Platform: Other
URL: http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-index.php?page=Kega

When the program first starts in windowed mode, the graphics in the application
window are shifted down to the bottom and to the right. On the desktop, the
further to the bottom and the right you move the Kega Fusion application
window, the further down and right the graphics move in the window.
Fullscreen mode is not affected by this bug.
Currently using NVidia 169.12 drivers on a Zotac 512MB AMP! Edition card but I
do know that the same problem occurred on my old computer using a Geforce 6200
card.
Below will be two picture attachments of my desktop showing the bug when I move
the application window around my desktop.

Get the demo from ftp://ftp.lucasarts.com/demos/pc/yodademo.exe for testing.
You can extract it with unzip if you don't want to go through the hassle of

Wine draws double identical titlebars under the following circumstances:
- Download http://www.bibledit.org/downloads/olb_beta_39020.exe and install it.
- Run ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Bible/Olb.Exe a couple of times.
- Notice that most of the times wine draws double identical titlebars.
The application has been written in Delphi.
The programmer of the application says that the version above has "Vista
Themes" switched on.
If the same application has Vista Themes off, then no double titlebars are
drawn.
If the application window is mazimized while it has double titlebars, it
reverts to drawing one titlebar only.

Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mc2374(a)mclink.it
Starting from wine 1.1.31, the game always hangs quickly after starting a
campaign scenario or a previously saved game.
Sometimes the sound starts stuttering and sometimes it does not; in any case
the game crashes and the console shows the following message:
err:seh:setup_exception_record nested exception on signal stack in thread 0009
eip 7efb2d50 esp 7ffdbc7c stack 0x242000-0x340000
Segmentation fault.
This seems a sound related thing and a regression for wine 1.1.31, because:
* disabling entirely the sound in wine (i.e. unchecking all the drivers in the
audio tab of wineconfig) fixes the problem: homm3 works fine, without any
sound;
* reverting to wine 1.1.30 also makes the problem disappear: homm3 works fine
with sound (as it did for me until wine 1.1.31).
The hang and the error message are very similar to those described in bug
#15195, but for homm3 they were absent before wine 1.1.31.

The game offers both OpenGL and DirectX modes (via command line switches).
OpenGL mode works fine both in fullscreen and windowed mode. DirectX mode works
only in fullscreen mode.
In DirectX windowed mode the game shows only an empty/black window (while sound
is playing and apparently the menu is available because mouse clicks do work
but you cant see anything).
To reproduce the problem in the demo:
After installation start the demo like that:
wine Wildhollow.exe -d -w
Other command line parameters:
-f fullscreen mode
-w windowed mode
-g use OpenGL
-d use DirectX
The same problem with Wine-1.0.1, 1.2.3 and so on.

I am having problem printing in Landscape mode. I have a program that requires
landscape printing. I have a Canon ip2770 attached directly to my machine, and
is configured properly in Cups, correct driver and all. Linux OpenOffice and
gedit works perfectly in Portrait and Landscape printing.
In Wine, Portrait printing works perfectly for my program and the Wine Notepad.
However, in both my program and the Wine Notepad, printing in Landscape will
print the document skewed to the right, thus giving me a a good 3 inches of
white space on the left side of the paper and my document is cut off when it
reaches end of paper.
I have tried with this with multiple printers, HP Deskjet and 2 Epson
Dot-Matrix and it is all the same way. Is this a bug in Wine handling landscape
modes? My Wine version is 1.3.9 and OS is Ubuntu 10.04, paper size is US Legal.
Please help.

While figurinig out the kinks to get Love working, I had to patch the Alsa

The thread about that process is available here:

AppDB entry for the game:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=11327
To summarize, my understanding is that love.exe tries to open the sound device
twice. It works if you use the esound backend, and after a bit of investigation
we found that applying the attached patch would make things work with the Alsa
backend as well (e.g. change the return code from MMSYSERR_ALLOCATED to
MMSYSERR_NOERROR).

in Wine-1.1.24 after a variable amount of play time. The error always starts
with:
wine(6017,0xa022e720) malloc: *** mmap(size=16777216) failed (error code=12)
*** error: can't allocate region
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
This is repeated 6/8/10 times, size always 16MB, followed by a crash like:
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x0000003c at address 0x7305cadb
(thread 0018), starting debugger...
The backtrace shows nothing particular.
The machine is an "early 2009" Mac mini 2GHz core duo with Nvidia 9400 graphics
processor. Using Mac OS X 10.5.8 and XQuartz 2.3.3.2. So this is a strict 32bit
system.
The crashes occur sometimes after half an hour, sometime after an hour of game
play. I'm pretty confident that the RAM upgrade is the cause because
- no SW upgrade of any kind was done around that time
(let's hope I got no trojan),
- I'm using LSW2 in wine-1.1.24 with a prefix distinct from
my git snapshot work,
- the app has been very stable in the past (the children played for hours),
- another app started failing as well (see next comment),
- syslogs prove the mmap failures began following the RAM upgrade,
- the crashes appear in levels the children played in the past, not new ones,
- such a huge RAM upgrade affects the memory mapping. Among others, the Nvidia
chip is said to make use of more main memory when the machine has more than 1GB
RAM (256MB? instead of 128MB).
Obviously the machine is not running out of memory. It now has more than
before. Instead, I believe this confirms the hypothesis about running out of
address space, c.f. R. Colenbrander in bug #13335, comment #96.
I have no reasons to believe that the new RAM is faulty. The machine is very
stable and only 2 apps in Wine are affected. I'm not going to remove the RAM
because of the effort it was to open the Mac mini box (the back sat so tight
that you couldn't slide in a putty knife, not even a sheet of paper).
Perhaps somebody knows a SW tool that can simulate a Mac equipped with 1GB RAM
only?
Few people ever reported the dependency of the mmap failure on the amount of
RAM. http://forums.adobe.com/message/1875853 mentions a perhaps similar failure
with native Photoshop.
Because of bug #22029 I cannot test the app in current Wine. It's unfortunate
that this mmap issue affects wine-1.1.24 because this release was excellent at
3D games with the 1GB Mac Mini.

Summary: Missing nul termination in string passed to callback

It looks like an argument between len and null-terminated strings.
RtlQueryRegistryValues calls a user-supplied callback whose first
parameter is to a nul-terminated string... but it passes pInfo->Name,
which is not nul-terminated. (It comes from NtEnumerateValueKey,
and has a corresponding NameLength member.)
So... either we need to copy Name to a new buffer and terminate
it before calling the callback, or NtEnumerateValueKey needs
to silently nul-terminate Name. I guess it's time for another
conformance test.
(This error was seen before by Valgrind, but with a slightly
less informative description.)

Civilization IV beyond the sword is crashing at startup after message display
"Init XML(cached)"
For me it looks like a regression as I have just shifted from wine 1.1.22 to
1.1.23 and it worked fine before my Ubuntu upgrade
I am currently compiling wine to try to do some regression tests as you
indicate on the site. I already post the description to see if somebody else
has the same problem

Any animation in Devil May Cry 4 is stuttering. Record video to show how it's
look is necessary?
How I can create backtrace with information about calls to video driver?
Backtrace with default settings is attached.
