Summary: Trackmania (Nations) Forever doesn't sometimes work with
3d-glasses
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc1
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ape3000(a)gmail.com
Trackmania Forever (and Trackmania Nations Forever) doesn't sometimes work with
3d-glasses. Usually, when I press the 3d-glasses button it applies the
3d-filter and it looks cool with the glasses.
Occasionally when I try to enable the filter or load a new track it doesn't do
anything. The game looks normal, but without the 3d-effect. When this happens
the game is slowed down significally. The slow down fixes by disabling the
effect. The 3d-effects sometimes work again, when I load a new track and then
try again.

Summary: Microsoft Pinball Arcade jittery animations
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.61.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vanessaezekowitz(a)gmail.com
Movements of the ball, flippers, and other objects in Microsoft Pinball Arcade
have become jittery. The effect is similar to what you'd get if you have a
double-buffered game engine that mostly runs normally, but intermittently mixes
up the two buffers (maybe this is what's happening?).
The effect happens every couple of seconds, and lasts for what looks like two
frames. It is easiest to see this artifact when the ball is moving fast (thus
the ball covers the most distance between adjacent frames), particularly across
an open part of the table just after you hit it with a flipper.
Expected behavior:
The game should animate smoothly as it does in Windows and previous versions of
Wine.
Versions affected:
Wine 0.9.45 works fine in this regard, as do some later versions. 0.9.61 and
1.0 rc1 show this artifact. My normal procedure is to install a version of
Wine, test it, and if I discover something wrong, I simply roll back to a
version that I know works (in this case, 0.9.45).

When running under Windows or when the combination Wine 0.9.60/Ultraedit
v14.00a+1 is used then Advanced->Configuration lets the user modify a lot of
settings organized in some sort of menu structure.
Wine 1.0-rc1/Ultraedit v14.00+3 only displays the first menu entry. It doesn't
display the menu itself at all.

Console output from Star Trek: Legacy
I have observed a problem on my KDE desktop where after running a Wine
application and closing it (either normally or killing it), the screen's gamma
is much higher.
This is easily rectifiable when I right-click on my KDE desktop, click
"Configure desktop" and then select "Display" - before even attempting to
change the settings, it automatically reverts back to what it should be.
I've only observed this running Star Trek: Legacy so far, of which there is no
demo, but I have attached my console output from that game in case it is
useful; and I'll update with further applications that do this should I find
them.

Summary: Half Life 2 Reflections reversed on real world
reflections option
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.47.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: abc.mikey(a)googlemail.com
The reflections shown in water in game when in 'real world reflections' mode
are reversed on the far side of objects. That is to say that the reflection
starts out quite vague and fuzzy near the object and gets clearer and denser
further away. The whole thing gives the weird impression of there being a
flatter version of the object sat just on the opposite side of the object. The
most obvious example I can think of to demonstrate this is in HL2 Lost Coast
when you are walking along the jetty at the start of the game you can see a
collection of poles (the ones supporting the jetty) out at sea that slowly
become indistinct as they stretch toward the jetty. These poles move rapidly as
you move because they are always trying to stay opposite the jetty poles.
I'm running NVidia drivers 100.14.19. Wine 0.9.46 & 0.9.47 tested with the same
problem. I have tried it with "UseGLSL"="enabled" and
"OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo" with no real difference.
My system is a:
Athlon64 Dual Core 4800,
Corsair 2GB DDR667,
Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS 256MB,
Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty 64bit
