The program was written for Windows 3.1 and the final version was released for free by the author and is available here: http://pjeantaud.free.fr/mod4win/english.html In this program you can set up an external mixer program to run when pressing the Mixer button. However, if you don't have a mixer configured, what is supposed to happen is that a window with an error message comes up. Instead, the program crashes. It works when you have a mixer program selected in Setup. The program only crashes when you press the button without a program selected. You can show this by selecting, for example, Notepad.exe as your mixer program and pressing the Mixer button. I ran this with the win31 version setting and with other version settings as well and it crashes with all of them. I am attaching my stderr output. Alas, generated PostScript fails under ghostscript as well as on a genuine postscript printer. Same application and data runs and prints properly under Win'98 using "PSPRINT.DRV". Attached is a sample WINE-created PS file, a GIF of the ghostview image that is displayed, a list of the ghostscript error messages and a GIF of what was expected to be printed: wine_postscript.ps, wine_T1.gif, gs_errors.txt and T1.gif respectively. Unfortunately the z-order is reversed, and you have to fiddle with alt-tab. Happily, you can work around this with sh winetricks mdac28 The installer struggles through the .net 2 install but thinks it completes successfully (in spite of some crashes). It then starts the inner installer, which asks a few questions, then hangs with no UI visible. Looking at +relay I see it does things like CreateFileA("\\\\.\\SICE",... so I imagine it's copy protected. It seems to come with a .sys file, too. But now when i try to load Y!WE it basically starts and it looks like nothing is going on, but i found there is a blank box in the top left corner that gets a 'stuck image' in it, of whatever was lasted moved over it, i did run it from the terminal and there are a few fixme's through out, but the wine/Y!WE doesnt crash, and i have to ctrl+c from the terminal to end it. The easiest way to trigger it is just to open the faction summary window and click on the senate tab. The game also crashes with a similar error when completing the short campaign. By default Far Cry uses Direct3D9, this causes a segmentation fault upon starting the game. As a work around, `r_Driver = "Direct3D9"` can be changed to `r_Driver = "OpenGL"` in Program Files/Ubisoft/Crytek/Far Cry/system.cfg, though it would of course be better if it worked out of the box. I am attaching the terminal output (30kB->2.0kB bz2), the output with WINEDEBUG=+relay (920MB->519kB), and the output with WINEDEBUG=+d3d (40kB->2.6kB).
