Certain levels in the game reliably exhibit a really annoying problem where all
the terrain textures slide seemingly along with the player's view camera, which
results in a complete disorientation of the player.
See the attached screenshots in a series to get the effect of this texture
sliding. Notice that textures on the mountains on the textures also slide but
each polygon retains the same texture.
I'm using a relatively old Wine version because that is what is the latest for
Fedora 9. I'm using Fedora 9 x86_64.
My Giants installation has been patched to version 1.4 and it includes the
"Graphical Revision Mod v1.01" from http://www.giantswd.org/?file=2 .
Additionally, I get a lot of repeated messages in the console saying: "Zero
length vector"

Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty.
I use the free PDF-Xchange viewer from Tracker Software (ver 2.0 build 42.2).
In Wine 1.0.1 the fullscreen view (F12) works fine.
I upgraded to Wine 1.1.28, which I thought necessary to get Google Sketchup
working. (Sketchup appears to function fairly well now.)
But, the fullscreen view in the PDF now "bounces" immediately back to non-full
screen. I tried this under Wine set to XP and to Vista. That about covers my
troubleshooting skills...
Anyway--this is not earthshattering--but something hopefully that may get fixed
one day.
thank you for all the great work and a great product,
-david

At all, it's not a wine bug, but bug of nvidia driver and bad code of windows
programm.
When i start some games from tasofro, shows black window and game hang up. It's
bug appears only on Nvidia drivers, because they use not safe code in
libGLcore. During glXCreateContext it does this:
leal 0x2ac(%esp),%esi
leal 0x2b0(%esp),%ecx
...
195230: movl 0x2a8(%esp),%eax
195237: movl %eax,0x2a4(%esp)
19523e: flds 0x2a8(%esp)
195245: fmul %st(1),%st
195247: fstps 0x2a8(%esp)
19524e: flds 0x2b0(%esp)
195255: flds 0x2a8(%esp)
19525c: faddp %st,%st(1)
19525e: fstps 0x2ac(%esp)
195265: movl 0x0(%esi),%edx
195267: movl 0x0(%ecx),%eax
195269: cmpl %eax,%edx
19526b: jnz 195230
While this exact code is called on every context creation, it clearly doesn't
cause anything problematic for most non-Tasofro apps. This is because of the
FPU rounding mode. In the default setting, it will always converge because the
two values are constants. However, Tasofro sets the FPU Control Word to 0A7F at
some point, which means it always rounds up rather than rounds to nearest. This
means that the value will never converge. So it just gets stuck in an infinite
loop.
(If i patch exe for rounding mode - game starts normally)
Well, i think wine may reset rounding mode before call glXCreateContext

The problem is regarding World of Warcraft crashes.
Now. It ONLY crashes after I've been to the bank, Class trainer, Auction house
or Riding skill trainer In-game. And not WHILE I'm doing these things but
AFTERWARDS when I'm finished and start moving away from them. That's when the
crash occurs. *I've been able to recreate it on several occassions*
Here is another funny thing. If I. While I stand with e.g. the Auction house
tab open and then zoom in to first-person view before closing it down *Or
before i start moving at least* Then the crash does not occur. Strange I know.
I have the latest version of Wine; 1.1.29
And I run it on Ubuntu Linux Jaunty Jackalope.
Posting an Attachment with the Backtrace from the debugger.
Would be grateful for any help.

Using the latest winetricks, I've installed ie6 and ie7 (separately) on my x86
Gentoo machine. In both cases, after loading a page, iexplore.exe always
terminates with "longjmp causes uninitialized stack frame". Interestingly, this
doesn't happen on my x86-64 Gentoo machine. However, the 32-bit system is more
up-to-date. For instance, it has glibc 2.11 while the 64-bit system has 2.10.
I'm not the only person to have encountered this. See the given URL for a forum
thread where a Ubuntu user has also encountered it. It may be easy for you to
reproduce. Note that this occurs on all recent Wine releases back from 1.1.34
to 1.1.36.

So it tries to format an error message for WSAECONNREFUSED, fails, and crashes.
The attached patch adds the error message to kernel32, which lets the
app get on to the next problem (PMB.EXE needs about 270 exports from MSVCP90).
I guess we need to expand kernel32's error message table to handle winsock
errors.

It's the first time I try to use winedbg and it's already crying ^^
I compiled my program (attached binary+source) on my virtual xp with "gcc -g
test_eventlog.c -o test_eventlog"
The 'g' flag (should) add debugging infos to the exe.
Thus, I would like debug my code and wine.
To reproduce the bug, just run
alex@Evan:~/Projects/wine$ ./wine ./programs/winedbg/winedbg.exe.so
/path/to/test_eventlog.exe
and type 'break OpenEventLogW', and 'n' several times
The error itself is "fixme:dbghelp_dwarf:parse_cie_details unknown CIE version
0 at 0x1321608"
I guess it's related to how mingw gcc add symbols in the binary.

A music file which on two playbacks shows the bug
Mozart10 is a music notation and notation editing program.
Being able to hear a MIDI output from entered notes, and
the ability to play a notated section or whole piece is a
*very* important feature of the program.
This bug causes the midi playback to freeze on a note,
making the program largely useless. The bug occurs
after the program plays a piece to completion, and then
re-plays the piece.
This MIDI bug is a regression. The most recent WINE
without the bug is wine-1.1.44
After playing a long enough piece through and then attempting
to re-play it, the piece will play only part way through, and
midi will hang, requiring the program to be closed. When it
hangs the console displays:
err:mmtime:TIME_MMTimeStart Cannot create pipe: Too many open files
wine client error:c: pipe: Too many open files
At this point the program cannot be normally closed, and must be killed.
Using wine-1.2-rc3 checked out with git for regression
testing I have this result:

Summary: Desktop icons created with black background
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0.0
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hoehle(a)users.sourceforge.net
Hi,
+ "WildLife Park 2" and
- "Jack Keane"
were installed the same day on MacOS with wine-1.1.34. While WLP2's desktop
icon looks good, Jack Keane's icon is created with a black background (both
border and inside the steering wheel). This black background bug is not new to
me. It also affected the desktop icons of
- "Ankh" (the first from the trilogy),
- "Geheimakte Tunguska",
- "Felix abenteuerliche Reise",
- "Kleiner Eisbär, kennst Du den Weg?"
and several other titles when I installed them in Linux long ago (some prior to
Wine-1.0). Other installs are not affected, e.g.
+ "Geheimakte 2".
You may scan ~/.loal/share/icons/ for all the icons that Wine created over time
on your HD.
Perhaps another issue, perhaps related: I thought .xpm would be created in
~/.local/share/icons/ only as a fallback when libpng is not available. Well,
Jack Keane's icon was created in one format, WLP2's in the other one. How
comes?
The png vs. xpm issue was re-raised recently in wine-devel:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2010-February/081560.html
BTW, ImageMagick also sets a black background when converting .ico to .png.
OTOH, Eye of Gnome (eog) "Save as" works, so I've been using it to convert .ico
files found on CD to .png icons for .desktop/.command files (the MacOS Finder
displays only .png, KDE and Gnome display both .xpm and .png).
Bug #20924 seems related (black background for icon inside application). Bug
#201 seems different to me: there should be no app calling a DIB function
rather than a strictly Wine-internal CreateDesktopIconFromIcoInExeStructure
invoked by the installer. Also, there's no single console log message about dib
or graphics during installation.

a mixed OpneGL / Bitmap implementation. If this is going to work, a lot of
other trouble applications will work (i think).

To reproduce this problem, run the following command (that's assuming you have
a UTF-8 xterm, otherwise replace UTF-8 with ISO-8859-1 or the appropriate
encoding):
LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 ./programs/start/start /help
You will notice that all the accentuated characters are missing. This is
because start.c converts the Unicode resource string to the
GetConsoleOutputCP() encoding in the output() function. I think that's correct
but GetConsoleOutputCP() systematically return "850" as the codepage, even if I
change the [Nls\Codepage]/OEM value in the registry.
One hack to fix this is to replace the GetConsoleOutputCP() call with CP_UNIXCP
but I guess that would be wrong in the case where we're running in the Wine
console.
So I think that when the console is a regular Unix terminal
GetConsoleOutputCP() should return the CP_UNIXCP codepage.

Dummy implementations of _set_SSE2_enable and _set_purecall_handler
Now that bug 23126 is fixed, I tried running Mass Effect 2 Demo without
installing vcrun2005. It aborted because it called our _set_SSE2_enable,
and once I added a fake implementation of that, it aborted because it called
our _set_purecall_handler. Adding a fake implementation of that let the
app get as far as the intro screen that says "press any key".
Once you do, it hangs, outputting

Summary: AnzioWin: 2 taskbar entries for each running instance
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.17
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: giulioo(a)gmail.com
System:
Ubuntu 8.04
Wine 1.1.17 (binary from WineHQ APT Repository)
I'm using an app which when launched will show 2 taskbar entries (2 rectangular
things on the taskbar) for every instance running, instead of just 1.
This is a problem because only 1 of those is active and responds to clicks to
get focus / come in the foreground, so the user is confused, especially if he
has more than one instance running (ie: 2 instances = 4 taskbar entries).
Steps to reproduce:
1) Download and install (9MB)
http://www.anzio.com/pub/anzio16/anziowinsetup.exe
(30 days demo, 15 seconds nag screen at every launch)
2) Click on the new menu icon
programs -> Anzio 16 -> Anzio 16 (default connection)
3) Select vt220
4) wait 15 seconds at nag screen
5) Select telnet/ssh whatever and type an IP address in the upper right text
box (ie: the very same Linux box you are testing on) and press "connect".
6) Observe that in the taskbar you have 2 entries
1st "Anzio"
2nd "AnzioWin <ip.address.you.used>"
If you minimize the window, only one of those entries is active.
On Windows you only get 1 taskbar entry.

With due respect, if you have to kill the install process in order to keep the
game installed (I am unable to confirm this as a workaround at the moment),
then it absolutely does not work and there is still some kind of problem with
Wine and this installer. Only if it were able to be installed exactly as it is
in Windows, without any "hoop jumping", should it be considered working.

The toolbar refresh slowness (which has also to some extent Autocad) depends (I
guess) of app's mixing of DIB and DDB ops. Not solvable by current state of the
engine, it should handle DDB directly too without having to convert to an
forth, so co-operate with wineX11.drv internals which, because of being an
"external" part of wine (and, mostly, because I don't want to rebase it on each
change in winex11 !) it can't do now.
About the transparency, I've noticed that one too, but I have no time right now
to investigate it in depth. It should be something trivial, indeed.... Maybe on
next months, but I'm not motivated anymore to do hard development on DIB engine
now. AutoCad works and that was my urgent problem.
I lost the hope to see the engine into mainstream some time ago....
About the constraints, I'm happy to hear that :-)
I've seen that the engine, in some graphic parts, pass more tests than wine GDI
itself :-) I also have an app that behaves (graphically) better with the engine
than without, but usually it's the opposite, the engine has still some missing
points.
Ciao
Max

I tried it with SolidWorks, with hope that it would solve some performance
issues with toolbar refresh and left panel display, but unfortunately it
doesn't change anything. I didn't notice any improvement in general
responsiveness during 3D modelling.
But there is at least one positive effect : geometric constraints in solidworks
sketches are shown with little blue-background icons. With dibengine on, they
are displayed correctly, but without, they are completely garbled.
And a negative point : icons in CSG (left panel) are partially black. It
doesn't seems to be directly related to transparency, as the black area is not
exactly the transparent area of the icons, but maybe it is related to an offset
problem with alpha channel ?

The install works ... you just have to ignore the error message at the end.
Use desktop emulation, eject in terminal when asked for another CD,
and then when it seemlingly fails,
don't roll back, don't repeat, just kill the install app.

Debug output
How to reproduce:
1. Install Drakensang Gold Edition (German) with DirectX. AFAIK this is version
1.2 of the game.
2. Run wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Drakensang/drakensang.exe
What happens:
The Wine desktop shows up, with the Drakensang icon and text in the upper left
corner, and an error message (white X in red circle). The header says:
bin:Drakensang - 0.3.2009-03-12-01.09.45-Release
The message says:
nDShowServer::PlayFile(): could not render file
'Z:/home/username/.wine/drive_c/Program
Files/Drakensang/export/data/movies/intro16_9.mpg'
After clicking OK, I get a generic Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error
dialog, and a Wine Program Error dialog, and then it closes.
The problem is fully reproducible (3 times in a row).

Clean wine, already installed interstate 76 outside wine dir, with cdemu
mounted cd image, tried to run as it ran before, crashed in smackerw32.dll with
some sound corruption too. Deleted wine dir and starting reinstalling again,
with the export LANG='en_GB.utf8' workaround.
Setup image was corrupted and it crashed on a dll too. Only thing i can think
of that changed was upgraded kernel. cdemu is a kernel module so i uninstalled
and installed again just in case - no difference.
uname -a :
Linux AIVAS 2.6.32-24-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Aug 19 01:38:40 UTC 2010

I attach the clean wine setup crash, if you also want the game copy
smacker32w.dll one it is also possible (but i thought it wouldn't interest you
since it's a unusual configuration of the game).
Wine was tried on win98 and win95 compatibility modes before running both exe -
no change.

To reproduce:
1. Run "wine winecfg"
2. Under the Graphics tab, enable "Emulate a virtual desktop"
3. Close the window and run "wine winecfg" again
Note that the winecfg window is not inside of a virtual desktop.
The reason I use virtual desktops is because so many games on wine seem to
forget to restore my desktop resolution when they exit or crash. It also allows
me to keep my monitor at its native resolution (1920x1080) even while playing
old games that only support the old traditional 4x3 resolutions (640x480,
800x600, 1024x768).

The issue still persists using wine-1.3.1-135-g2c127dd and the game patched to

After starting the game it seems to be hanged. Just be patient, after 1-2

disable in-game music in ../data/Settings.txt.
Now you can get to the game's menu but every screen is shown upside-down and
the mouse pointer moves in reversed.
To fix that I changed ORM to 'backbuffer' in the registry.
I was able to start a new game or the tutorial but the whole game suffers from
extreme lagging (e.g. mouse movement). Creating a new game takes a ridiculously
huge amount of time, too. It also crashes fairly often with an <Access
violation...> when clicking on <end turn>.
The console is literally flooded with the following lines:
err:ddraw:PixelFormat_WineD3DtoDD Can't translate this Pixelformat 64
err:ddraw:PixelFormat_WineD3DtoDD Can't translate this Pixelformat 58
To sum it up it's hardly playable but can be started at least, with
orm=backbuffer and disabled music.
I haven't tried native quartz.dll and others.

Hi,
When I try to install this software, I got the "Cannot read access control
list.Error code: 1400" message while installing it.
After clicking ok 2 or 3 times, the setup goes on and ends without any other
error.
Moreover, the software works perfectly in wine so I'm just reporting this bug
(P5) to just see if someone could fix it.

console log running the demo
When I run the game: Chrome (an FPS shooter) or its sequel: Chrome-Specforce in
Wine's fullscreen mode, the only available resolution is 800x600. Running it in
virtual desktop mode I have more choices: 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864.
After changing the resolution anything above 800x600 and restart the game in
fullscreen mode, Wine crashes with an unhandled page fault.
How to reproduce the issue in the demo:
1. Install the demo, start it: in the Options menu there is only 800x600
available (assuming you're running in fullscreen mode).
2. Exit the game, change to virtual desktop mode, start the game again: now
more resolutions are available. Select 1024x768 (or higher) and exit the game.
3. Switch back to Wine's fullscreen mode and restart the demo: it will crash.
The crash always generates a crash.log file in the game's directory, looking
into the file shows the game doesn't detect resolutions above 800x600 in
fullscreen mode.

I compiled the recently released wine 1.3.1, and i'm in a predicament related
to the sound configuration, that never happened in previous wine versions.
Whenever i try to configure sound, using winecfg, wine crashes. Running
applications, just end with the same exact crash, providing i select alsa, with
any other sound driver (or with sound disabled, evidently) it doesn't. Here is
a debug log - http://freetexthost.com/4j0ktn1peb.
I already disabled pulseaudio, so its not related with that.
So i ran a regression test, and this was the result:

I tried to find some d3d demo which I could modify and rebuild.
The single d3d demo with a mingw source I found hits an unimplemented function.
wine: Call from 0x7b836af2 to unimplemented function
d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXCreateTextureFromFileExA, aborting
I guess it could be rewritten to not use a file but it is still an issue.
Happens with wine 1.2 and 1.3.
I could install the MS DX9 libraries but I wanted to test some demos the
libraries I normally use which are the Wine ones AFAIK.

Latest version is 4.3, and is affected by this bug :
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14928 . Is it still worth it to test
earlier versions of this software?

Still present in wine-1.3.1.
Now i notice, that most traces attached here are garbage or when it is proper,
it's different from the one provided by wine-1.3.1. So adding current

Hello,
this 16-bit garbage is nasty to look at .. do we really need this? ;-)
It seems the corruption happens much earlier. The files under
"c:\CBLIGHT\MESSAGES\[locale]\" are key-value like (message) text files.
Even the german "c:\CBLIGHT\MESSAGES\DEUTSCH\texts.msg" which is unpacked
earlier is corrupted (you can tell by looking at the end).
Interestingly it's not detected as CRC failure unlike the english one.
The files are stored as embedded "resources" in the 16 bit .exe file.
Seek to resource "header" offset:
--- snip ---

I placed a breakpoint in _hwrite() and dumped the buffer - it seems the plain
text is already corrupted at this point.
So it seems to happen while unpacking the memory chunk... unfortunately there
aren't any visible 16/32-bit Windows API calls at this place.
That 16 bit unpacking code works on internal storage so neither +heap nor
valgrind can detect internal memory overwrites, if any.
The stack switching shouldn't be a problem - as long as no other 16 bit code
from other threads accesses areas where the unpacker switched its stack on
(same ds segment).
There is only one other thread present which pulls in when this thread triggers
message processing:

The GUI was responsive but slightly sluggish with minor graphical distortions,
small black blotches would be found all throughout the screen. As well, I could
navigate around the iTunes Store.
However, once I tried to subscribe to a free podcast, iTunes Store started
going in and out of grey, with dialog box "Distnoted.exe" crashing appearing
every 20-30 seconds. As well, iTunes noted it had an error communicating with
iTunes (uh huh, my internet connection is just fine, hehe). Distnoted.exe
crashing and GUI unresponsiveness are highly correlated.

I found this regression using the git version of Wine: several of the tested
games (they're older ones, using DX 7/8) fail to start. Some of the games have
known issues in Wine and I occasionally re-test them to verify the issue is
fixed or not. All of them worked (at least they started) fine in Wine-1.3.0.

Reverting the patch on top of wine-1.3.0-449-g703ab02 was successful and fixed

* Does *not* crash for software rendering mode (AIGLX disabled).
* Crashes regardless of 'Vertex Shader Support' and 'Allow Pixel Shader (if

Of note:
* Disabled audio so 'dsound' errors do not litter the log.
* Debugging aborted as thread(s) would not release.

Regression test result
Version 1.3.0 introduces a bug with Starcraft 2, where the actual game screens
are rendered mostly upside down. Version 1.2-rc7 (and presumably 1.2 itself)
doesn't have this problem.
I'm currently using an ATI 4870 card with the proprietary drivers, on an x86_64
machine running Debian Sid.
Relevant-looking registry settings are:
"OffScreenRenderingMode"="backbuffer"
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"
This bug (as well as another problem with setting the in-game shader settings
above 'low') does not appear when "OffScreenRenderingMode" is set to "fbo". In
"fbo" mode, however, the majority of screen real-estate is too garbled to be
usable.
Since this is a regression I performed a regression test and the results are
attached. I'll also try to upload a screenshot of the bug.

In wine 1.2, building a shared WoW64 build worked nicely using the method
described on the wiki (http://wiki.winehq.org/Wine64). In wine 1.3.0,
--enable-win64 causes trouble:
winebuild: winebuild: Unable to create output file

This is appears to be a regression. I'm attaching a patch to revert the
regression and an excerpt of the build log of where it fails.

Summary: Adobe FrameMaker 8: crashes on exit - fix inside,
please apply
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: user32

--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=29885)
Fix for FrameMaker 8 exit crash
FrameMaker8 runs fine with wine (provided that the Arial font is avail, e.g.
from apt-get install msttcorefonts). But while exiting the program, the console
shows 'BUG: holding USER lock' while Frame tries to open the "Internal Program
Error" dialog box. For this reason, all changed settings never made it to the
maker.ini file (such as display options or last window position). Root cause:
the following func does never return (SEGV)
Call user32.GetClassInfoExW(00400000,00a175e0 L"DockWnd32",00000000)
This looks like a Frame bug that is never triggered with MSWindows. I presume,
that the MSWindows API is more tolerant here. I'll attach a small patch to fix
this. Fix applies to my ubuntu 1.2-1.1.42 version but should do on current GIT
also.

The pit crew is partly transparant in Wine; one guy has only
a head, there's a clipboard floating in midair, etc.

kintecus missing ipconfig.exe output when trying to generate ID
Kintecus creates a 'unique computer ID' which you need for the program to run.
this is created when the program starts for the first time. at this point it
crashes in wine with the following output:
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\ipconfig.exe"
File not found
(see the attachment for the complete output)
essentially, it is not missing 'ipconfig.exe' but it's output, i.e. it doesn't
use 'ipconfig.exe' to make changes but only to gather information about your
machine.
a solution was provided here:
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=46634#46634
essentially, a fake but executable 'ipconfig.exe' is set up, that echoes the
normal output of the real ipconfig.exe.

Summary: CMake hangs when trying to detect and test MinGW
compiler (gcc.exe & g++.exe)
Product: Wine

Severity: normal

CMake hangs when trying to detect a usable Compiler, preferable MinGW, assuming
`-G "Unix Makefiles"' has been set as commandline argument.
CMake is also consuming a significant amount of CPU.
Excpected output when running cmake natively (example):
$ cmake .
-- The C compiler identification is GNU
-- The CXX compiler identification is GNU
-- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gcc
-- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gcc -- works
-- Detecting C compiler ABI info

-- Detecting CXX compiler ABI info
-- Detecting CXX compiler ABI info - done
-- Configuring done
-- Generating done
-- Build files have been written to: /home/user/somepath
Actual Output:
$ wine cmake . -G 'Unix Makefiles'
-- The C compiler identification is GNU
-- The CXX compiler identification is GNU
-- Check for working C compiler: C:/MinGW/bin/gcc.exe
(... nothing happens, just consuming CPU)
MinGW is installed into C:\MinGW, CMake (latest version from cmake.org) is
Installed into C:\CMake.
The projectfile (CMakeLists.txt) is working properly, and I've tested the
project successfully on Windows XP SP2, using exactly the same CMake version,
creating projectfiles for MinGW, VisualStudio and SunStudio, so it's most
certainly not the CMakeLists.txt who's causing the bug.

Cursor response is less smooth than in native Windows, and occasionally the
cursor seems to get "jammed", typically in "down".
Can usually be fixed by waiting, typically by moving cursor in opposite
direction, but not always.
This can be alleviated, though not entirely eliminated, by use of mouse rather
than cursor keys wherever possible, and trying not to hold one of the cursor
keys for extended periods, particularly when navigating long lists in menus.
Similar effects seen in X3 Reunion.

that you wont see any cars. Ghost cars are working and you can see all of the

This has to do something with the new shader code in 1.1.21. It did a step to

Summary: Bugs with EssentialPIM
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.10
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: saverio.pub(a)inbox.com
Decriptions of bugs found using EssentialPIM
(http://www.essentialpim.com/?r=download)
System:
* EssentialPIM Pro 2.81 (most probably the same bug applies to the Free
version), installed
* Ubuntu Hardy
Three notable bugs:
1. If "Minimize to system tray" (tools -> options -> general) is chosen, the
minimization works fine.
now, there are two ways to restore:
a) right click on the icon, the select "restore": this works fine
b) left click on the icon: (BUG) the window is not restored, and the icon
disappears.
This bug is reproducible every time, and it never happens in windows.
2. In "Notes", the default text (I'm in wine now, so I can't see which one
exactly - I suppose Times New Roman) renders correctly underlined, italics and
strikethrough,
but (BUG) doesn't render at all the bold; it marks it as bold, but the text
is still plain. This never happens in windows.
3. Some times when launching the main executable, (BUG) a message "essentialpim
won't run in debug mode for security reasons" appears
and EPIM exits.
This message never appears in windows, and has an occurrence of about 1/15
on wine.

On an Ubuntu Intrepid system, with pulseaudio 0.9.10-2ubuntu9:
In wine-1.0.1, 1.1.0 sound in this game is fine.
In wine-1.1.6 ... 1.1.9, it's a little worse, and breaks up once in a while.
Still usable, though.
In wine-1.1.10, it's much worse; it's as if it's looping each
eighth of a second for a second. Sure makes the game go slow.
So slow that you can't get past the first screen. Unusable.
I'll attach a +dsound log.

Summary: GRLevelX Images Hidden
Product: Wine

Platform: PC

Screenshot of GRLevelX running on Wine 1.1.8
It appears that the base map & radar image are hidden behind the black box.
Sometimes if a window is dragged across the radar, the base map & radar image
become visible for a brief moment. The intensity bar is always visible. This
appears to be an image layering or transparency problem.
A fully functional 30 day trial may be downloaded from:
http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/grlevel2_setup.exe
