Summary: RagTime 5.6.5 does not start
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.5
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wine(a)AngieBecker.ch
After (successfully) installing RagTime 5.6.5 one can start the config-tool
"Konni" but the main application shows an error right after the splash-screen
appeared:
CErrorException during gApplication->Startup Error -2146648008 PlfmError 0
This might be due to the animated mouse cursor (a nut eating squirrel, which is
sooo sweet!), but this is just an asumption.

backtrace
As the summary says. Attempting to start PSP 6 with a clean .wine directory
causes it to complain about needing mfc42.dll. If a native mfc42.dll is
provided, it then crashes with an "Unhandled page fault on read access" before
the expected splash screen appears.
The mfc42.dll I'm using probably comes from Windows 2000, as that is the last
Windows version to which I have access.
While I've filed this bug for the version of Wine I'm currently using (and in
which I can therefore prove the error occurs), I don't think there has ever
been a version of Wine under which PSP 6 started successfully.

If you open Firefox in Wine you can see on
http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/full.php an wysiwyg editor.
It has a footer for some formating and there are strange Signs printed in it.
Normally there you could see something like "Path: " (just try it in your
native Browser)

Progecad smart! free to personal use autocad-like application (
http://www.progecad.com/compra/index.asp?left=progecad2008smart&lang=eng )
crashes when after opening a dwg file and then i'm trying to save it or save it
us. Application succesfully saved new created file but only once (opening and
saving it again crashes programm the same way). I'm not completly sure but i
belive it's a regression error (as i remember saving option was ok around wine
0.9.54 but there was some other issues which had made the application not
usable and i didn't really work with it, so i'm not sure). As reported in app
db the same issue happen in pro version of programm.

Log of Thief 3 scrash
The following commit causes Thief 3 to crash on starting a new game:
commit 014c4bfc70a4d4e60f033d579d1be13a46f65170
Author: Stefan Dösinger <stefan(a)codeweavers.com>
Date: Thu Apr 9 18:40:57 2009 +0200
wined3d: Save some memory in vertex buffers.
To reproduce (on this commit), start t3.exe, escape past all the start screens,
and press START NEW GAME (if you can read it!) Crash log attached.
Note that at the best of time Thief 3 generates a lot of crashes, both in game
(presumably cut scenes failing to launch?) and on exit, but at least it was
semi-playable.
There is a Thief 3 demo.

a test to select appropriate game graphic settings and then menu with no crash.
However, every next start result in a crash.
