Summary: SolidWorks 2008: sw2008-0.0-5.0-i.exe doesn't want to
unpack itself
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.2
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: lukasz.wojnilowicz(a)gmail.com
Steps to reproduce:
1) install SolidWorks 2008
2) try to install service pack by typing "wine sw2008-0.0-5.0-i.exe"
3) press unzip
Behaviour:
See attachment.
Expected behaviour:
sw2008-0.0-5.0-i.exe should unpack itself and swspmanager.exe should be run
afterwards.
Terminal output:
wineserver: file_set_error() can't map error: Function not implemented
Workaround:
Unpack sw2008-0.0-5.0-i.exe using "File Roller" and then start swspmanager.exe
This is regression but I don't know in which Wine version it occurred because
I'm not able to test anything below Wine 1.3.0.

In current git (after wine-1.1.43) the mouse cursor is not shown correctly
while playing Prey. Prior to the regression, while the game was loading the
cursor was changed to an hour glass. When the menu screen came up, the cursor
was changed to a game specific cursor. While playing the game the mouse cursor
was hidden hidden altogether.
With the regression in place, the mouse cursor does not change to an hour glass
while loading (it retains the one that matches my KDE theme). At the menu
screen, two mouse cursors are shown. One is the game provided cursor which
moves around the screen as you'd expect and the other is the one from KDE which
moves slightly but snaps back to the center when you move the mouse. When
playing the game, the same cursor remains on the screen and is not hidden.
A git bisect leaves us with:

This is a regression in the wine v1.1.31 (in v1.1.30 was ok): some (!) icons
inside the menu are showed dark close to black.
This is a regression. Unfortunately I cannot do a regression test. (I know how
to do it, because I did it for The Bat! more than twice in the past). wine
crash after compilation and I didn't reach the section of the bisection with
the wrong patch. So I installed wine v1.1.30 from archive, whre The Bat! was
working and than wine v1.1.31, where The Bat! show this behaviour. (And yes: I
use always an new ~/.wine).
Sorry for this late report: this bug is shown since the version v1.1.31 up to
now (v1.1.40).

Custom), but before copying any files, with a popup message box that says
"Installation ended prematurely because of an error." The console output and
the error log created by the installer both mention error code 1627.

installation log
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 stopped installing today, 20 Oct. 2008. A pop-up
window right at the beginning of the installation identified the problem as not
finding IE5 or later.
Adding sh winetricks fakeie6 does not allow the program to install. The same
error message comes up.
??It installed correctly yesterday.
I have been asked to run a regression test, which I will do using the following
parameters.
good wine-1.1.6-314-g36d0140
bad wine-1.1.6-379-g07badc7
I hope to do that tomorrow, and post the results.
I have also been asked to check a patch:
http://winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-October/063450.html
First instance says the patch does not solve the problem. Logs coming shortly.

The following commit breaks Office XP installer in an interesting way :
c261030d21eb7b9c3ae0e6e188321a0cfcffd0ff
msi: Convert command line property names to uppercase.
Before this commit, the installer nearly completes (albeit with some error
after components registration).
After this commit, the installer window now displays the license key, add a
step with EUCLA agreement window and later on, it aborts early in the
installation phase with the following error :
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"CADpc" returned 1603
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"ExecuteAction" returned 1603
This is a French version of Office XP with integrated multi-license key.

Summary: CDBurnerXP 3.0.x uses a wrong/invisible cursor on its
mode selection screen
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.44
Platform: x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Full terminal output
On the initial mode selection screen, the cursor sometimes disappears when
hovering over one of the options; at other times, it shows the default arrow
cursor. By moving the cursor up and down through different modes, you can see
it alternate between default/invisible at random. Neither behavior matches
Windows; it uses a 'pointer' cursor when hovering over a mode. This used to
work correctly, so I tried to do a regression test, but I ended up with:
There are only 'skip'ped commit left to test.
The first bad commit could be any of:
3044d734b1cd84746cc57ace8b79a156ea9391b1
776527f38f2ff89f354e49aa8df795440677376a

eed9c63ac7650293523da5c8d067c74258568ba8
We cannot bisect more!
Any of these builds resulted in the program terminating with an X error. This
cursor problem still happens in git, so I guess it's different from bug 22463
(marked fixed).
It might be worth noting that although none of these commits changed it, using
native oleaut32 works around the problem. Maybe this output that appears when
hovering over one of the mode options is relevant:
fixme:ole:OleIconToCursor (0x400000,0x100b0), partially implemented.
I'll leave component set to unknown for now.

Summary: Windows Platform SDK 2003 installer crashes
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.39
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: download, Installer, regression
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
The installer works here with 1.1.36, but fails with 1.1.39 and 1.2rc3.
The symptoms vary, but one is a crash with an invalid write to 0xfdfdfd09
while extracting "PSDK-PSDK-common.0[0]..cab".
When it works, it creates a windows.h somewhere; when it crashes,
there is no windows.h (nor a lot of other stuff).
Running with +heap,+relay is probably too slow to be practical.
Better to run a bisect, but I don't have time this morning.
I was about to use it, too, so this is a dogfood bug.
