but I have a work-around: subtract the
value returned by GetWindowRect, then translate to the coordinates in the root
window using XTranslateCoordinates. (I've never used win32 or Xlib, so please
excuse my code.)

Example Fonts with the issue
Several fonts don't appear in Phothoshop CS although they're in the
windows/font directory.
First of all:
- Photoshop groups the fonts by family name and style. That's OK.
- Photoshop doesn't show identical fonts (family/style). That's OK, too.
The problem is that Photoshop thinks that some fonts have the same style and
eliminate valid fonts styles.
It happens only with some fonts (arial font and its styles works great).
In Windows system there is no problem.
It is a font problem in Wine:
- For example, if I put only the bold font in windows/fonts it appears in
Photoshop CS like Regular, but in a Windows system appears like Bold.
I think this problem can be a general wine problem with fonts and not a
specific application problem.
The attachment include several fonts to reproduce the error:
- Photoshop only shows Regular and Italic for the ArenaCondensed font (but
fonts include Bold and Bold Italic).
I have more fonts with the problem if you, guys, need it.
Thank you.

Severity: trivial

Installing wine in parallel, like running "make -j99 install", has a high
probability of failure. Errors look like this:
make[2]: Entering directory `.../wine-1.1.4/dlls/wintab32'
/usr/bin/install -c wintab32.dll.so /usr/lib/wine/wintab32.dll.so
make[2]: Entering directory `.../wine-1.1.4/dlls/wintab32'

make[2]: Leaving directory `.../wine-1.1.4/dlls/wintab32'
make[1]: *** [wintab32/__install__] Error 2
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
The reason for this is that the dlls subdir is entered twice, once for the
target "install" as dlls is part of INSTALLSUBDIRS, and once for the target
"install-lib" as required as a dependency of programs/__install__.
The dependency on install-lib has been present in the tree for quite some time
now, and was first introduced by Alexandre Julliard in 2002 according to
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=ada5e6521bfb0ca5
The inclusion of dlls in INSTALLSUBDIRS seems to be a recent modification which
was not present in 1.1.3. It's again by Alexandre Julliard according to
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=b3ec2e5f95e36aa9
The issue surfaced quite frequently on Gentoo Linux, as Gentoo encourages
building packages from source and employing parallel builds for this. See also
the original report at https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237011
There you can also find a patch which seems to work around the problem.

widl doesn't generate code for handling SC_RPC_HANDLE being NULL.
RPC_X_NULL_REF_POINTER is raised for NULL pointers on strins.
So it makes sense that RPC_X_SS_IN_NULL_CONTEXT should be raised for NULL
handle.
