Summary: Alice: Madness Returns - no sound in game
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.22
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: austinenglish(a)gmail.com
Sound works in the intro videos, as well as when cutscenes/recovering memories,
but all other sounds in game are muted.
The game uses x3daudio, which may be related. A few guides online suggest
forcing stereo sound in windows sound instead of 5.1 audio, but winecfg lacks
such an option ;-). Using hardwareaccerlation = emulation makes no difference.
Since it's an unreal 3 game, I tried the workaround from bug 26965:
[AudioOptions]
UseStereoSound=0
but that seems to be dragonage2 specific, doesn't help here.
Also tried:
[XAudio2.XAudio2Device]
MaxChannels=2
instead of 32, but still, no sound :(. Lastly, disabling mmdevapi makes no
difference.

Summary: [AppDB] New version queue shows wrong dates and

New version queue with "Only show versions without maintainers" checked
The AppDB admin new version queue has a checkbox to show only apps without
maintainers. When it is checked, the dates and names of the submitters are
different than what is displayed in the unfiltered list. The dates in the
filtered list are obviously wrong (often years old), so I'd say the unfiltered
list is correct.

Ok It just came to mind that there should be a app for wine that keeps track of
the AppDB and its games and this is my Idea and what it could do...
When wine is running you will be asked whether or not to send info as in- game
logs and debug info and system info without compromising privacy that is. and
while this app runs it would do a search in AppDB on what game you're using and
what settings are recommended for it as well as patches for it and so on. The
info that is being sent while ingame can be monitored by the game maintainer in
Appdb to check for bugs or regressions.
what do yall think and how would I go about asking for an enhancement like
this?
EXTRA INFO
Requirements To Work
-AppDB Game Needs A Maintainer
-AppDB Games Need Constant Watch To Keep Track Of Regressions & Bugs
Pros & Cons
Pro- Games Will Automatically Apply Fixes When Needed
Pro- Bugs Could Automatically Be Sent To Bugzilla With Info Already In Report
Pro- Less Hassle For Devs & Users
Con- More Dedicated Devs Needed To Keep DB In Order
Con- A New Project That Will Take Time
Con- WineHQ Will Go Through Changes In Order To Work With Program
