There are some other check boxes below them which are visible, but always appear unchecked. (I'm not sure whether that's really part of the same problem or not.) They're still usable, though. Native gdiplus is a workaround. I also tried to install through wine, but, despite reports online that i've seen, it fails with "err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled Exception Code c000005 flags 0 addr (nil)". I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, and tried 1.0.1 (old stable), the default version in the repositories (i don't remember what that was), and the beta directly from wine betas, 1.1.44. Since it kept crashing, i decided to copy over the installation from windows to ubuntu. winecfg sets everything up fine (even sound... *yay*), and when i start lol.launcher.exe it fails with the attached ugly log, and a nice little window saying something along the lines of "post a bug if this doesn't happen in 'doze". The installation finished okay, the installation process looked completely normal to me. When trying to start SQLDetective.exe I get a setup_exception_record stack overflow before the main window is displayed. I took a WINEDEBUG="+relay,+seh+tld" log and recorded the "bt all" output after the error was displayed. Will upload both files as attachment. If this is an application issue, please let me know as I have access to the application developers. Would appreciate any information you could give me. Hope I provided you with the right information. The original program was written in BPW Borland Pascal for Windows 13 years ago. When a print command is issued, absolutely nothing happens. When using the notepad under Wine, printing is ok. The program can be freely dowloaded at: http://home.euphonynet.be/logiciel-fabrique/ I know the software writer but did not ask if he would agree to provide the source code. I then installed Rosetta Stone v3.4.5 and used it for several days without issue. After the repository updated Wine to 1.2-rc1, Rosetta Stone started crashing. The program starts normally, and begins lessons normally; however, the program eventually freezes during lessons and then crashes with Rosetta Stone putting up an error just before exiting. This behavior was consistent. I fixed the problem by removing the WineHQ repository from sources.list, by running sudo aptitude purge wine and by running sudo apt-get install wine to install the standard Ubuntu version of Wine, which is 1.1.42-0ubuntu4. However, installing the game still does not work. The error messages are attached.
