terminal output
The game crashes after playing the 2 intro videos without native dxdiagn.dll.
After the crash the game opens a crash report file in notepad and generates a
minidump file. Removing videos doesn't help.
Can be reproduced with the demo version as well, just skip the DirectX
installation step (or set dxdiagn=builtin).

Summary: DVD Flick 1.0.3.X freezes when adding a video file
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.9

OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement

ReportedBy: protomank(a)gmail.com
DVD Flick is a very good open-source Windows app for creating DVDs. The 1.0.2.X
version works fine in Wine, but the new, 1.0.3 version have two problems:
- fonts are too small (if you install some extra windows fonts the problem
diminishes, but still not good)
- freeze when adding a video to the project.
Sadly, for #2, no message is seen in prompt (and I do not know how to use
winedbg, sorry), it just stops executing without any output for the user.
According to DVD Flick author, no changes in the video import were made, only
the ffmpeg version was upgraded.
(I'll try to put the old one over the new to test today).

Batman Arkham Asylum demo log with Catalyst 11.11
I'm not sure if this is a real Wine bug or just a Catalyst bug. If it is a
Catalyst bug, sorry for bothering you :)
In a fresh wineprefix, I have configured Wine (1.3.33) to run in windowed mode,
in 1024x768 resolution. After that, I have installed Batman Arkham Asylum demo
(http://cdn2.netops.eidosinteractive.com/batmanarkhamasylum/BMDemo_installer…).
Then, I have installed dotnet20 with winetricks (as .NET is needed to run the
game). Due to bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20651, I also have to
add in "installed Batman Demo directory"/BmGame/Config/UserEngine.ini:
[Engine.Engine]
Language=int
Once all this is done, executing "installed Batman Demo
directory"/Binaries/ShippingPC-BmGame.exe with Catalyst 11.5 shows a Batman
image and then the intro videos (bink videos) start.
However, with Catalyst 11.6 and newer (the newest at the time of this writing
is 11.11, and it shows the problem too) instead of the intro videos a black
screen appears. If I change to other window and then show the Wine desktop
again, the game window is not refreshed (I mean, the contents of the game
window are those of the window I showed over it).
My graphics card is an Ati Radeon HD 4890.
I have attached the Wine log. Note that the "^C" in the eighth line from the
end was caused by a Ctrl-C in the console to stop the game.
I don't know what other information is needed, so please ask :)

Hello,
after getting past bug 16883 the next one...
Prerequisites:
---
1. clean WINEPREFIX
2. sh mywinetricks -q wmicore
3. sh winetricks -q dotnet20
4. download .NET 3.0 Framework installer from: http://download.microsoft.com
/download/4/d/a/4da3a5fa-ee6a-42b8-8bfa-ea5c4a458a7d/dotnetfx3setup.exe

5. export _SFX_CAB_SHUTDOWN_REQUEST=1 (workaround, see bug 9158)
6. wine ./dotnetfx3setup.exe
It might take a while until all required packages are downloaded using BITS.
Note: If you need to redo steps, backup the directory "dotnetfx304506.30" from
"c:\\windows\\temp" to a different location, remove ~/.wine, copy
"dotnetfx304506.30" again to "c:\\windows\\temp" to prevent BITS from
downloading over and over again.

Oh joy, LSA again ...
There already exist other bugs falling into same problem domain, example: bug
16418
If developer resources are short maybe this could be part of some SoC project:
making transition from current approach towards LSA rpc interface and lsass
(and fleshing out stubs of course).
http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/articles/win_net_srv/msrpc_lsarpc.html
I fleshed the stub a bit just for proof and it gets the WCF installer further.

Hello,
after getting past bug 16888 another subinstaller "Windows Workflow Foundation"
fails, claiming ".NET 2.0 Framework is required".
This is of course already installed as part of prerequisite.
Prerequisites:

2. sh mywinetricks -q wmicore
3. sh winetricks -q dotnet20
4. download .NET 3.0 Framework installer from: http://download.microsoft.com

The corresponding logfile "dd_WF_3.0_x86retMSI48DE.txt" reveals nothing, it's
empty.
Using ORCA on "WF_3.0_x86.msi" shows that MsiNetAssemblySupport >="2.0.50727"
condition needs to be satisfied.
The "MsiNetAssemblySupport" property should be set in set_msi_assembly_prop()
but it doesn't seem so.

--- snip ---
Looking into "C:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v3.0\\fusion.dll" path
there is no native fusion.dll.
Hence Wine's builtin fusion.dll is loaded by LoadLibraryExW().
The builtin fusion doesn't contain version resource so it fails.
This is a subtile problem: adding version resource to Wine's fusion might cause
problems because every .NET Framework might ship it's own version of fusion
which ought to override builtin fusion.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa370325.aspx
Usually:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\fusion.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\fusion.dll
AFAIK .NET 3.0 and 3.5 don't bring their own fusion version (someone might
check a real Windows installation with these Frameworks present).
The problem is how dlls/msi/package.c:get_fusion_filename() works.
At the point where the installation fails the following registry data is
present at the location get_fusion_filename() reads:
--- snip ---
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v2.0.50727]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework

"ReferenceInstallPath"="C:\\Program Files\\Reference
Assemblies\\Microsoft\\Framework\\v3.0\\"
"RuntimeInstallPath"="C:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v3.0\\Windows

"Version"="3.0.04506.30"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework
Setup\NDP\v3.0\Setup\Windows Presentation Foundation]
@="Windows Presentation Foundation"
"InstallRoot"="C:\\windows\\Microsoft.Net\\Framework\\v3.0\\WPF\\"

"WPFReferenceAssembliesPathx86"="C:\\Program Files\\Reference
Assemblies\\Microsoft\\Framework\\v3.0\\"
--- snip ---
I don't know how Windows msi does MsiNetAssemblySupport.
Maybe a check for real existence of (native) fusion.dll to prevent false load
of "builtin" fusion is better.
If native fusion is not present in full path, that .NET Framework subkey data
(version) can't be used for MsiNetAssemblySupport property.

minimum required stubs are as follows:

HttpQueryServiceConfiguration -> return ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (2) (most likely
means the service not installed, passed args can be left untouched with this

Ok, lets leave the WMI failures aside (despite having native WMI core

That GetServiceKeyNameW() API failure seems to be ok because the app passes the
key name itself "idsvc" and not the service display name.
The following GetServiceDisplayNameW() also fails, leading to app
error/exception.
If you look closer, you see svcctl_GetServiceDisplayNameW (L"idsvc", 1) ->
buffer length "1" passed.
This is clearly not what the app intended.
The app reuses the length parameter from GetServiceKeyNameW(), passing it again
into GetServiceDisplayNameW() but Wine changed it to "1" which seems incorrect.

This doesn't look right, a conformance test case should reveal the correct
behaviour.
I already verified this with a patch.

When installing Impulse with current git (wine-1.1.32-499-gffb2cfc), there is a
crash in file setsdaff.exe, but installer continues and reports that it
finished successfully. Another thing I noticed: after installation some
processes remains in memory, they are mscorsvw.exe (disappear aprox. 5-10
later) and rpcss.exe (remains there until killed).
Impulse needs dotnet20, I installed it with winetricks. After installation
Impulse starts, but cannot connect to server, bug 15486.
I did some search on the Stardock forums and it looks like even some windows
users had similar problem, in their case this was caused by broken .NET
install, .NET re-installation or update solved this.

Summary: ole32.CoGetClassObject: threads without apartment should
use existing MTA
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.18

=fe6f2099-b7b4-4f47-a244-c96d69c35dec

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: ole32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: focht(a)gmx.net
Hello,
there are apps which use free threaded COM (inproc) servers and call
CoGetClassObject() from (new) threads that do not explicitly initialize COM.
This is valid behaviour when one of the existing threads already created the
MTA by calling CoInitializeEx(NULL, COINIT_MULTITHREADED).
See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/150777
--- quote ---
Current implementations of COM allow a thread that does not explicitly
initialize COM to be a part of the MTA. A thread that does not initialize COM
is part of the MTA only if it starts using COM after at least one other thread
in the process has previously called CoInitializeEx(NULL,
COINIT_MULTITHREADED). (It is even possible that COM itself may have
initialized the MTA when no client thread has explicitly done so; for example,
a thread associated with an STA calls CoGetClassObject/CoCreateInstance[Ex] on
a CLSID that is marked "ThreadingModel=Free" and COM implicitly creates an MTA
into which the class object is loaded.) See the information on threading model
interoperability below.
However, this is a configuration that might cause problems, such as access
violations, under certain circumstances. Therefore, it is strongly recommended
that each thread that needs to do COM work initialize COM by calling
CoInitializeEx and then, on completion of COM work, call CoUninitialize. The
cost of "unnecessarily" initializing an MTA is minimal.
--- quote ---
An example app suffering from this is the managed console debugger from .NET
2.0 SDK "cordbg.exe":
When trying to debug a simple console C# app created with symbols (.pdb
format):
--- snip ---
wine "C:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v2.0.50727\\csc.exe" /debug+
foo.cs
--- snip ---
Start debugger:
--- snip ---
wine "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft.NET\\SDK\\v2.0\\Bin\\cordbg.exe foo.exe"
--- snip ---
The debugger will immediately begin to execute the app - not halting in Main()
method (source).
This is because symbol information can't be loaded using COR symbol binder
which lives in a free threaded COM inproc server.
0A29FF9E-7F9C-4437-8B11-F424491E3931 -> CLSID_CorSymBinder
Threads 0x38 (main) and 0x36 call "CoInitializeEx" with COINIT_MULTITHREADED,
creating the MTA.
Thread 0x3b is created later as pooled thread - part of MTA - to serve CLR
debugger requests (work items).
That thread never makes any init calls to COM (verified).

Hello,
another problem from app in bug 24875 which deserves an extra bug.
The app still fails with wine-1.5.7-252-g1f01355
The problems seems to be a WMI -> .NET type conversion problem of "ProcessId"
property value.
"InvalidCastException" is thrown

MapWmiValueToValue converts WMI values (wrapped in object) to native .NET value
(wrapped in object) with type conversion if necessary.
MSDN claims "ProcessId" is CIM_UINT32/uint32.
The following link shows example "ProcessId" property dump with 'wbemdump'
tool:
http://nukz.net/reference/wmi/hh/wmisdk/wbemdump_8wft.htm
--- snip ---
wbemdump /Q /wy root\cimv2 WQL "SELECT ProcessId
FROM Win32_process WHERE Name = 'Winmgmt.exe'"
This command produces the following output:
(WQL) SELECT ProcessId FROM Win32_Process WHERE Name = 'Winmgmt.exe'
ProcessId (CIM_UINT32/uint32) = 644 (0x284)
--- snip ---
For CIM_UINT32 type there seems to be 'unboxing' taking place:
net_value = (uint)((int)(wmi_value))
I extracted a small C# snippet from the app .NET assembly which can be used for
easy reproduction of the problem.
Save the following snippet to a text file (ex: "test.cs"):
--- snip test.cs ---
using System;
using System.Collections;
using System.Management;
class TestProgram
{
[STAThread]
static void Main(string[] args)
{
using (ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new
ManagementObjectSearcher("Select * from Win32_Process"))
{
new ManagementScope(@"root\CIMV2");
foreach (ManagementObject obj2 in searcher.Get())
{
string str = obj2["ProcessId"].ToString();
}
}
}
}
--- snip test.cs ---
Compile it with C# compiler which is present if you installed .NET 2.0
Framework (winetricks).
--- snip ---
$ wine "C:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v2.0.50727\\csc.exe" /debug+
test.cs
--- snip ---
Run and get the same backtrace as with installer.
The problem is CIMTYPE -> OLE Variant type conversion.

The unbox failure let me guess that CIM_UINT32 doesn't map to VT_UI4 but to
VT_I4.
Google "CIM_UINT32 VT_I4" and hit the first link -> book "Developing Wmi
Solutions: A Guide to Windows Management ..."
Bingo! There is a table which shows the type mapping (BTW good WMI resource to
read...)
uint32 - VT_I4 - CIM_UINT32
While you're at it you might want to fix other type conversions (CIM_UINT16
...) according to the table.

Hello,
now that some urlmon MIME support patches are on the way which are essential
for this app ("text/xml" MIME is later needed to show XML content in embedded
browser window) I file an "intermediate" bug that needs to be fixed before we
can verify the new functionality with real apps ;-)
The story is basically about in-place activation and deactivation of embedded
browser control.
The current shdocvw OleInPlaceObject_InPlaceDeactivate stub is mostly harmless
for many embedded browser control hosting apps because they don't rely on the
fact that in-place deactivation doesn't really take place (control will be
destroyed shortly anyway).
This app use case is a bit special hence the current in-place deactivation stub
becomes the culprit.
Steps to reproduce:
1. clean WINEPREFIX
2. winetricks -q dotnet20
3. start app, "Font files" -> "Add..." -> select whatever true/opentype font
from your system
4. "Table tests" -> "Clear All" -> select only "BASE" (shortens test)
5. "Rasterization" -> deselect "Test rasterization of TrueType outlines"
(shortens test)
6. hit "Start validation"
The .NET 2.0 app creates an embedded browser control:

The activate_inplace() OLE verb bails out early because Wine thinks the control
is in-place activated (This->inplace) -> real in-place deactivation never took
place.
.NET runtime tries to fetch hosted control's window handle which fails because
no parent switch was done.
Adding simple in-place deactivation (releasing IOleInPlaceSite, resetting
This->inplace) lets this app succeed, having windows properly
switched/re-parented.

Unfortunately, in the case of dlls with manifests, it reports it can't find

What it needs is a good dose of the medicine that cured the same problem
in winetest:

A quick test shows that this works. I'll send a patch soon.

The table row count (number of processor items) is not set hence class object

Hello,
this is a bug covering Hans' patch http://source.winehq.org/patches/data/86357
'winetricks dotnet40' recipe currently contains 'gacutil' workaround/hack for

Using Hans' patch and setting 'fusion=builtin' before running the .NET 4.0
installer gets .NET 4.0 assemblies installed into GAC.
The installer actually succeeds which is an improvement over the current
"workaround" recipe.
There is a difference though.
With Hans' patch all .NET 4.0 assemblies get installed into:
--- snip ---
$ pwd
/home/focht/.wine/drive_c/windows/assembly
...
$ ls */*

Starting with .NET 4.0 there exist two global assembly caches - the "public"
one and a "private" one for the Framework.
In previous versions, all .NET assemblies were installed into
"C:\\windows\\assembly".
With .NET 4.0 the assemblies are further split.
The "private" GAC for 4.0 is located in "c:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\assembly".
See: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd727509.aspx
("Understanding The CLR Binder")
--- quote ---
In .NET Framework 4.0, the GAC went through a few changes. The concept of
placing assemblies into a global directory began in CLR v1.1. In case of .NET
Framework 1.1 (which had CLR v1.1) and .NET Framework 2.0 (which had CLR 2.0),
the GAC was split into two, one for each CLR. This avoided the leaking of
assemblies across CLR versions. For example, if both .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0
shared the same GAC, then a .NET 1.1 application, loading an assembly from this
shared GAC, could get .NET 2.0 assemblies, thereby breaking the .NET 1.1
application.
The CLR version used for both .NET Framework 2.0 and .NET Framework 3.5 is CLR
2.0. As a result of this, there was no need in the previous two framework
releases to split the GAC. The problem of breaking older (in this case, .NET
2.0) applications resurfaces in Net Framework 4.0 at which point CLR 4.0
released. Hence, to avoid interference issues between CLR 2.0 and CLR 4.0, the
GAC is now split into private GACs for each runtime.
Tools such as GACUtil and Shfusion will behave exactly the same as they did in
pre–.NET Framework 4.0 scenarios. Also, the behavior of publisher policy
(explicitly mentioned, since it is required to install these policy files to
the GAC) will not change. The main change is that CLR v2.0 applications now
cannot see CLR v4.0 assemblies in the GAC.
...
--- quote ---
With the current 'winetricks dotnet40' recipe and help of .NET 4.0 'gacutil'
the assemblies live in "private" GAC:
--- snip ---
$ pwd
/home/focht/.wine/drive_c/windows/Microsoft.NET/assembly
...
$ ls */*
GAC_MSIL/UIAutomationProvider:
v4.0_4.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35
GAC_MSIL/UIAutomationTypes:
v4.0_4.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35
GAC_MSIL/WindowsBase:
v4.0_4.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35
GAC_MSIL/WindowsFormsIntegration:
v4.0_4.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35
--- snip ---
"public" GAC with no previous .NET versions installed:
--- snip ---
$ ls assembly/
PublisherPolicy.tme pubpol1.dat temp tmp
--- snip ---
There are some problems when 'fusion' remains set to 'builtin' after
installation though that will be subject to other bugs.
If the .NET 4.0 'private' GAC location is fixed one can safely remove
'fusion=builtin' workaround after running the installer and have a functional
.NET Framework installation running with native mscoree/fusion.
This allows to get rid of 'gacutil' hack.

Bug #: 30758
Summary: .NET 4.0 installer/CLR native ngen.exe runs into

Hello,
with bug 30707 is fixed all .NET 4.0 assemblies are now installed when using
"fusion=builtin,native".
As already written, an additional "ngen=builtin" is needed for install process
to avoid native ngen.exe being called which wants this unimplemented fusion
API.
It's not really harmful as these deferred assembly -> GAC install steps have
already been carried out by msi install itself but it might confuse/scare users
looking at terminal output, spotting "unimplemented function
fusion.dll.InitializeFusion, aborting".

After winetricks install recipe is finished, "fusion=builtin,native" override

This allows for GAC rebuild/updates or later installation of assemblies that

For example to trigger manual GAC rebuild/update:

Summary: Add support for network connectivity checks using
Network List Manager (NLM) API (Vista+)

Version: 1.5.1
Platform: x86

Hello,
feature bug (for now).
There are applications that make use of Network List Manager (NLM) introduced
with Windows Vista/Windows 7 to check for network connectivity.
A symptom are messages like this in terminal:
--- snip ---
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {dcb00c01-570f-4a9b-8d69-199fdba5723b} not

MSDN overview:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee264321%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
Network List Manager:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa370803%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
Example applications: newer EA Download Manager versions, some EA Games
(Battlefield 3, FIFA12), Windows Live Essentials 2011
It seems plausible that they use an API that ought to be available on this
platform.
Failure doesn't seem critical, they use other means to detect network state.
Though I didn't test all of them.
This bug can serve as collector for apps that spam terminal with
"{dcb00c01-570f-4a9b-8d69-199fdba5723b}" (CLSID_NetworkListManager) messages.
Maybe there will be one where this missing functionality is actually breaking
the app.

due to the result triggered by aforementioned 1st error.

oleauto32.QueryPathOfRegTypeLib() doesn't work correctly when (major.minor) =

MSDN doesn't mention such condition so this obviously needs some test case to
find out what logic is used to select the best match (first? last? lowest?
highest?).
dll/oleaut32/typelib.c:find_typelib_key() needs to be fixed accordingly.
"wMaj" needs to be made an "out" parameter too to actually return best matching
maj.min pair
With this part fixed it goes further - only to stumble into next bug ;-)

says "winetricks dotnet30" works but says there is a "large delay near

but with current wine, it aborts after a few seconds instead.
Looking in c:/users/$LOGNAME/Temp, I see dd_dotnetfx3error.txt which says
[01/30/10,16:19:12] XPSEPSC x86 Installer: [2] Error code 1603 for this

and dd_XPS.txt (?) which says STR_FAILED_INF_INTEGRITY.
Could this be the same regression as bug 21542?

return type: most likely boolean (like the other known userenv API).
Armed with this information one can add a simple stub, export with ordinal 138,
-noname and 12 ptr params, name it whatever you like.
If you find any documented name, feel free to use it.
If we fake the stub to return FALSE, following messages will be logged to:

So this API is most likely some Lnk creation stuff.
Anyway, that simple stub is sufficient to let the installer proceed with its
post-install steps.
In the end, the installer runs into bug 16876 (bug in property sheet control).

Hello,
this bug id exists for the sole purpose of showing my little journey of getting
.NET 2.0 to work in wine.
This topic does *NOT* cover the MONO project in any way.
The windows version of MONO is covered by other bug reports.
DISCLAIMER: This is just a first step which aims at major show stoppers.
There are *many* issues left when it comes to managed (JIT) vs. unmanaged
(native) API code bridging.
To iron out all the bugs, many different applications are needed which cover
the whole range of .NET Framework.
I randomly chose a simple .NET 2.0 app which uses plain system.windows.forms
stuff (no fancy controls/interop).

http://www.paehl.de/fastmd5_net20.zip
FASTMD5 create very fast with low CPU use a MD5 hash. Required .NET 1.1 or 2.0
--- snip ---
Just as foreword: yes, it plain sucks to debug mixed code in wine (managed +
unmanaged) because the tools required don't work reliable (or at all) due to
several wine bugs/design problems.
Prerequisite: successful installation of .NET 2.0 Framework and wine-0.9.49 (or
GIT)

If you start .NET apps they will fail with stack overflows and some exceptions
thrown.
The exception type tells us what we are dealing with: 0xe0434f4d
For the uninitiated: this an exception type exclusively thrown by .NET common
language runtime (CLR).
Using my specially hacked wine to run tools like windbg one can get a raw

--- snip ---
Some native method call in GetNativeTextInfo() seems to be the culprit.
For many (string) resource based stuff to work, a unicode OS casing table is
required.
The table for the invariant version is built from external .NLS file.
To make story short: wine does not ship the default case mapping table for
unicode characters: "l_intl.nls".
This is a "must" requirement and failure results in early
TypeInitializationException while setting up default application domain.
Short fix: copy the file from your windows system32 directory to wine system32.
Long run fix: let wine generate/install this file. Not a big deal.
Now simple .NET _console_ based apps (like "Hello World") will work.
---------------------------------------
Stay tuned, more goodies to come ...

Hello,
continuation of bug 30072
The installer now aborts due to missing "wusa.exe" executable.
I didn't find any installer on MS downloads that contains this standalone
component (only updates).
With a stub executable provided the installer is happy:

At least the .NET Framework 4.5 installation finishes without further critical
error in basic ui or silent mode.
Although .NET Framework 4.5 is an update of .NET Framework 4.0, no previous
install of .NET Framework 4.0 is required (winetricks -q dotnet40).
One problem will turn up later: mscoree.dll is still builtin (Mono
placeholder/fake) which will prevent from loading CLR.
Actually this component gets updated through
"Windows6.1-KB958488-v6001-x86.msu" (Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Shared ->
KB958488) Windows6.1-KB958488-x86.cab.
Due to wusa.exe stub this update is skipped.
Maybe a winetricks recipe will take care of that in future (manually
extracting/unpacking the missing dlls from msu).

example patch to add loadperf.dll and simple UnloadPerfCounterTextStringsW stub
preventing .NET 1.1 installer exception
Hello,
VS.NET 7.x installers modify AeDebug which results in error message box from
.NET Framework 1.1 installer due to an unhandled exception.
With default AeDebug Auto=1 and standalone .NET 1.1 installation you won't
notice it because this exception doesn't affect overall "success" result of
installer.
You can capture output from console to see winedbg actually spawned.
VS.NET 7.x installers add/modify the following JIT debugging keys:
--- snip ---
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug\Debugger
Auto: 1 -> 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\DbgManagedDebugger

Filemaker 9 runs perfectly in Wine until it tries to load plugins, such as

Normally these extensions are (I think) located in the Application data folder
in windows so Wine might be looking for them in the wrong place. Ideas?

Crash trace
A small app (named rech_pb.exe) to query a database "written" with filemaker
pro 8.5 shows empty dropdown menus, and can crash pretty easily when used ; it
shows many :
fixme:ole:OleQueryLinkFromData (0x13a448),stub!
and many :
fixme:font:SetMapperFlags (0x8258, 0x00000000): stub - harmless
An older version of the same app "written" with filemaker pro 6.0 works
correctly, but shows many :
fixme:ole:OleQueryLinkFromData (0x13a448),stub!
so I guess those warnings are pretty harmless, but the "harmless" ones aren't
that much.
See the attached log of a crash of the newer version.
Hope that helps.
PS: I'm using debian unstable's 1.0.0-1 package, in case the precision can help
PS2: I'm probably tech-savvy enough to install svn+patch if needed

(I don't trust realy in this result - so I include some screenshots and some
testdatas.)
The application was working with the databases until the wine-version v1.1.37.
Steps to reproduce the crash:
1.) database 'tanzkalender' (description is in English, data in German)
2.) click on the button 'call HTML-Export'
3.) crash - you can see the new, just loaded layout in the background.
The button 'call HTML-Export' calls a script which load a new layout with the
datas of the actual datatable.

Terminal log beginning in an exception
Filemaker Pro 11 is crashing during normal use. It's intermittent - sometimes I
can use it the whole day without problems, sometimes it halts in less than 10
minutes. But I still can't tell whether a specific activity causes it.
When it crashes, even if Filemaker isn't focused, the database window always
stays on top, until Filemaker is forcefully closed.
There is a pop-up error message, which can only be read by manually setting it
on top (right-clicking its taskbar icon and selecting "always on top").
I'm attaching a partial Terminal log. I can't get it full because it's bigger
than the Terminal buffer. But I was lucky to apparently get everything from the
exception on, and this is what I attached here.
