To test, install with winetricks from svn using 'wintricks win95 ie3' or follow steps 1-3 from bug 28829. Installation and testing instructions: 1. Change the reported Windows version to Windows 95. 2. Add global native,builtin overrides for these: iexplore.exe, jscript, mshtml, shdocvw 3. Add a shell32=disabled override for infinst2.exe only. 4. Run the installer, leave all settings at default, and allow it to restart at the end. 5. On the first run, disable the default browser check. It will then crash from an unimplemented function in (native) shdocvw. 6. Then, it outputs an error on startup and exits: Run-time error '445': Object doesn't support this action (At least, most of the time. I sometimes get "X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)" instead.) Native wshom.ocx (+dependency scrrun.dll) and oleaut32 works around it. Everything after the first sentence of the section "the 3D look" is scrunched to the left. Terminal output doesn't look useful: fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100 A workaround is winetricks riched20. (The file isn't displayed completely correctly after this, but it isn't scrunched anymore.) The override it adds for riched32 can be removed without the problem reappearing; only riched20 needs to be native.
