output when running it from console.
I was able to reproduce what seems to be the most important crash bug related
to Warcraft III world editor since it looks like it is the one that happens
most frequently, as a matter of fact, once I learned how to avoided I was able
to run world editor for a long amount of time.
To reproduce the bug;
- gnome, metacity 2.18.
- Warcraft III 1.21 or 1.22
- Run worldeditor (after version 1.21 CD is not necessary anymore
- Once it opens, switch to another virtual desktop, then switch back to the one
where the world editor windows are present, and make world editor active again.
It will page fault.

Several surface textures are missing in this game, probably due to the below
mentioned bug:
wine err:d3d_surface:surface_prepare_system_memory Surface without memory or
pbo has SFLAG_INSYSMEM set!
I have created a .jpg to visualize this bug.
The bug was not shown in the err log proir to wine version 0.9.49 but the
surfaces were missing anyway.
My system:
Athlon64 3800+ with kernel-2.6.23 / xorg-1.3

Summary: StarCraft Installer has minor sound issues
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.42

I'm using the English Starcraft reatail version, which installs Starcraft
1.15.2. I'm using opensuse 11.1, tried both hardware accelerated or emulated
sound in winecfg.
Steps to reproduce:
Start Installer from CD, move the mouse over the buttons, for every move you
will see one or both of the following errors/fixmes:
failed to play a WAVALSA lib pcm.c:7228:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occured
ALSA lib pcm.c:7228:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occured
A typical log would look like:

fixme:winmm:MMDRV_Exit Closing while ll-driver open
While this is a minor issue, it might be interesting for the wine sound
developers.

clonecd_install.txt - terminal output on running CloneCD installer
CloneCD is a CD imaging/backup program. I tried to download and install CloneCD
5.3.1.4 from the SlySoft web site.
On running the installer (which does mostly appear to complete), output to the
terminal begins (see attachment clonecd_install.txt for the rest):

After that, running other/any Windows program, e.g. wine winhlp32.exe gives
similar output. (Maybe due to a device driver that CloneCD installs???)

*embarassed*
I rescind my last statement that it only worked 'once', it was a buggy shortcut
in KDE 4.3...
By setting compatibility mode to 'WinNT 4.0' I can reliably start the patched
'Homeworld 2' from console. It's just a workaround I know, but an easy one at
that.
