The BindImageEx stub affects cx_Freeze, which also relies on that function to
find DLL dependencies.
Distribution: Gentoo 64-bit
Wine: 1.1.25, built from source via Gentoo's package manager, using mingw32-gcc
et al.
Python: 2.6.2 (http://python.org/ftp/python/2.6.2/python-2.6.2.msi)
cx_Freeze: 4.1
(http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cx-freeze/cx_Freeze-4.1.win32-py2.6.msi?…)
The simple_cx_Freeze attachment contains a minimal example of this bug.
Using Windows:
1. python setup.py build
2. The build directory contains all non-system files neccessary to run the test
application, including python26.dll
Using Wine:
1. wine C:\\Path\\To\\Python\\python.exe setup.py build
2. The build directory contains all non-system files neccessary to run the test
application except python26.dll
During the build, there are many 'fixme:imagehlp:BindImageEx: ... stub'
messages.

I've been testing the demo for a few versions - the demo starts up and works
fine as 1.1.26 (and for many previous versions as per the AppDB).
Can we confirm and get it closed?

Sorry ignore this comment, and the one before that, the working directory
wasn't set. The menu screen loads on 1.1.25 but I can't try any further coz I
have no 3D acceleration at the moment (on Karmic) I'll switch to a different
GPU and try again later.

In 1.1.25 the game installs but doesn't run. It looks like it fails here
creating a file called masters.ctl which then leads to an exception:

Yes - Creates and opens foo.txt
No - Opens notepad with an empty file
Cancel - Closes notepad, not creating any files.
On wine, you just get Yes/No.
Side note:
Choosing yes shouldn't automatically append .txt to it, e.g., running 'notepad
foo' and choosing yes should have notepad create a file named 'foo', not
'foo.txt'.

Using RegCleaner 4.3, Build 780 is impossible because of different memory

Attached wine log demonstrates one of these failures.
It's hard to reproduce this exactly same way because of random memory access

recommendation is to play around with list in the program's main window and
operate with menu only (!) using keyboard shortcuts.

Whenever I start playing the game, it crashes after a while (usually during

clothes. I tried lowest and hughest graphic settings, always same behaviour.
The crash has no specific reason, I just get those 3 fixmes in some "random"
order during the whole sim creation:
fixme:imm:ImmGetOpenStatus (0x148010): semi-stub
fixme:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_GetRenderTarget Call to
IWineD3DDevice_GetRenderTarget failed
fixme:d3d_surface:surface_load_ds_location (0x1770c8) Not supported with fixed
up depth stencil
No error after crash, The Sims just close itself. It also has the same
behaviour with reloaded, razor1911 and appdb nocd patch. It might be bug in the
game, not in Wine, I really don't know.
Wine 1.1.22, Ubuntu 9.04 64bit, nVidia GeForce 9600GT 1GB VRAM (drivers
