The New York Times distributes a proprietary program called TimesReader
http://select.nytimes.com/gst/timesreader.html
Attempting to run the installer results in the following error:
$ wine TimesReaderFullSetup.exe

I'm not sure what to do from here but I'm happy to help in debugging this.

The rail3d installer downloads hundreds of files,
and if any one of them fails, it puts up a
"no error message is available" dialog and
just sits there. I'll attach a log. Oddly,
I don't see any winsock in the log, though I asked for it...

Summary: UI glitch with FlatOut 2
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.29
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ape(a)ape3000.com
FlatOut 2 has some UI glitches on race. The UI elements (map, infos, speed
meter) are sometimes shown as whitish transparent (see the attachment) instead
of the usual solid colored images. It swaps all the time in-game between the
correctly rendered ones, transpared ones and some times there is no elements at
all.
This didn't happen on Wine 1.1.25, but it does occur on 1.1.29. I haven't
tested any versions between them or the new 1.1.30. I'd call this bug a
regression.

Summary: DrawIconEx() doesn't draw 1 bpp monochrome Icons
correctly
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.29
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: user32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wilfried.pasquazzo(a)gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=23728)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=23728)
Test program to show differences between drawing 1 bpp icons in DrawIcon() and
DrawIconEx()
The function DrawIconEx() doesn't handle Icons with 1 bpp correctly.
I've attached a test program that will draw many different icons in a line with
DrawIcon() and the same line of icons below with DrawIconEx() and
DI_DEFAULTSIZE, DI_NORMAL, DI_COMPAT flags set - which should normally result
in the exact same output.
The drawn icons are (fltr):
1 bpp 2x2 "chessboard" field
32 bpp white, black, red, green, blue icons without alpha channel
32 bpp white, black, red, green, blue icons with increasing values of alpha
This works fine in WindowsXP with 32-bit color depth (I'll attach a screenshot
later).
In Wine the 1 bpp icon is distorted/squeezed, the 32-bit icons are however
drawn correct.
I'll search where the handling of 1 bpp icons differs in those two functions
and fix DrawIconEx() accordingly.
When this is fixed, the DrawIcon-Function could just call DrawIconEx with
DI_DEFAULTSIZE, DI_NORMAL, DI_COMPAT flags (as suggested in
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms648065(VS.85).aspx and done by the
test application) and therefore a lot of complicated, duplicated code could be
removed from "dlls/user32/cursoricon.c".

This is on Karmic 64-bit, downgrading wine didn't seem to help. Maybe libc/gcc
upgrade?

Summary: EVE Online crashes when loading Caldari station
environment
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: envil(a)vexar.de
EVE Online "crashes" with a page fault when docking or logging into an Caldari
station.
Instead of completely crashing the game continues to run but only shows a black
screen besides the 2d parts of the UI.
When undocking from the station 3D models aren't rendered anymore but the
background is visible.
wine: Unhandled page fault on execute access to 0xcccccccc at address
0xcccccccc (thread 001f), starting debugger...
I tested various wine versions (1.0.1 up to 1.1.26) and it happens in all of
them.
Im using Ubuntu 9.04 64x (CPU: Intel Q6700 2,66GHz - RAM: 4x 2GB Corsair
Dominator 5-5-5-15 - GPU: Geforce 285 GTX with 2GB Ram)
Additionally i tested Ubuntu 8.10 32x on the same machine with the same result,
replacing the GPU with an old Geforce 5, different nvidia drivers or using
taskset to run the game on one Core only did not help either.

Summary: Quicken 2007 Basic Crashes on file load
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mordok33(a)gmail.com
This should be referenced to Bug 16001.
Quicken 2007 is accepted by wine and shows in my "C Drive" on Ubuntu 9.04.
Quicken does start and has accepted my files which I copied directly from a USB
stick. (I believe this circumvented the problem I stated in Bug 16001 so that
Bug may still be valid.
Now when I attempt to "Open" the files Quicken crashes (program just closes
with no error message.)
When I restart Quicken I repeat the "Open" process and Quicken again crashes in
the exact same way.
Additional possibly related information;
When I start Quicken I continually receive a screen giving me the choice to be
a new user or be a current user of Quicken. The same problem exists if I chose
"current user." If I chose "New User" the program crashes in the same way
without giving me a chance to load a file.

log using wine 1.1.23
I could not find any other matching bug, so I'm opening a new one:
Microsoft FlightSimulator 9 (2004) uses DirectX 9. It works since wine 1.1.23,
but there are severe graphics-related bugs:
Terrain and Objects are transparent or get black. Sometimes they are newly
textured after a while, or game crashes.
This is wines output:
fixme:d3d:context_check_fbo_status FBO status
GL_FRAMEBUFFER_INCOMPLETE_ATTACHMENT_EXT (0x8cd6) [...]
and:

location
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_UpdateSurface >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE
(0x501) from glTexSubImage2D @ device.c / 6010
I attached a full log.
My GFX-card is a Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX with Nvidia driver 180.44. Clean
wineprefix. wine-windows-version set to Xp, also tested 98. I could not find a
demo of version 9, but will test FS 10 (X) later on.
Thanks.
