In Ubuntu 9.04 with wine 1.0.1 through 1.18 I've been having graphics issues.
Textures on character models don't seem to be synchronizing with the animation.
Clothing clips through and on my toon, when it jumps my shield detaches from
the body. I'm currently running Wine 1.1.18 since 1.19 and 1.20 cause the game
to crash to desktop when it logs on to the character or character select. I
have checked all my in-game graphics options and haven't seen any improvement.

This should be referenced to Bug 16001.
Quicken 2007 is accepted by wine and shows in my "C Drive" on Ubuntu 9.04.
Quicken does start and has accepted my files which I copied directly from a USB
stick. (I believe this circumvented the problem I stated in Bug 16001 so that
Bug may still be valid.
Now when I attempt to "Open" the files Quicken crashes (program just closes
with no error message.)
When I restart Quicken I repeat the "Open" process and Quicken again crashes in
the exact same way.
Additional possibly related information;
When I start Quicken I continually receive a screen giving me the choice to be
a new user or be a current user of Quicken. The same problem exists if I chose
"current user." If I chose "New User" the program crashes in the same way
without giving me a chance to load a file.

Test showing similar behaviour
Observation:
Trying to run the launcher for The Witcher (1.4) an entry appear in the taskbar
but no window appear. This is using built-in gdiplus.
Using native gdiplus the window appear.
Investigation:
Reading trace logs it becomes evident that when using wine's gdiplus the
launcher calls CreateRectRgn(0, 0, 0, 0) and then nothing more of that kind.
Ending up with a zero size window. While when using the native gdiplus there's
quite a number of CreateRectRgn and CombineRgn following.
This happens after calls to GdipBitmapLockBits and GdipBitmapUnlockBits and the
window shown when using the native gdiplus is shaped after the background
image, so I assume that the pixel data returned is used to build the shape of
the window.
Based on this assumption and the function calls seen in the traces I have build
a small test which shows the same behaviour (attached).
Looking at my test I've noticed that I get different pixel formats reported
when using native and builtin GdipCreateBitmapFromFile/GdipGetImagePixelFormat
using a RGBA png image.
Also, when requesting PixelFormat32bppARGB the pixeldata returned by
GdipBitmapLockBits have an all zero alpha channel (i.e. the whole image is
fully transparent). In my test this is the actual problem.
It is noted in a comment in the code that GdipBitmapLockBits does not fully
consider format.

I am running Warcraft III Reign of Chaos patched to 1.21a on Fedora 7 x86_64 on
an AMD Athlon 64 with a Radeon X1300. The game runs smoothly but MOST times
when I try to save, the save dialog comes up, I enter a save name, I select
overwrite if applicable, the words Saving Game appear. Now if all goes well
the words turn green and the game continues. If it fails, the words remain
there in white, the sound continues playing, but nothing else happens. If I
overwrote a saved game, that game is no longer in my list of saved games. The
only way out is to wineboot -k -f -s and then to restart from the last
successful saved game. I notice that usually (not always) I can save a game in
the very beginning of the game, and as long as I save again soon it may work.
However, 4 out of 5 times it crashes, making the game very unplayable (if I
need to save -- which I do).

MS Office 2007 installs without problems, but if you try to open a file (eg a
.docx file) from nautilus and the file has a space in its path, MS office says
that it cannot find the file.
The launcher for docx files is
~/.local/share/applications/wine-extension-docx.desktop:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Microsoft Office Word
MimeType=application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
Exec=/usr/bin/wine start /ProgIDOpen Word.Document.12 %f
NoDisplay=true
StartupNotify=true
Example case:
1. Create a document and save it as /tmp/test document/test.docx.
2. Try to open the file from nautilus (wine should have set up Word 2007 to be
the default; if not, select 'Open With' and 'Microsoft Word').
3. MS Word starts up but complains it can't find /tmp/test.docx and
document/test.docx, ie it is receiving the filename as two separate arguments.
On a perhaps related note, you also cannot open the document with the command
line:
wine "c:\\Program Files\\Office12\\Microsoft Office\\WINWORD.EXE" "`winepath -w
"/tmp/test document/test.docx"`"
since Word complains with the same error message as above.
This is on Ubuntu 9.04 (amd64).

Then ExeFile.exe stops running, and I'm back where I started.
If I re-install the game fresh, I do get to a login screen, but there are no
ships (just the flame trails behind them). I am told to install a patch. At the
end of the patching process, the patcher says it needs to reboot. I click okay:
and the program closes, but nothing happens.
It seems - from what I'm being told by an ATi dev on this thread:
http://phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13211&page=4
that this is a problem with direct rendering. Can the wine devs please let me
know if they can duplicate this problem? Contrary to the report on the AppDB, a
lot of people are having problems with this game.
Thanks,
-a

complained about not being able to run snetterm, so I tried it.
Sure enough, it complains
Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version\nFile
"TAPI32.dll", function "lineGetDevCapsW" (error 126)
but looking at +relay, it seems possible this is a diversion, as the
log looks rather like it's checking software licenses right before the
error.
