If you query for bugs older than 180 days, this is true: http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?chfieldto=Now&query_format=advanced&chfi… 0 results. However, if you take a date ranged query and examine individual issues, then you notice that this rule does not work in practice. In this example take all open issues from 2006: http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&type0-1-0=lessthan… For example bug 5552 was updated, according entries, the last time more than a year ago. However, it was modified in 2011-11-23 when a component was changed by a wine maintainer/developer. The conclusion: The policy, that states that bugs should closed if there has been no activity for 6 months, does not work in practice because changes in components by maintainers are recorded as changes to bugs, whereas imho only logger and solver changes should qualify for changes. Therefore a lot of old bugs that should be marked as abandoned, but are just sticking in bugzilla forever, because 6 moth query is hiding them from helping hands. Instead, the alert stays on forever, and the game locks up. The only way out is to force a power down of the computer and to turn it back on. Sometimes, this results in the data loss on the FAT32 partition the game is on. Such KDE alerts are as follows: -- a large bubble identifying the program the arrow is pointing at in the taskbar -- a bubble in kopete messenger indicating the message the sender is sending -- a box from kopete indicating one's online status.
