Setting hl2.exe to Windows 98 now works again, at least in HL2DM.

Hate to add more noise, but I fixed my own issue. Not sure if this will cause
issues again with crashing, but the HUD mod needs a fairly large section added
to make the scoreboard visible.
See: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1329454
Not sure how to make this consistent with the one already added as an
attachment here. Perhaps someone that knows what they're supposed to be looking
at can tell us. So far it seems to work fine with the additions from the link
above.

Unfortunately this bug seems to exist still, at least as of wine-1.4-rc2. It
basically makes the game unplayable for me because the crashing is so random
and frequent.
I tried the HUD modification as a possible work around but it causes the fonts
on the scoreboard (when you press tab in-game) to be invisible. Perhaps it
relies on a font I don't have? I did install the MS core fonts, so not sure
what's going on there.

output of WINEDEBUG=+relay,-debug wine ./SETUP.EXE
This regression was introduced between wine 1.1.35-release and 1.1.36-release.
To reproduce, download the two zip files listed in the applications AppDB entry
(links below). Unzip them in a new directory, enter the directory and
execute 'wine ./SETUP.exe'. A messagebox with the message "DDE requires
ddeml.dll" appears. This does not happen when using wine 1.1.35.
The application in question is the game "Mordor - the depths of Dejenol",
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=8673&iTestingI…
Although it did not fully work with previous Wine versions, it was more
functional than now.

I'm pretty sure this is not a pulseaudio issue as it's been occurring for
years, though I haven't reported it until now.
In Full Tilt Poker you can hear a few sounds - a slight ding when it's your
turn, the sound of cards being delt, and chips stacking. In Wine, however,
they stop completely after about 4 or 5 hands have been played.

Running the primordial nucleosynthesis simulations in S103 works right up until
the same point, when trying to react helium-3 with hydrogen-2, at which point a
page fault occurs and the app exits.
Looks like a problem with Quicktime 2 32-bit (required).
