crash log (cflag -O2)
The games available from Sandlot Games come with a launcher. The launcher
crashes on start with Gecko-1.2.0 installed.
I noticed that the crash happens if Wine was compiled with CFLAGS >=-O1. (-O2
as well as -O1 produce the same crash).
If I compile Wine with -O0 the launcher starts without crashing.
I always compile Wine from source but this time I gave a try to the Wine
package, available from the Fedora repository (currently 1.3.20 is in the
repos): the same crash happened on game launch.
If I install ie6 (via winetricks) no crash occurs on launch.

terminal output
I cannot get past the main menu in Spectromancer: as if mouse clicks didn't
register when clicking on any of the menu items.
To reproduce the problem in the demo:
After launching the demo only the background is drawn: you have to click on the
lower left part of the screen and the menu appears. Here comes the trouble:
after clicking on any of the menu items nothing happens. Oddly enough if you
press the <ESC> button and the left mouse button in turn, while the mouse is
over one of the menu options, the corresponding window flashes for a brief
moment but it vanishes almost instantly.
The same problem happens back until Wine-1.2-rc2. Previous versions don't even
start the game correctly.

Summary: Bottom of windows cut of with KDE4 Dual-Head Setup

I am running a KDE4 dual-head setup, i.e. two parallel monitors, on Gentoo.
I have the KDE control bar displayed only on the left screen.
When I start MS Word 2007 via wine 1.1.37 and place it on the right screen
(which does not have the control bar!) I can see a cut off bottom when I
maximize the window via the window manager.
I will attach two screenshots:
- The first shows a window which fits to the screen as if there was also a
control bar on the right screen.
- The second shows a maximized window on the right screen with the bottom cut
off
Note:
I also tried to manually resize the window to the maximum of the screen.
This basically works at first, but when you change between applications, the
bottom of the manually resized window is also cut off.

Terminal output for Bioshock 2 launcher -- release date check
Upon first launch Bioshock 2 will connect to the internet and attempt to
validate the release date. This gets stuck at 30% and never completes.
Sometimes it times out with an error.
I should note that some web searching shows this occurs sometimes on Windows as
well, and that there is a manual workaround if needed:
http://www.digitalworksweb.com/securomsupport/bioshock2_unlock_rc/
Looking at the terminal output points to some unimplemented information classes
in ntdll as the most likely culprit.

Hi -
Starting with 1.3.18, and persisting through 1.3.19, when I click on a window
in Eve (the game has windows that you can move around, like a window manager),
the mouse does not "let go", and acts like I'm holding down the button.
Normally, you can click-and-drag to adjust window sizes and placement in the
game. However, when I let go of the mouse button, the game does not notice.
1.3.17 is not affected.
Amd64, Gentoo 2.6.37-r1, Ati fglrx driver 11.4.
Thanks!

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27339
Summary: improper last error code set by GetUserNameW
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.20
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: advapi32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: kevin.hendricks(a)sympatico.ca
There is a small bug in the wine implementation of GetUserNameW (and the same
fix is needed in GetUserNameA to make it compatible with the needed change).
>From wine:
dlls/advapi32/advapi.c starting at line 92
if (len > *lpSize)
{
SetLastError(ERROR_MORE_DATA);
*lpSize = len;
return FALSE;
}
It seems the actual Window's implementation of GetUserNameW sets the last error
to 122 not 234 which maps to ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER and not ERROR_MORE_DATA
when the buffer size to write the username to is too small.
This bug prevents the username from being properly read in all version of of
Kindle for PC when run under wine. The Kindle for PC code allocates a buffer
of 1 wchar and then calls GetUserNameW and upon error checks for the 122 error
code (insufficient buffer) and if needed doubles the buffer size in question
and tries again. It does not understand the 234 error code at all and so will
error out unable to read the user's username.
The K4PC code luckily ignores the improper last error code value and simply
replaces the username with the string "AlternateUserName" so the
KindleForPC.exe will actually still work under wine even though this bug
exists. The problem is that this bug actually changes how the DRM is created
on the ebook as the Kindle DRM is tied to both the user's username and the
volume serial number, making it impossible to post-process any ebook under
wine.
Please fix this routine (and GetUserNameA which uses it) to use the last error
code set to ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER when the buffer size is too small to
match what the Window's code does in this case.
