Summary: Battlefield Bad Company 2: no cd/dvd drive found

Testing Battlefield Bad Company 2 on wine, found it doesn't work :-(. Installs
fine, but when you attempt to run it, says No CD/DVD drive found (this is with
the original dvd in the drive).
At first, looked like bug 20935, but I took Focht's advice and stubbed out
IOCTL_STORAGE_GET_MEDIA_TYPES_EX, but that didn't help. Looking at a +cdrom
trace, it's not related to that bug:

it's Securom 7.41.0004, not 7.2x. Also tried a couple patches for securom:
http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10407http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11646
but no dice.
Also tried using cdemu to mount an Alcohol 120% image, with all emulation
option combinations, but no luck.
Lastly, tried a no-cd patch, which I tested on windows, and works there, but
fails on wine. That's a separate bug though.

This was fixed for me when I upgraded from 1.1.44 to 1.2-rc1.
Voice is now clear and strong in TF2 using a Logitech USB microphone where as a
friend still using 1.1.43 in the same match was still crackling and dropping
out.
Has this been resolved for others?

Hmm, if I select 'Advanced' installation in the demo I'm not presented with a
selection dialog.

I made a mistake in my last message: The installation didn't continue as I had
a terminal open using the "installation disc" path. I have been able to
continue the installation and it went through after I closed the window. But
when I started from the K-Menu (I am using KDE) it prompted me to "insert play
disc" which had not been removed after installation.

Steps to reproduce:
1) remove ~/.wine
2) install AutoCAD 2005 Mechanical using Wine-1.2-rc2
3) start AutoCAD 2005 by wine acad.exe
Behaviour:
On Wine-1.2-rc1 and Wine-1.2-rc2 AutoCAD 2005 doesn't start and displays

Additional info
1) Wine 1.2-rc1 and 1.2-rc2 were compiled by following command
CFLAGS="-g -gdwarf-2" ./configure --disable-tests && make -j3
2) Wine 1.1.44 was compiled by following command
./configure --disable-tests && make -j3
because of errors about source tree during compilation process
3) All devel packages were installed besides libmpg123
4) gcc --version gives
gcc (GCC) 4.4.4 20100503 (Red Hat 4.4.4-2)
5) I'm using Fedora 13 32 bit

I tried installing the retail 2 CD-ROM version today. The install disc loads up
fine and I can get the installation half way through. I am running Mandriva
2010.0 Powerpack with
[mwagner@localhost media]$ wine --version
wine-1.1.42
When I am asked to put the "play disc" (2nd disc) in the drive it won't accept
it. Also the file-manager in Linux doesn't show anything and doesn't mount the
disc. I therefore had to cancel the installation.
I haven't patched the game just running a fresh install from the original discs
(bought in Germany)
Hope that helps.
