Wine settup and background:
I had it working and running surprising smoothly with only native overrides for
msxml3 and d3dx9_(26,31,33). (worked in 1.1.X release untill 1.1.9)
After wine 1.1.10 winehq update I tryed to play game but it crashed when it
should have drawn the first frame of game view.
After that I tryed to locate cause of problem but I wasn't able to make any
version to work in bisect and then tryed to downgrade without success. So this
might well be about some radeon driver update breaking something.
Error logs that follow are run using clean wineprefix with only native msxml3
and gecko installed. I can also try to run using native d3dx9_XX.dll's later.
Crash in same wine code can be seen in d3d8 visual.c test code.

Summary: wwiionline (Battleground Europe): some sounds are not
heard from the players position but from elsewhere
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.8
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: rasto(a)ns.ksp.sk
When sound set to "hardware", some sounds are not heard from the correct
position. Among these are for instance aircraft engine sounds (yours and
foreign) and gear and flap retraction/extension sounds. Other sounds such as
gunfire are always heard from the correct position.
One of the positions where sounds are heard is the initial spawn point (at
least for airplanes). However, there appear to be more such points, always at
ground level. When one flies close to ground for some time, sometimes he will
hear himself overflying a position.
Soundcards tested:
1) Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)
2) E-mu 0202 USB
To reproduce:
Install wwiionline (download from ftp://downloads.wwiionline.com/).
Run WW2_sse2.exe (or any other executable) to go to offline training.
Select a aircraft. Start engines with "e". Increase the throttle until the
aircraft is rolling. Engine sound will slowly fade. Take off (or stay rolling
on the ground..) and fly low over the starting position left to right. You will
hear the airplane passing overhead.
Occurs in all wine versions tested, from 1.1.3 to 1.1.8. OS is Debian, wine
built from sources.

Summary: wwiionline (Battleground Europe): bad fps drops when
playing certain sounds
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.8
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: rasto(a)ns.ksp.sk
The game suffers very bad fps drops (from ~60 to 0.5-0.2 for few seconds) when
certain sounds are played with hardware sound selected. This occurs in all wine
sound configurations.
Soundcards tested:
1) Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)
2) E-mu 0202 USB
To reproduce:
Install wwiionline (download from ftp://downloads.wwiionline.com/).
Run WW2_sse2.exe (or any other executable) to go to offline training.
Select a two-engined bomber/transport aircraft, for instance the C47.
Start engines with "e". Wait a few seconds until the aircraft starts to roll
slowly. Now turn the engines off with "e" again. The problem is most pronounced
when turning the engines off like this, but appears (often to lesser extent)
often, making the game unplayable with sound.
Seems to be present with sound both "hardware" and "software" but not with
sound "disabled".
Occurs in all wine versions tested, from 1.1.3 to 1.1.8. OS is Debian, wine
built from sources.

A few different in-game events seem to trigger this bug. The easiest way to
trigger it is just to open the faction summary window and click on the senate

campaign. I -seem- to remember this working better in the early beta days, but
can't get any versions that old to compile anymore. If I have any luck I will
make up a regression test report.

I have had Steam working for a long time; finished HL2, got almost halfway
through Far Cry and HL2 Episode 1, etc. Steam pushed an update around April
25, 2010, and ever since then, it has crashed after putting up the main Steam
window and partially painting it (mainly the category headings at the top), and
putting up the smaller "news items" window but not painting its contents. The
news items titlebar shows the number of updates (e.g., "1 of 8") before it
crashes; it manages to record which one it displayed, because the next time it
shows one fewer available (e.g., "1 of 7").
There's very little in the console under normal start conditions; it gets
through the CellID connectivity tests, then prints a few error and fixme lines:

at work we use this awful little hour registration program, that connects to a
MS SQL server. as wine progressed, in the end I only needed to install
MDAC28.EXE to get it to work quite well. but then something horrible happened
and it stopped working, with a popup box saying something like 'cannot connect
to MS server'.. I tried several versions of wine, and apparently somewhere
around 1.1.21 it stopped working.
unfortunately, the program is proprietary, but I'd love to provide logs and
such, if I can get some direction. I'll attach a +relay log here, in the hope
it may be useful.

Screenshot
To reproduce:
Enable FSAA via nvidia settings (or in game menu if it allows to do so). Start
the game, wait until it enters interactive mode (if there was a movie), then
enter "ROCKETMAN" cheat to easily get a fire image. Fire from jetpack is
surrounded by floating translucent black squares. The same squares are visible
for some types of weather. If the camera gets under water (when diving, etc.),
black screen is shown instead of water image.
In all cases the image is to be just slightly distorted (light refraction
modelling).

On the 'Insert' tab of the ribbon there is the button to insert a symbol, which
when you click the arrow underneath displays the most recently used ones. For
fonts such as Arial and Garamond this is blank, although clicking any of the
spaces will insert whatever character should be there. For Liberation fonts

wined3d: Disable strict draw ordering by default.
While some performance hit from the extra flushes was expected and would be
acceptable, the performance hit can be over 50% on some configurations,
which
clearly isn't acceptable. This patch introduces a "StrictDrawOrdering"
registry key for applications affected by this, until we have a more
structural solution.

This would be helpful for WINEDEBUG beginners.

The demo could be English only but then it's strange that
the 'Advanced' installation option is there. This could also
be a regression.

Testing Battlefield Bad Company 2 on wine, found it doesn't work :-(. Installs

At first, looked like bug 20935, but I took Focht's advice and stubbed out
IOCTL_STORAGE_GET_MEDIA_TYPES_EX, but that didn't help. Looking at a +cdrom

Also tried using cdemu to mount an Alcohol 120% image, with all emulation

Lastly, tried a no-cd patch, which I tested on windows, and works there, but

This was fixed for me when I upgraded from 1.1.44 to 1.2-rc1.
Voice is now clear and strong in TF2 using a Logitech USB microphone where as a
friend still using 1.1.43 in the same match was still crackling and dropping
out.
Has this been resolved for others?

I made a mistake in my last message: The installation didn't continue as I had
a terminal open using the "installation disc" path. I have been able to
continue the installation and it went through after I closed the window. But
when I started from the K-Menu (I am using KDE) it prompted me to "insert play
disc" which had not been removed after installation.

I tried installing the retail 2 CD-ROM version today. The install disc loads up
fine and I can get the installation half way through. I am running Mandriva
2010.0 Powerpack with
[mwagner@localhost media]$ wine --version
wine-1.1.42
When I am asked to put the "play disc" (2nd disc) in the drive it won't accept
it. Also the file-manager in Linux doesn't show anything and doesn't mount the
disc. I therefore had to cancel the installation.
I haven't patched the game just running a fresh install from the original discs
(bought in Germany)
Hope that helps.

In the history i already opened a bug that the clipboard is generally not
working since Wine Version 1.1.19.
Example:
========
Please download the actual version from Irfanview.
http://irfanview.tuwien.ac.at/iview427g.zip
Unpack it and start the i_view32.exe
Then make a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard.
Try to insert it into irfanview with edit -> paste.
This only works up to wine V 1.1.18 !
Today i tried it again in Kubuntu with the package of wine 1.1.42 and it also
does NOT work.
It is the same trying to copy some text over the clipboard to an application.
>From my point of view the working of the clipboard is essential for the working
with win-apps in wine.
So please look why the clipboard is not working any more for so a long time.

Hello,
--- quote ---
The problem is that we don't advance to the right cabinet, so only
assemblies in the first cabinet will be installed.
--- quote ---
Sure, with that patch it looks a lot better ;-)
The missing assemblies (Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll and companions) are now
installed though I can't test with that RufzXP app anymore as the download link
seems to require some kind of registration now.

I've tried several ways, and all skip the customization screen on any run after
the first. I checked again today, with the same results.
What I did:
On the initial install:
1. Select custom install
2. On the next screen, uncheck all apps but Word, check the advanced
customization box.
3. On the advanced customization screen, add the equation editor.
4. Click next, and the installer proceeds.
5. The installation completed as it should have--Word was installed, with the
equation editor.
On the second run of the installer:
1. Select Add or Remove Features
2. On the next screen, uncheck all apps except Word and Excel, check the
advanced customization box.
3. Click next; the advanced customization box should come up here, but
doesn't--the installer just proceeds.
4. Checking the installed apps, Word and Excel were installed, and the equation
editor had been uninstalled.
I checked this in Windows XP, and the advanced customization screen comes up as
it should on subsequent runs of the installer. One thing I did notice was that
in XP, on the screen where you select what apps to install, only those that had
actually been installed were checked. In Wine, all the apps were checked when
this screen came up, even though I had installed only Word the first time.
If you can't reproduce, it be due to us having different versions of the
installer. My version is a slipstreamed Office 2003 Pro provided by my employer
under their academic volume license.

Bug is still there in wine 1.1.44 (Fallout 1, Mac OS X 10.6.3 + XQuartz 2.3.5).
If I use the "MouseWarpOverride"="disable" workaround, game becomes playable
for several minutes. Over time cursor's lag increases and forces me to exit
game and restart X11 and wine.

Using wine-1.2-rc2, the patched version of Gothic II: tNotR (2.6) and a
NoCD-fix (german; Gothic2.exe and ar.exe are changed), I can start the game and
load my savegames, so the game works.
I have to click away some error windows titled "SmartHeap Library" with the
message "MEM_BAD_POINTER" (since wine-1.1.43; I think I should create a bug
report about that..) and the Program Error window informing me that Vdfs32g.exe
crashed.
soundEnabled=1 in System/Gothic.ini works,
musicEnabled=1 seems to cause an "Application Error" window although the .dlls
are in place.
When I try to run the same version of Gothic II without a NoCD-fix - then with
the original CD of course - nothing happens, not any line of terminal output.
I'm not sure about the following:
When you get to the intro videos but the game crashes shortly afterwards,
delete or rename your Gothic.ini and let the game create a new one. I did so
and switching between the old and new .inis shows that only the new one works.
It might be another setting I made though.. but maybe that's it.

It's the only problem I've found in Excel 2007. When there are a list of dates

crashes before (immediately I click on the filter icon). It doesn't happens

I've tested the problem with wine 1.1.16, 1.1.19, 1.1.20 and Crossover. The

Wine 1.1.43, 1.1.44 have some 3D regrassion thats why I use 1.1.25.
You have patch it manually.
Latest wine 1.2-rc2, 1.2-rc1 have fixed many regrassion of 1.1.4x, again the
patch will not work other than you have to patch that manually.
Now, I am using wine 1.2-rc1 with patch applied, works great.
I can turn on all graphics setting to max except reflection which is wine's
another bug.
My graphics is Intel GMA X4500.
With this patch I can play NFS U2 and Carbon too.

By default Far Cry uses Direct3D9, this causes a segmentation fault upon

`r_Driver = "OpenGL"` in Program Files/Ubisoft/Crytek/Far Cry/system.cfg,
though it would of course be better if it worked out of the box.
I am attaching the terminal output (30kB->2.0kB bz2), the output with

Well Futuremark did a bit mess in versions. On their pages they still says,
that even the new builds are 3.6.0 because no change to 3d (i.e. bechmark gives
the same score) despite that installer is 3.6.2 ;-)
Are you able to find out the build of 3.6.0 which works in wine. Or download
link would be also ok ;) I have just 3.6.0/0906 3.6.0/1901 and none of these
works in current wine.
For those who got lost here, new builds have nothing to do with this bug
report.

As of Wine 1.2-rc1 mailwasher can no longer check my gmail account, it still
works fine with my local ISP account.
Mailwasher comes with the message "Connection timed out (possibly caused by a
firewall)", however there is no real time out as it pops this message instantly
upon checking the gmail account.
Version 1.1.44 was working perfectly.
The difference between the two mail accounts is:
ISP: server port 110, no SSL
Gmail: server port 995, SSL
I removed my ISP account, go only Gmail was left, in case it had something to
do with 2 accounts, but even with just 1 it would give the error.

Regression Test Results
Updating wine to 1.1.43 causes a major decline in Starcraft's 2d graphics
performance, when running with DirectDrawRenderer="opengl" set in regedit.
The graphics are now drawn so slowly that it's immediately obvious when
navigating the menu screens. The game is unplayable as a result.
I performed a regression test which told me that
"e7a71e15b56d709c4623a472b0dc44ae6b336e08 is the first bad commit", which had
the description "wined3d: Turn blit_shader color_fixup_supported into

I'm running on debian x86-64 with a Radeon HD4870 using the fglrx driver if
that makes any odds.

When an application calls system(NULL) or _wsystem(NULL), a SIGSEGV is
generated.
Actually the code of _wsystem() does not check the value of cmd parameter as
described here:
Perhaps a better implementation would be something like to:
comspec = msvcrt_get_comspec();
if (cmd == NULL)
return (comspec == NULL) ? 0 : 1;
else
if (comspec == NULL)
return -1;

Summary: Demo Need for Speed Underground 1 crashes

Version: 1.1.38

This bug is about crashing, when intro is finished and game asks for "Press
enter to continue". Here you have to click left mouse (because keyboard is not
working due to unimplemented "EnumDevicesBySemantics & co") and game
immediately crashes instead of displaying the game menu.
Bisection between working 1.1.37 and crashing 1.1.38 reveals, that i need to
revert following two commits on top of 1.1.38:
* wine-1.1.37-304-g4a8f93b
commit 4a8f93baded2cc56b1154d4c2c3d8d696441bd38
wined3d: Handle a zero source value for WINED3DSIH_LOG.
* wine-1.1.37-306-gadf4ca2 (manually reverted)
commit adf4ca2e23873811a22fc82022f5d7753e9d569a
wined3d: Handle a zero source value for WINED3DSIH_RSQ.
...and Demo of NFS 1 works again in 1.1.38. Maybe related with bug 21627
(WINED3DSIH_NRM) and bug 21641 (WINED3DSIH_RCP), i.e. both are different
commits.

Screenshot of textbox rotated 90 degrees by method a
A user posted a question about this on the forum, and I was able to reproduce
it on my system.
To reproduce:
1. In Powerpoint 2007, type some text in a textbox.
2. Rotate the textbox 90 degrees either by
a) grabbing the green circle at the top center of the box with the mouse
pointer and moving it, or
b) selecting text direction from the ribbon, then selecting rotate 90
degrees or rotate 270 degrees
In either case, both the box and text within it rotate, but the text is
squished together (see screenshots). This only affects text rotated exactly 90
or 270 degrees--any other angle displays properly.
There is a third way to rotate text in Powerpoint, and that does display
properly: select text direction=>more options=>3D rotation, and enter 90 or 270
in the z-axis box. The difference seems to be that when doing it that way, only
the text is rotated, not the text box.

Guitar Pro 5.2, a popular scorewriter, used to work perfectly a handful of
releases ago, but has been regressing for a while. Here's what happens in
1.1.13:
1. The window redraws slowly (takes noticeably longer to draw when switching
from another application; windows dragged on top of it leave traces).
2. After ending song playback, there is a wait of about a minute before the
program becomes responsive again, accompanied by the following messages in the
console:
fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate (0x10020), partial stub!
fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate ((nil)), partial stub!
When testing an instrument or when the option to hear notes as you input them
is on, there is no such lag.
3. When Guitar Pro crashes because of Wine, a lot of markers (grey dotted lines
and labels) are seen on the page. This is some sort of debug feature used by
the authors, which is somehow triggered by Wine.

Particular commit (wine-1.2-rc1-103-ge6611e2):
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=e6611e22fb037a879205f1330…
When i revert that commit, 3Dmark 2003 crashes, when winecfg: WinXP.
PS: Austin, that "Denends on" link is not appropriate here, because bug 22392
is about latest v3.6.0 build 0906 or 1901, thus no go in current wine. To
reproduce this bug you need something like v3.4.0, which doesn't crash when
gathering system info.

Original reporter was here 3.5years ago and also he mentioned, that it did not
happened on brother's nvidia 7950GX2.
The crashes are gone in current git (wine-1.2-rc1-142-ga72f3f3), i don't see
any speed problems, so i would consider a closing as FIXED
(WORKSFORME/ABANDONED).

The patch solves the problem of apps being installed when they have been
deselected, but it creates another one in advanced customization. With the
patch, advanced customization works on the initial install, but if you re-run
the installer to add or remove features, the advanced customization dialog is
skipped entirely. You can add or remove whole apps on subsequent runs, but it
is not possible to add or remove features within apps (e.g., the equation
editor), and any non-default features that had been installed the first time
are removed.

reverted, NFS MW crashes shortly after intro movie (in game menu). In current
git (wine-1.2-rc1-142-ga72f3f3) i can play the carrier mode - i took few races
(sounds was turned on) and perfect :) Although the problem evolved through the
3.5years this last commit makes the game playable and i guess it's not worth to
track every commit through these years. Shortly - FIXED and Henri strikes again

Screenshot
The Office 2007 apps have a splash screen that, for some reason, sticks around
while you're going through the initial set-up.
Under Outlook (screenshot attached), this isn't a massive problem, but under
Excel and Word, during the first run, Office opens a dialog box asking for your
name. This is hidden under the splash image and it's not even obvious it is
there. Tapping some letters and hitting enter allows the program to continue
and splash screen to go away.
There are similar bugs open, but I don't know if this is a duplicate or not.
Possible dupes: Bug 7552 & Bug 7669.

In Wine 1.2-rc1 dialog is resizeable, title doesn't get cropped.
however, "Make new folder" does not work, resizeability doesn't have some
reasonable minimal constraints (it's possible to resize that no interface
elements are visible), resizing doesn't always update label properly (there are
traces of older label's positions, new label sometimes not drawn in some
places).
Is it counted for this bug, or should I open separate new ones for these
issues?

But strangely, when I use radeon opensource drivers (xorg edgers) the game
works flawlessly!! it never crashes.

However, the ALSA sound doesn't work for this game (OSS does), but that's a

Patch for removing palette from a surface before releasing it
Hi all!
See enclosed an update of my first patch for wine 1.2-rc1 (I added a warn
comment too).
I made quick tests with a fresh wine 1.2-rc1:
- without patch: dungeon keeper normal and d3d version crash
- with my patch: dungeon keeper normal works fine but d3d version still crashs
Regards

Source of C program
Wrote a small test program in C to create the "ADODB Connection" object and
then invoked the Open method on it with a connection string specifying the Jet
engine and a database file. The ADO Connection objects seems to be created
although there are some error messages, but the Open fails with an unspecific
exception.
The Wine installation was set up in Kubuntu 10.04, installing MDAC28 and Jet40
using winetricks and the Jet driver registry settings mentioned in
http://wiki.winehq.org/NativeOdbc DCOM98 was not installed initially, but this
was repeated with DCOM98 installed (winetricks again). There were fewer errors,
but the Open still failed. These error messages were:
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {2206cdb0-19c1-11d1-89e0-00c04fd7a829} not
registered
err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {2206cdb0-19c1-11d1-89e0-00c04fd7a829}

registered
err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {c8b522cf-5cf3-11ce-ade5-00aa0044773d}
could be created for context 0x1
These two GUIDs relate to interfaces in oledb32.dll, but registering the DLL
with
wine regsvr32.exe oledb32.dll
seems to make no difference. Is it the context? Well, it works in Windows.
Attaching source file and logfile.

region where video is rendered.

The other shows a rectangular square right above Patrick & Spongebob with video
of swaying palms and short black line along bottom of region with video.
The line appears to be only 2 pixels high. Maybe videos are rendered 2 pixels
above where they should be? Maybe the issue is somewhere around

As this bug doesn't appear reliable, it appears to be some sort of race

fixme:ntdll:NtLockFile I/O completion on lock not implemented yet
Possibly, Catia uses NtLockFile()'s 4th argument to ensure file read

I can install Fritz&Fertig (Part2) [chess-introduction] and launch it. But
finally it fails when the *Media Player* replays the Video (or Flash???) with
an Error:
Title: Direct Player Error
Text: Frame not defined. Script Error. Continue? Yes/No.
Selection: NO => the App terminates
Selection: YES => the App continues, but the video lacks of interface. i.e. no
further speech and no further interaction is possible. Normally there should be
something like speech, then you click on some Buttons where it is checked, if
the mouse-selection on screen was fine, etc.etc.
I guess, as long as the whole interaction remains in the Window, the app works
fine. But as soon as it tries to grab the full Window, then it fails. The error
occurs only, after some progress after the start. But this is finally a
Blocker.
Sine I have no idea, what kind of *Video* this is, I guess, this might happen
as well in other scenarios as well. If there is something I could provide, then
please tell me HOW?

Start application after clean install. Shut application down. Start it again.
Splash screen appears (eventually), splash screen disappears (eventually).
Then nothing. Main window does not apppear. No 'entry' on the task bar. No
amount of window maximisation/minimisation, desktop switching etc. will make
the main window appear. There are tasks but they are not eating CPU (ps -f -u
$USER confirms this).
Starting the application a second time (in a different console window) gives:
err:ole:CoUninitialize Mismatched CoUninitialize
and exits. The first invocation puts up the main window (which is almost a
'shaded'). Roll this window down and the application is usable. Ther is
nothing untoward in the console output of the first invocation.
Note: First invocation of application after install produces a pop-up window
claiming the serial number (aka licence key) cannot be found. Only after
entering the appropriate number (key) does the main window appear. However, I
have had 'nothing happens' behaviour after a file recovery pop-up after
application crash.
Installer 'requires' winetricks wsh56 but application is run without any dll
overrides. winetricks corefonts are installed.
Behaviour is repeatable. Host is Kubuntu 8.04 x86, Linux is 2.6.19.

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 6
months. Is this still an issue in current (1.2-rc1 or newer) wine?

Looking at your patch it can be seen that it is impossible for this algorithm
to draw an ellipse that is an even number of pixels high. You always draw a
certain distance below and above the center and the center is a signed integer,
e.g. it sits directly on a pixel. Thus you always draw an odd number of lines.

Assuming type conversion and order of operations work similarly in C/C++ as it
does in C#, then if right and left are ints,
long a = (right - left) / 2.0;
would be equivalent to
long a = (long)((double)(right - left) / 2.0);
So first you subtract left from right, then cast that to a double, divide by
2.0, and finally cast THAT to a long. There would be two implicit casts
(int=>double and double=>long), but only the latter would potentially cause
rounding error.
Actually, it would not cause rounding error; it would cause truncation error,
unless your LONG type's implicit cast operator from double is set up to call a
rounding function, since IIRC the default behavior of downcasting like that is
to truncate... perhaps the issue is actually the fact that you're not calling a
rounding function?

Pardon me if I'm wrong but wouldn't 2.0 be a float? That would cause two
implicit casts which could cause the rounding issue.

@El: can I send you email to exchange quicker and plan a test because I have
nothing to test my code and you seems to have a perfect example.
For not filled ellipse, can you test the value of physDev->penStyle
The only test between filled ellipse and not filled is (physDev->penStyle !=
PS_NULL) for not filled and for filled ellipse: (physDev->brushStyle !=
BS_NULL)
The other tests are quite the same.
I think I have found for filled ellipse the 1 pixel error. It come from the
fact is the inside of ellipse which is draw... I will fix that.
I have to work for other style as intermittent line too.

Ok, I have take a look at your screen shots.
The 1pixel error must come from center/radius calculation but I simply do :
LONG a = (right - left) / 2.0;
LONG b = (bottom - top) / 2.0;
LONG cx = (right + left) / 2.0;
LONG cy = (bottom + top) / 2.0;
So maybe, I have to use a cast somewhere because right, left, bottom and top
are integer...
About shape, the strange thing is that I found the shape of my ellipse better
than on windows...
I use the breshensam algo.
Maybe they use an other algo:
- Jerry van Aken
- Danny Cohen
- Dilip Da silva
- L. B. Smith

It is the first time I trace a function in Wine, so I'm not sure if I did it
right. I ran the rest with WINEDEBUG=trace+all and used grep to extract the
lines with StretchDIBits.

Still no dice with the unfilled circles. It seems that all filled circles are
one pixel too high and also the shape is not exactly the same. Here are
comparison screenshots:
Windows: http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/2371/1win.png
Patch: http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/6084/improvtor1.png
This leads me to a more general question that I hope someone who understands
GDI/DIB can answer: Consider the case where a GDI function is used to draw a
circle on Windows. It will produce a certain rasterization of the circle. Will
this rasterization be exactly the same on every Windows PC? I would think so,
since it is called device independent bitmap, but I really have no idea. If
this is the case then Wine should probably strive to produce an exact copy of
the algorithms used on Windows. I'm asking this because none of the current
primitive implementations produces the same shapes that I get in Windows.
