The speech package will download and install, but doesn't seem to function. The console shows The RosettaStoneDaemon service is starting. The RosettaStoneDaemon service was started successfully. fixme:file:MoveFileWithProgressW MOVEFILE_WRITE_THROUGH unimplemented recv failed with error 28 for socket 160 ... and then the app says the speech component has a problem. Tried to get a +relay log without luck. The trial was free because I am evaluating it for a school. Near the end of the installation, I got an error box saying: "Kodak EasyShare was unable to finish your task. (Error code 12x54x1x)" I'm attaching the log output (from a "script" command). In a minute, I'll come back and update this bug by adding the "EasyShareInstall.log" file as a separate attachment. My system is running Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-23-generic. My Wine is configured to emulate Windows XP. In this screen, you are supposed to be able to move Mario with the keyboard arrow buttons as well as jump with the shift button. According to the appdb, the first mention of this problem is with wine version 20050111, and it is still present in wine version 1.19. The game itself is perceived to be very good and fun remake of the original game, and it would be nice to be able to enjoy this little gem with linux/wine. I would attach a trace, except that trying to trace to a file still spews useful output to the terminal for some reason here. To test this: Get CreateProcess example from MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms682512(VS.85).aspx Add a few lines to print out the value of pi.hProcess and the return value of WaitForSingleObject. (I'll attach the code). Run it with an argument "C:/windows/system32/notepad": hProcess is non-zero, and WaitForSingleObject succeeds. You may need to put the file OLE2NLS.DLL in the SYSTEM directory within your Windows directory." and the log entry warn:ver:VERSION_GetFileVersionInfo_16 Could not find VS_VERSION_INFO in "c:\\windows\\system32\\OLE2NLS.DLL" This is harmless, but gets to be real annoying. It is possible to do a search within the document, but you cannot click the displayed results and therefore you cannot jump to the location the word was found. Also it is not possible for longer search results to scroll in horizontal direction despite there is a scrollbar. The only fields that are working are the search entry field, the search button and the close button (cross in the upper right corner). The fact that you cannot access the search results makes this part of the program totally unusable. This changed after this commit: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=4094ff025675a14e7572d975d… before this, the input box was even more broken, but the glyph was better - there was '×' (multiply) sign. Was is most evident is that the last character(s) is(are) not canceled. I attach a vertical concatenation of 3 screenshots: the first is the state before hitting backspace: I typed "abcdefghijkl" and added an inline image, the second is after hitting backspace (I cancel the "g"); notice how the last "kl" are not correctly canceled and the image is not moved to the left and the third is how it should have looked. No error message is displayed while hitting backspace (it complains about IME all the time but I think it's no big deal). I have seen this problem at least in versions 1.0.1 (under Debian testing, Ubuntu hardy and intrepid, both 32 and 64 bits) and 1.0.13 (Debian testing 64 bits). The situation is even worse under Ubuntu intrepid (32 bits OS, Wine v1.0.1) as text disappears as soon as it is typed (Esc redisplays it briefly). I can live with the image (visible at the end of the line) not correctly positioned after backspace (it seldom occurs), but the last character not canceled is a real (visual) pain. I can test anything you wish and I understand programming/debugging. Thank you for any help. When using the buttons on the Main Toolbar the icons which occasionally disappear and overall 3D performance is rather slow. You can mouseover the icons and they will reappear, but it isn't overly practical... Attached is a log. Now that I can actually get into Approach, I have been using it all day. I have five bugs to report. (I am presuming you want them on different reports.) I am running the native msvcrt. sh -c "cd /home/wine/drive_c/lotus/approach; WINEDEBUG=+loaddll WINEDLLOVERRIDES=msvcrt=n /usr/local/bin/wine ./approach.exe" Bug number five: when Approach opens a database, it has its own set of windows inside the main Approach window. This allows you to tile, etc. several databases inside the main Approach window. To do this, Approach has a second "title bar" with a second set of "caption buttons" and "Control box". Under Wine, this second set of "caption buttons" and "Control boxes" has a duplicate set. This causes confusion. I have circled what I am talking about in the attachment.
