Problem:
I cannot install Football Manager 2008. I think my version of the game is 8.0,
as it is the shop-sold CD. I tried following the instructions found at
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9479 (App DB page
for this game) without success.
Output:
After the "InstallAnywhere" software completes, a 'command prompt'-style box
displays the following output: http://wine.pastebin.com/f6d55bd83
Simultaneously, the terminal that wine was launched from displays the following
output: http://wine.pastebin.com/f35c09bad
Result:
Cannot install or play game.

Screenshot after activity
S103 is an Open University application. S103 opens a main navigation window,
which opens other windows depending on the activity chosen. The window remains
in the background while the activities are taken place.
On exiting an activity, the main window should redraw its layout, but fails to
do so.
There is no console data to suggest why.
The application does not appear to have crashed, as it can be closed by
clicking on the X as normal, but it is not unusable and has to be loaded again
to continue.
I could upload a full +relay but it may miss the point (as an activity has to
be opened and closed to recreate the problem). Would any other logs be more
helpful?

the Wine 1.0 RC-versions 1 and 2 this remains impossible.
Under Windows XP (SP1 and SP2) it was possible to click on an attachment in an

7.10 and 8.04) under Wine (0.8.x, 0.9.x and 1.0 RC1/2) clicking on the link to
an attachment in an email message results in no activity. No error message
either. Just nothing happens.

AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: silas-wine(a)flatline.org.uk
As far as I know, no version of Wine has any method of increasing the size of
the mouse pointers.
If you've artificially increased the DPI (LogPixels registry key) to make the
print larger, and/or you are using a high-resolution screen (e.g. the OLPC's
200dpi screen), it can be difficult to see where the mouse is.
It would be nice if the mouse pointer increased size in proportion to
everything else. Failing that, it would be nice if at least there were some
other way of increasing the cursor size (even if it's limited to integer scale
factors).

virtual desktop is no longer fixed-size. It's possible to maximize it and to
fullscreen it. (This is related to the bug 10839.)
But :
- The virtual desktop always displays in the top left corner of the window
containing it, it would be better if it always displays in the center of the
window ;
- Wine should display a black background in the entire window to avoid a
disgraceful display bug when you fullscreen the window containing the virtual

My program (it's very specific program, PCAD2002), pcb.exe, tries to start some
another programs one-by-one, waiting for finishing of each and get
return-codes. This happens normally in native Windows.
(these sub-apps is accel2sp.exe; specctra.exe; sp2accel.exe).
But under Wine, my pcb.exe can not wait for end of execution each program, and
statrs all three in one moment, and all work incorrectly because file generated
by first program, used in second, etc.
I try to use .bat file. Prorgams listed in .bat file, executes one-by-one. But,
main program, pcb.exe, when calls my .bat file, again can't wait for end of it
execution (and get return code).
Each program, at manual (standalone) running, is works fine. Wine not crashes
in any case.
I have Ubuntu 8.04, Wine 1.0 installed from repo's, no any tuning, no windows
DLLs, etc. Please help.

Disable S3TC
This bug probably only effects a small amount of Ati graphics cards (or just
me) and the bug is probably driver related. Nonetheless I've decided to report
the bug here in case there's anyone else having similar problems as I've
experienced.
I was having problems getting Starcraft 2 to render correctly. Pure 3D details
was rendered correctly while some of the 2D elements where broken. Some of the
elements broken was buttons for controlling units and buttons for unit/building
production. Screenshots will follow in an attachment. Broken in this context
means that the images wasn't rendered correctly.
I searched the internet for a solution for the last few days without any luck.
Today I was using the open source graphic driver and noticed that it was able
to render 2D images correctly. That’s when I realised it must have been using a
different code path. With this new-found knowledge I realised that one of the
differences was the implementation of S3TC. A patent encumbered function which
compresses textures and which the open source version normally lacks. Firing up
google I soon found a fix to disable S3TC in wine. With S3TC disabled I no
longer experience any broken 2D images.
I'm using an Ati radeon 2000 series graphics card.
I'm stuck at fglrx 10.4 because of various driver bugs.
To enable the fix you need to build wine yourself. The patch itself just
changes one line and fools wine into thinking that S3TC isn’t supported by the
driver.
A real patch which would have 'fixed' this bug would have been by adding a
command line switch or a registry tweak which disabled S3TC. Implementing such
a patch is unfortunately beyond my wine knowledge.

Summary: EvE Online;Salvage Beams and Warp (or so i think) are
rendered incorrectly and cause a FPS drop
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.19
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: gajo01(a)gmail.com
As the summary says. salvage beams are rendered incorrectly: white garbled
textures instead of red light, and warp looks pixelated (i'm assuming these two
are caused by the same thing).
I'm using wine 1.1.19 patched with
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=20410, I have Nvidia 7600 GT (it
wouldn't render any models before applying those fixes). I'm runing 64bit
Archlinux, I'm using wine through 32 chrooted environment. In both the chrooted
environment and in the 64bit environment I'm using the same version of the
driver, the bug exhibits both on 185.19-2 (my current) and 180.44-1.
I've also talked in the ingame linux channel, and it seemed that someone else
is having the same problem (altough he has the same graphics card), reportedly
it started happening from the newest patch (I wouldn't know as I wasn't playing
the game).
I've tried nearly all sorts of eve options : shadows off/on, HDR off/on, Bloom
off/on, Dither off/on. The resulting images were taken with all of it off.

warp bug http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/8041/warp.jpg
(not so visible, but you can see that it's pixeleted if you look closly)
My config files:
xorg.conf http://codepad.org/MARyATJ5
important part of user.reg http://codepad.org/4F3IjOQ1
entire user.reg http://codepad.org/5hMhGnKF
glxinfo (glxinfo is the same in 64bit and 32bit chroot):
http://codepad.org/fPOKCSny
My error log: The error log also includes switches done when changing options,
not just the errors that happened while playing. Since the log is _huge_ (some
42MBs), i've decided to get the unique lines with uniq and sort them in
descending order, the first number displays occurances:
http://codepad.org/OduPtW1c
If you want a chronological order, let me know and I'll what I can do about it.
