Hi Austin,
First, a somewhat administrative note. With my current Wine involvement being
somewhat low, comments like #17 are bound to be ignored. comments like #18, on
the other hand, justify downloading, compiling and running the test code again,
as they show something relevant has actually changed.
More to the point, however, I'm afraid the commits you point out have done
little to alleviate the bug. The two commits seem to provide an infrastructure
with which the relevant messages could be distributed to applications, but the
do nothing to actually detect the keyboard change event. Without that, this is
just dead code that will never be actually called.
Downloaded, compiled and ran the test program. Works on Windows XP. Doesn't
work on Wine freshly compiled out of git.
Bug is still open, sorry.
Shachar

Summary: CPU Governor OnDemand: Slow Performance in certain
games, e.g. Sacred 2
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.28
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ghost_zero5(a)gmx.at
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 64Bit and if I run Sacred 2 I get a terrible performance
if I have the OnDemand governor active. If I set to OnPerfomance I have a way
better performance - though it still isn't as good as in Windows though.
I am using a nVidia 9600 GT Green Edition with the 190.25 driver.
I think in Guild Wars it is also a bit slower with OnDemand than with
OnPerformance but it isn't that extreme and I can't be for sure as it could
also have been because of Internet speed or server load for Guild Wars.

Can I get someone to confirm this so that it can hopefully be marked as
complete?

Oblivion water
With a fresh installation of Oblivion with no changes to Oblivion.ini or
anything in a new wine prefix (version 1.1.29), water looks perfectly fine --
the same as in Windows.
I think this problem has been solved.
