Log trying to log in with good username/password
To reproduce: on a Windows or mac, go to monkeyquest.com and create an
account. Verify you can log into it there. Then on Linux, do
wine iexplore http://monkeyquest.com
Then try to log in. It will silently take you back to the login screen.
There is no significant difference in the log between using a good
and a bad password there. I'll attach a log using a good password.

Sadly, FIFA WC/WM 2006 is barely useable with the Intel Xorg graphics driver
for the i915 device because all text is invisible in all menus.
These (partly animated) menus have a Shockware/Flash look&feel and are probably
drawn by the windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx component that is
registered during installation.
This "invisible font" issue is quite different from ones I faced before in that
a +font,+xrender trace shows nothing. Also, Massimo's DIB engine doesn't help
here.
On my NVidia Mac with OSX 10.5.7, the game works flawlessly (I'll have to test
installation there before submitting a gold rating). Curiously, it doesn't even
need the three fonts EA05_Bod.ttf, EA05_Tit.ttf, EASSanCB.ttf that
CreateScalableFontResource() leaves in windows\temp\ during installation.
It's too bad that the fonts are invisible on the Intel HW. Sound, Speech,
Animation, game play etc. are all working: The Intel's 3D is (almost) good and
fast enough for this game.
The default log produces the following noteworthy output:

Swing applications have a redrawing problem when running under Wine.
I tested running Kubunut-8.04.1 with wine 1.1.10 and installed Java 1.5.0_17 in
wine. I tested both with JSmoothGen (http://jsmooth.sourceforge.net) and Pauker
(http://pauker.sourceforge.net). I both cases moving the appliation window
produced heavy artefacts (see attached screenshot). Please note that kwin is
configured to show the window size when moving windows.

1.4.1 vs 1.6
Wine 1.4.1 with Microsoft core fonts was working on few my machines well.
After upgrading wine 1.4.1 to 1.6 the font in wine (cfg, regedit...) and in
some applications launching via wine has become bad. It looks like anti-aliased
with bad quality (screenshot 1).
Disabling anti-alias in fontconfig doesn't affect this font (nothing changes at
all) (screenshot 2).

When Steam client didn't start anymore, Wine 1.7.8 fixed this bug and Steam got
back working again. :-) But since this version 1.7.8 audio in all games

After updating from Wine 1.7.4 to 1.7.6, I am no longer able to play fullscreen
games properly.
Previously, everything worked fine both with and without using a virtual
desktop.
Now, when I do not use a virtual desktop, and I allow my window manager
(compiz) to control windows, only a small part of the game is visible (tested
on Mass Effect 2 and 3, both of which were working fine in wine 1.7.4), making
it impossible to play. The rest of the screen just shows the dekstop, but the
game still has mouse and keyboard focus. I also don't think the game is being
undirected as it should be, which is a performance issue.
If I check the box to enable virtual desktop, the games now use the full
screen, but the taskbar shows overtop of the game, obscuring the bottom of the
screen.
If I disable virtual desktop again and disable to option to let the window
manager control the windows, it works fine, except now if I switch workspaces,
the game follows me, making it impossible to do anything else without closing
the game (previously, this worked fine).
I am using 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04

At the beginning of the first level when in Wine, the flash speeder doesn't go
forward. In Windows, it starts going forward unless you put the brake on.
To get the vehicle to go forward in Wine, if you can, you have to "wiggle" it.
You put the thrusters on, point it all the way off to one side (left or right),
then all the way to the other and wiggle it back and forth until it snaps out
of it and goes forward.
In later versions of Wine, however, you cannot get it to go forward no matter
how much you wiggle it.
Even back in Wine 1.3.16 and 1.3.20, you had to wiggle the flash speeder "out
of it" to get it to move forward at the first level.
After some bisecting, I found out that in Wine 1.3.28, you can wiggle your way
out, but in 1.3.29 you can't wiggle your way out. So a patch from ~.28 to ~.29
broke it.

NexusTK used to work perfectly fine, but as soon as I updated my operating
system to OS X Mavericks 10.9.1, when I try to open Nexustk, the game window

Portal 2 with black screen log
I start steam client, start game "Portal 2" and after load game I hear the
voice but see only black screen. When I press the "escape" button I can see the

This is related with Star Wars: Episode I - Racer game.
When virtual desktop is enabled and mouse is away from borders, it is possible
to skip video intros with Esc or Enter. Otherwise keys not work.
The demo version does not include this videos, so is unusable in this case.
I make logs with WINEDEBUG=+dinput,-d3d_surface.
In smartskip.log I skip videos, while in smartrun.log I press keys and move
mouse, but escape event is not triggered. I can make large logs with WINEDEBUG,
but got to know which channels to activate. Hope this will help.

As of wine 1.7.32, Diablo III becomes unusable after switching to different
workspace in i3-wm. Upon switching back to the Diablo III workspace, the game
cursor appears, but no sound or video behind the cursor (just shows whatever
was on previoue workspace with the Diablo III cursor, which can be moved
around). Reinstalling wine 1.7.31 fixes the issue for now.
Game is in fullscreen mode, 1920x1080, and no vsync.

After configuring the Wine prefix Windows version to Windows 95, the 16-bit
installer application was launched. Dialog boxes worked normally, but after the
dialog that requests installation location, the installer hangs. Relay logs

These are the program error details
When loading the application, it says the sound won't work and a window also
pops up saying there is a serious problem detected and that the application
needs to be closed. There are no problems installing the application but it
won't load up the game once it's done installing.

Sam XML config damaged

If the xml File gets saved (i.e. on sam exit) i get an parser error on
restarting the application through wine, that it canno't find the start tag of
an DSP plugin.
Never had that error on older wine Versions.

Setup Error Backtrace
After ~55% of the installation process, the installer crashes and reports
„Microsoft Office Professional 2010 encountered a problem during setup“. The
same thing happened on old wine versions too (I think I tried 1.3.x, 1.4, and
another 1.5 version in the past).
I attached the backtrace, wine generates when this error occurs. I tried
various feature setups already, including one that should have only installed
Word. But I always get the same error. I also tried my DVD as well as the
downloadable trail version.
I am using Fedora 17 x64 (I also tried installing office in Fedora 16 and under
many kernel versions – currently 3.4.6). Moreover, use the x86 version of wine
(wine.i686).

The Calc Cassio Classpad 330 comes with a CD with programs to connect it to the
PC.
The program installs and works perfectly BUT the program can't "see" the calc.
My guess is that because the calc itself is not a drive wine doesn't 'see' it
neither - is there a way to connect anyway the usb port to the program??
Ask me anything, please.
But tell how to generate the information needed :)

When run SAPGUI after instalation the application show black windows title,
hide some texts, don`t show buttons borders and sometimes text too, black
images. A similar error occur on Windows(r) when the system have no more memory
to allocate.

In the game Death to Spies Moment of Truth, characters, including main
character and NPC, don't render as they should, as only the weapons and
additional material carried by the individual is shown.

I tested with Ubuntu Lucid, and a hd2600xt agp, using the latest fglrx
(catalyst 10.6) and native d3dx9_*.dll (installed with winetricks). Can't
really state whether is a Wine bug or a driver related problem, as i don't own
any nvidia card.
Adding to the aforemented situation, the game crashes when defining texture
size to high.
Excluding these bugs, it actually runs very well, i could even use Depth of
Field, when selecting it on Windows corrupts textures and the overall colours.

The HttpQueryInfo() function should return data based on both the dwInfoLevel
and the *lpdwIndex arguments (if the latter is specified). In particular,
*lpdwIndex may be used by the caller to enumerate multiple headers with the
same name, like this idiom:

while (HttpQueryInfo(hRequest, dwInfoLevel, pBuffer, dwBufSize, &dwIndex)) {
/* ...process the returned data... */
}
This enumerates potentially multiple like-named headers for the given
dwInfoLevel. It relies on HttpQueryInfo() to do the following (see Microsoft
Win32 API docs for HttpQueryInfo()):
(1) Check if the dwIndex-th header is available for dwInfoLevel; if not, return
FALSE and SetLastError(ERROR_HTTP_HEADER_NOT_FOUND).
(2) If the dwIndex-th header is available, then return its data (subject to
buffer space etc.) and increment *(&dwIndex).
For several of the possible dwInfoLevels, Wine's HttpQueryInfoW()
implementation has the following problems:
(P1) It does not check its *lpdwIndex value, but returns the same data and an
ERROR_SUCCESS result regardless of that value; and
(P2) It does not always increment *lpdwIndex if the current function call is
successful.
It keeps returning the same data regardless of the value of *lpdwIndex, and
keeps returning TRUE. This leads to infinite loops in the caller when used with
(variations of) the above enumeration idiom.
In particular, this erroneous behavior occurs with the following dwInfoLevels
(see implementation of HTTP_HttpQueryInfoW() in dlls\wininet\http.c):
HTTP_QUERY_RAW_HEADERS_CRLF:
EXPECTED: Should return data and increment *lpdwIndex for *lpdwIndex==0 only,
and return ERROR_HTTP_HEADER_NOT_FOUND for all other values of *lpdwIndex.
ACTUAL: Instead, always returns ERROR_SUCCESS except if the destination buffer
is too small. It also does not increment *lpdwIndex if it returns
ERROR_SUCCESS.

The game uses Unity3d and supports Oculus Rift/Virtual Reality (disabled by
default in the options menu).
When you start a new game from the menu the game crashes once the level is
loaded.
The same crash with Wine 1.2.3/1.4.1/1.6.2/1.7.22.
Setting up virtual desktop mode doesn't help.
Workaround: disable 'Oculusplugin.dll' in winecfg. The dll can be found under
../Among the Sleep_data/Plugins directory.

As far as I can tell, the issue is with various surfaces having wrong z-index,
i.e. when an object is supposed to be obscured by a surface, the object is
still drawn over the surface. This results in objects visually "floating" above
the surface and generally makes various maps messy.
The issue is present since 1.3.20 or 1.3.19 (and still not fixed in 1.3.31).
Verified to work correctly in 1.3.18. One has to install winetricks
d3dx9_36/d3dx9/directx9 in order to play the game at all. The issue has been
verified to occur with any and all of them installed, and with a lot of
combinations of graphical settings in game.
I don't have a log ATM, but can provide one if needed.

Delphi 2007 window after start-not redrawing and responding
I have successfully installed Borland Delphi 2007, but if I start the program,
it does not run correctly. The main window isshown with docked subwindows, but
the content of the subwindows and menus and such stuff is not drawed (is
black), it also does not react on mouse or keyboard - similar stuff like if
developed windows application where runs the loop without calling the
Application.ProcessMessages() (in Pascal syntax). The only possibility is to
kill the application.
I can remember, during the installation also the screen has not been redrawn
correctly (progress bar of installer has frozen for very long time and the
progress hasnot been shown at all)

Dragon Naturally Speaking Home 12.5 installation log
Regression, maybe. Maybe not. Here's why.
I downloaded wine 1.7.6 today for the first time from the Ubuntu ppa
repository. Then, starting with a new wineprefix, I set the version to Windows
8 and did winetricks fontfix.
Then I tried re-installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking. NatSpeak installs with a
single EXE file, but it auto-detects whether the system is 32-bit or 64-bit,
and installs accordingly.
The installation seemed to go very well, and very fast, until at the very end,
something went amiss, and I did not get the closing message that I usually do.
I looked at the terminal log (see first attachment) but nothing jumped out at
me.
I tried running the program. After a feeble attempt it crashed. Again, the log
seemed to tell me nothing. (See second attachment.)

At first it was complaining about missing dx dll.

Should get Stefan Dösinger back, but instead you get something like

but (BUG) doesn't render at all the bold; it marks it as bold, but the text
is still plain. This never happens in windows.

natspeak runtime log with pasuspender
Dragon NaturallySpeaking works very well on linux systems that rely on
pulseaudio.
However, if it is installed on a system that does not come preloaded with
pulseaudio (such as Lubuntu) the audio does not work.
I tried installing in a clean Lubuntu system, and then tried installing
pulseaudio. No good.
I tried installing with pulseaudio running. Yay. Success. Then I tried to run
the program with pasuspender, with the following results.

The movement keys are not interpreted by the game. By default the game assigns
WASD for movement and <Space> for jumping. None of them work in Wine.
Interestingly, other keys work:
<R>: brings up the research tab
<Backspace>: restart the level
<Esc>: back to the menu
<X>: skips the videos
I can reassign the keys in the options menu but whatever I choose for movement,
they are not accepted by the game.
Terminal output doesn't reveal too much:

Wine throws a timezone error and this causes .net applications to crash. My
timezone is set to Europe/Istanbul, and checking timezone info with timedatectl
shows it as correctly set. I looked at the wine registry and there doesn't seem
to be a Turkey tz, I tried importing one from windows but it didn't help. (I
also changed display name to Europe/Istanbul in registry, no luck)
Changing timezone to GMT or something else fixes it, but this is not
acceptable.

Log file captured using "WINEDEBUG=all+d3d,ddraw,wgl,x11drv"
The checkin log for the regression SHA1 says "wined3d: Restore the pixel format
of the window whose pixel format was actually changed".
The symptom is that when Broodwar starts up it stops at the loading screen. It
is not hung since the "Loading" text continues to flash. Left alone, it will
stay at this screen forever. The only way I found to get past the startup
screen is to manually trigger the screensaver. After the screensaver has
started and been terminated, Broodwar gets past the loading screen into the top
level game screen. The game will run at this point but there is no GPU
acceleration so everything is quite slow.
Note that SHA1 b8569d2f3006bbb14b973eca15a608f9575a0ebd works properly at full
speed with no problems (aside from the normal Battlenet issues, etc).
One thing that may or may not have a bearing on this is that I'm running on a
dell laptop with a NVIDIA GPU. This laptop only supports a single screen
resolution (1440x900). Before NVIDIA dropped re-scaling a while back Broodwar
would run full screen with no problem. Afterwards, it would start up in a
corner of the screen but I could scale it before starting Broodwar using
"xrandr --output LVDS-0 --scale-from 640x480".
I used "export WINEDEBUG=all+d3d,ddraw,wgl,x11drv" to capture diagnostic data
while the system was at the startup screen. The log file is attached. Note that
the place where the log starts being repetitive is around line 8043.

user32: edit control scrolling now properly follows mouse selection
I will attach the source code for a small test program that reproduces this
behavior.
Steps to reproduce:
$ wine et.exe (edit test program)
Alternate steps to reproduce:
$ wine notepad
1. Paste the text of this bug report into the window.
2. shrink window down to about the size of a business card
3. Edit Menu - > turn off Wrap long lines
* A horizontal scrollbar should appear.
4. left-click in the window
5. continue holding down the left mouse button
6. drag mouse to the right until it leaves the window
7. continue holding the left button down
8. wait...
* Notice that the text selection keeps growing. This doesn't happen on windows.
9. still holding the mouse, move it around outside the window
10. Try to select a paragraph of text without using the scrollbars.
* Notice that it is hard to select the exact amount of text you want because
the selection keeps growing spookily on its own. Again, this doesn't happen on
windows.
Well, I found out what's causing the spooky growing text selection.
It's a fixme of WM_TIMER in edit.c
The attached patch fixes it.

SRCDS ( Source Dedicated Server ) is designed to run both in GUI and CLI modes.
However, when trying to run the server in pure console without X and using
"bare streams" as described here (
http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/cui-programs ) I still receive the
error:

This is probably due to srcds running in "hybrid" mode where it is marked as a
GUI application, but uses AllocConsole to create a console hence resulting in a
new console creation, which currently fails.
As a workaround I stubbed AllocConsole and only returned TRUE. This allows the
application to start and reach a point where it tries to read the console and
where it then fails due to wine not being able to read from the console.
Could you add an option for true "bare streams" and so that input would also
work?
ps: I know that there is a linux version of SRCDS but there are no linux
binaries for the server I am trying to run. This bug forces a lot of server
hosters run X on their servers to be able to run SRCDS in wine. The server is
free to download and use.

A user reported this in #winehq, so I tried it myself. After bug 21526 was
fixed, wine programs all compile, but several don't run. I haven't tried them
all, but, e.g., notepad runs, but cmd, dxdiag, eject do not. Trying to run them
gives:
/home/austin/wine-git/programs/cmd/cmd.exe: error while loading shared
libraries: libwine.dll: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
seems to be the CLI programs that don't run..

Wine already integrates with CUPS to allow applications to print documents
exactly as they do it in Windows. My proposal is to integrate Wine with GVFS to
let applications automatically mount network shares. In Windows applications
can access network shares by just specifying a path like "//server/share". But
in Wine you first need to manually create a link to
"~/.wine/dosdevices/unc/server/share", and only then all applications will be
able to access this particular server.

Lzma-compressed WINE log file (Photoshop 3)
On Windows-Machines, Photoshop refuses to run
when much physical RAM is installed. Problems
typically start when it exceeds 512 MB.
The installation routine works but the real
application (photosle.exe) shows an "out of
memory" dialog and quits.
Running Photoshop 3 using WINE shows the same
behavior (tested with 1GB RAM and WINE 1.1.19).
The installer works fine and the app refuses
to start up.
The first attachment to this report was created
using the following command:

Log of UnrealED session
Now that bug 7451 is fixed, it is possible to start the unreal editor.
Everything works... except for any kind of viewport manipulation (which is done
by clicking and dragging in the viewport with various combinations of shift,
control, etc.) As a result, it is impossible to use the editor because you
simply cannot see all parts of the map nor move things around in the viewports.
It is, however, possible to subtract a cube and then apply textures to the
surfaces that are initially visible by clicking on them in the viewport.
This may affect other versions of the unreal editor, but I am not sure.
The attached log was output when starting an unrealed session, attempting to
click and drag on the main viewport, then quitting. However, all of the log
messages were output before I touched the viewport.

Crash log without winedebug
GOG.com version of "The Witcher:Enhanced Edition" crashes to desktop when
trying to exit the Mage's Tower in the swamp in the end of the second chapter.
I am using wine 1.5.21 installed from the wine Launchpad PPA.
I am running Ubuntu Desktop 12.10 64-bit with Linux 3.7.0-7. I use the
following command to launch The Witcher:
env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-test/witcher wine launcher.exe
The prefix that I use has WINEARCH set to "win32" and has d3dx9_36, d3dx9_43
and vcrun2005 installed from winetricks.

Sound plays normally for the opening cinematic and then goes silent for main
menu (Sounds should play on mouse over events, and I believe there is
background music on Windows). Sound returns during a second cinematic and is
silent again afterwards.
I've attached a log generated with WINEDEBUG=warn+alsa,warn+wave,warn+dsound.
It looks like the sound is failing when the application attempt to override the
existing Primary buffer, but we don't fully support this currently. Per the
following lines from the log.

invisible, only their weapons and equipment are displayed. Vehicles are

It doesn't matter if I choose the lowest or high detail settings in the game.

The game (version 1.2 here) has lots of missing textures: people are invisible
as well as certain objects (e.g. doors). Characters are invisible in the
cutscenes, too (I refer to those short conversations during gameplay not the
intro movie).
Maybe related to the problem, sky and floor textures turn into solid grey/black
as I turn the camera.
For confirmation, please have a look at the AppDB page of the game: all of the
submitted test results mention the problem.

Somewhere maybe around 1.1.38 this was working but now the textures of the
inside of vehicles, eg tanks was correct now they are partly missing so that
the ground and sky can be seen. (see screenshot)
I should be able to complete a regression test in the next few days.

A performance issue where Wine puts an excessive load upon the CPU; CPU usage
should be marginal.
Both of my cores in my dual-core computer run at nearly 100% when I run
AppleWin 1.23.0, a self-contained Apple II emulator.
Mentioning this issue to the AppleWin developers, they say this is how AppleWin
is functioning internally, which may be of help:

i) Start a 1ms timer
ii) Execute AppleII for 1ms of emulated time
iii) Wait for 1ms timer to expire
So assuming you have a sufficiently fast PC (ie. any PC from the past 10 years)
then the wait at step-(iii) will dominate the above sequence.
Also, Applewin is single-threaded, so on your dual-core, it will at most
consume 50% of the CPU capacity.

To replicate:
Just run Applewin.exe, and when the main window appears, press F2 to start the
emulator. A flashing prompt appears and the Applewin.exe CPU usage runs at, for
example, 72% and wineserver is at 66% (see attached screenshot from htop).

When playing Battlefield 1942 with audio set to either oss or alsa, sound
effects are not played correctly, some are not audible, some sound muffled or
cut short at the start and end.
I've searched through bugzilla for "dsound" "directsound" and "sound effects"
but I haven't been able to spot anything similar to this. I did try the patch
on bug 9358 but if anything, subjectively it seemed worse.
I also tested the demo for bug 7755 but didn't find any problems with sound
effects.
I've created a log of WINEDEBUG=+dsound, it's 80+ MB uncompressed for loading
the game, loading a level and firing a weapon and then exiting immediately.
The log does mention "Buffer starting or buffer underrun" - I don't know if
this message is normal though.

When installing this application in wine the following error occurs "Module not
found (msls31.dll)"
The rest of the installation goes smoothly. Clicking the application after
install appears to do nothing yet it is listed in "services" in Xubuntu as
"zombie".
After "killing" the "zombie" and clicking the application again, it gets all
the way to the login screen. At that point a username and passwaord can be
entered but the application then gives the error " failed to connect to
server".

When trying to play Battlefield 2 with an ATi card and GLSL enabled, the
mission loading takes far, far longer than it should (several minutes) when it
reaches the "Loading Geometry" stage. When it finally loads it runs at about
0.2fps and has odd graphics corruption (mainly on remote hills and the far
right part of the screen, unfortunately print screen is black).
Disabling GLSL fixes both these issues but that in turn locks the game to all
low quality settings.
ATi driver is 2.1.8395 (9.1) although was present with 8.11 and 8.12 as well
(only started using ATi at 8.11).

The buttons displayed in the main toolbar can be customized by right-clicking
it and choosing "customize..." (or until bug 24843 is fixed, the lowest bit of
blank space in that menu). On Windows, it saves any changes made there and
restores them on each startup. No such luck in Wine, where it resets to the
defaults on each startup.
Native comctl32 (v6) makes it work as expected. This line might be suspicious:
fixme:toolbar:TOOLBAR_Save save to L"Software\\Explorer++\\Settings"
L"ToolbarState"
P.S. There's an easy workaround which just started working in git (it'll make
the program crash on startup in 1.3.5 or earlier): go into options and enable
portable mode.

I am using Word 2010 with Wine. After a document is opened there are often
extra space before German umlauts e.g. "für" becomes "f ür". This is really
annoying and makes Word unusable. A rollback on 1.4 seems to solve the problem.
I do use a native riched20 library.

somewhat related bug - I feel like it does a pretty good job of explaining the
problem.

When trying to turn the view in Guild Wars 2, every SECOND time -- this is
exactly reproducible -- the camera rotation (by right-clicking and dragging the
mouse) stops like when the (invisible) cursor hit the edge of the screen. The
other time, I can rotate the view without such a limit.
These two cases literally take turns. In both of them, the cursor properly
re-appears at the position I started dragging, as soon as I release the mouse
button.
The first rotation attempt is unlimited.

with fresh wine-1.5.4, on my Ubuntu x86_64, with Wine Mono 0.0.2, my MS Office
2010 installation crashed, see the log.
The MS Office 2010 package shows to be installed, but launching of Word,

I finally installed MathCAD 14 under these instructions

The toolbars (standard and formatting bars don't show up but the Math one

I am unable to point my WINEPREFIX at a path that is off an ext2 partition, or
more specifically, a vboxsf mount.
$ mkdir /vboxsf/HostUser/workarea-linux/wine-1

It is true in this case, that I don't own the targetted directory. But you can
see that by group permissions, I have full access to that directory. In fact, I
created it. It is just not owned by me.
I've read up on this, and I've come to understand that the reason for this
setting is because people were "hosing" their ~/.wine when running as
root/sudo.
But the solution seems to me like applying "extreme prejudice". Wouldn't it
have been more polite to simply test for superuser-like privileges and then
disallow.
Even having a "relax, I know what I'm doing" override would make more sense to
me.
Any chance of making an improvement in this area?

Been tried a few times, need to make it harder to run as root, but not
disabled. Alexandre proposed:
No, warning message boxes are just as useless, users have been
conditioned by MS to click through without reading.
If you really want to prevent users from running as root you have to
refuse to create the prefix and abort, and then make them jump through
hoops to create it manually, by running wineboot explicitly or something
like that.

When i'm playing Morrowind everything seems to be OK except for the inventory
screen. When I'm clicking right mouse button few times, all inventory windows
shrinks and moves to the up left corner of the screen. Then I'm trying to
stretch and move them to the right position. But when I'm leaving the inventory
screen, they shrink and move themselves to the corner again. Everything looks

The bodies of the 3D characters in the game are messed up: their heads, legs
and arms are separated as if they didn't belong to their bodies.
At first, I thought this could be the same as bug #6955, but the latest patch
from #6955 (applied on 1.7.19) doesn't correct the issue.
The only remarkable line in the terminal:
>fixme:d3d:wined3d_device_set_software_vertex_processing device 0x13a430, software 0x1 stub!
This line is absent when running the game with the vertex blending patch
applied, yet, 3D models are not rendered correctly.

Reproducing the Bug:
1) Download and install Finale NotePad 2012.
2) Run the Finale Notepad 2012 application.
3) Click "OK" or "Continue" on all the dialogs, and then you'll get to a
registration dialog. Click "Remind Me Later".
Result: Finale throws an error: "Finale NotePad cannot start the Wizard because
a necessary data file (Maestro Font Default.FTM) could not be found."
Expected result: NotePad should bring up the new song wizard, which it does
correctly using Wine 1.4 and all versions leading up to the commit listed
above.
Here's what appears to be happening:
When installing Finale NotePad, default user files are copied to
"drive_c/users/Public/Application Data/MakeMusic". When running the NotePad
application for the first time after installation, files are copied from this
public location to the current user at "drive_c/users/[username]/Application
Data/MakeMusic", and some additional configuration files are created in this
same location.
After the regression, these user-specific files are never copied/created,
causing NotePad to throw the error. Once these files are created, perhaps by an
earlier version of Wine, NotePad will run even in newer versions of Wine.

Description: at the beginning of the game you encounter some mutants which are
spitting green, cloud-like acid at you. That cloud of acid is invisible when
running the game under Wine.
You can only notice that something hit you by the red blood effect and by the
fact that your HP is decreasing.
Steps to reproduce the issue in the demo:
1) Install the demo as usual. Launch it by NeuroHunter.exe
2) Start a new game from the menu. You can skip the conversation with the NPC
by pressing <Space>. Leave the cave, at the intersection turn left and follow
the shaft leading to a room occupied by two lizard-like creatures. Engage
them...they will answer with heavy spitting.
According to my tests Wine-1.3.22 is the first version which is able to start
the game (without crashing) and the problem is already there.
I don't have Windows installed so I can't show you a picture of the correct
behaviour.

ddraw debug logfile of the first broken revision
Urban Assault (a 1998 Microsoft Direct3D game) used to work on Wine but doesn't
run on versions 1.5.14 and later. When starting the game it only goes to a
black screen. There is an older bug report about this issue
(https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24885) which was fixed before now
regressing back to this state.
I bisected the bug and found the breaking commit to be
b0cefe897c6dbd846b0525e3f3aab59cae75eb6d . A ddraw debug logfile of trying to
run the game with this wine revision is attached.
My operating system is Ubuntu 14.04 with proprietary Nvidia drivers. I'm
running the game inside a "virtual desktop".

Points2Grid 1.3 crashes when using test.las file as an input file, selecting
min, max, mean and inputting 10 as a grid resolution. The output file was
changed to test2.las.
Another las file used were taken from:

This caused the program to crash. The backtrace is also attached.
Any options selected and proceeding to press OK will cause the program to
crash.

starts up ok now, but our embedded web browser isn't complete enough to
make it work. Symptoms:
1) if you ask it to help you create a blog account, it wants you
to click on a blog provider to sign up, but nothing happens.

can type a title, but you can't type text in the main field.

Workaround for lockup
The example "A simple IOCP Server/Client Class" from The Code Project locks up
in GetMessage[A/W] when creating a connection with the server example. This
issue can be reproduced by following this procedure:
1) Launch the application
2) Choose "Ok" when it says "Error could not tart the Client"
3) Click "Stop"
4) Click "Settings"
5) Change "Port (-1 = Client mode):" to a value greater than 1024 (I use 6000)
6) Click "Save"
7) Click "Start"
I've attached a workaround/hack to allow the program to operate, but user32 is
not my area of expertise.

Yahoo Messenger 9 installs ok (though the install hangs at the end),
and even starts, but the menu doesn't display (usually).
You can access the menu via the keyboard by pressing alt-m,
and then it draws itself.
Possibly related is that the hotspots for the minimize/maxmimize/close
window decorations are below where they should be; you have to click
on the (undrawn) menu bar instead of on the window decorations to
get them to do anything.

Run BMFont on a 64 bit system (http://www.angelcode.com/products/bmfont/) and
select 000000 Latin + Latin Supplement. Click visualise or try to 'save bitmap
font as' and a dialog indicate a crash opens.
This was seen with winetricks usp10 and after an update to 1.5.6 (which I
assume overwrites winetricks' effect).

Lotus Freelance Graphics 2.1 reports a C runtime error and exits.
Curiously I have gone back to Wine 1.1.11 where Bug 19662 should occur but this
bug occurs instead. This suggests something has changed in Ubuntu Lucid (or
the kernel) that affects this app in Wine.
Same effect in Wine 1.1.11, 1.1.42 and 1.2-rc3.

To reproduce this start the console with 'wine wineconsole cmd' and then type
'regsvr32 /?' in the wine console.
The usage will be displayed in the terminal in which you started the
wineconsole instead of in wineconsole itself. This is because regsvr32 uses
regular Unix stdio functions like printf() instead of WriteConsole().
See the XCOPY_wprintf() function in programs/xcopy/xcopy.c or the output_*()
functions in programs/net/net.c for a model on how to fix this.
After fixing this, verify that running 'regsvr32 /?' still works fine in a
regular xterm or equivalent.

I just downloaded the 1.0 dektop app from cherry-sms.com, installed it, but it
doesn't work proper: I cant select the country code. If i write the coutry code

Update dmFormName when changing paper size (patch)
A printer paper size change through the printer dialog of any application do
not update the DEVMODE dmFormName struct member.
How to reproduce:
1. run
WINEDEBUG=+psdrv wine notepad
2. check trace output for the following entry (we assume 'A4' is used)
trace:psdrv:dump_devmode dmPaperSize: 9
trace:psdrv:dump_devmode dmFormName: L"A4"
3. open print setting
4. change paper size to a different value (for example 'B5')
5. reopen print settings dialog
6. check trace output for the following entry
trace:psdrv:dump_devmode dmPaperSize: 11
trace:psdrv:dump_devmode dmFormName: L"A4"
-> dmFormName has still the old value
Instead it should have
trace:psdrv:dump_devmode dmFormName: L"B5"
The appended patch fixes this issue.

I have successfully installed ArcGIS 9.3, and run the license manager to
register my copy. When I try to launch ArcMap, however, a splash screen come
up, but while the splash screen is up an error occurs "The program ArcMap.exe
has encountered a serious problem..." With some help on IRC, I ran the program
under winedbg, where I got the error "err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object
{00000100-0000-0010-8000-00aa006d2ea4} could be created for context 0x1". It
was suggested I try installing mdac28 and jet40 via winetricks, which I did,
but continued to get errors. See http://paste.lisp.org/display/88498 where the
first paste is the original error, the second is after I tried "winetricks
mdac28 jet40", and the third is after (again as suggested on IRC) trying to
install dcom98 via winetricks. I have since removed the overrides for dcom98,
as they did not appear to be helpful.
In order to debug this software, you can get a 60 day trial at
http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcview/eval/evaluate.html as long as
you're willing to give them a whole lot of identifying information. Let me know
if I can provide any more information to help debug this issue.
This seems to be similar to a bug which has been reported for a while,
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10672 , though this is a newer version
of Wine and a newer version of ArcGIS, so I figured that I would report a new
bug.

WXTide32 uses a vector artwork map, showing land mass outlines that can be
scaled up and down, and red (tide station) and blue (current station) squares
to mark the specific geographic location of reporting/predicting stations. As
the cursor moves over a square, the station's name is displayed in a popup
placed near the square. Under wine, the popup is drawn in the appropriate
place but no text is displayed in the popup. This problem is consistently
present and repeatable on demand. This problem was first observed under Wine
0.9.55 and is unchanged under 0.9.56. It has the feel of a problem seen in the
main application - see Bug 11562.

After upgrading to wine 1.7.17 and a recent update to steam 4/26/2014 or
thereabouts, steam is failing to authenticate. This happens with my old 32
bit prefix, and with a clean new 32 bit prefix.
The bug looks like a regression to bug 35030.

My setup
Dualcore2 duo 2G RAM
intel GMA4500
wine-1.3.17
xf86-video-intel 2.15
opengl works in X just fine, all native 3d games I've tried work as expected.
I'm now trying to run games I got working on my other laptop with a nvidia GPU
The games work fine up untill it actually needs to use 3d. Responsive and
colourful, as it it works perfectly. Then when going to 3d the frame rate is
very low, its unresponsive and all the gfx appear to be very very bright and
washed out. The sound also works fine, always, no artifacts, pauses or
stuttering.
I think something in wine is not setup right

I am using MyPhoneExplorer-1.8 application in windows, recently i changed my OS

finally found a way to install MyPhoneExplorer after googling for few days and
also installed successfully. After starting the MyPhoneExplorer i found that

The application "Luka und das geheimnisvolle Silberpferd" throws an exception
and exits when
- trying to load a saved game or
- attempting to select one of the scenes intended for teachers
("Lehrerversion")
but only in case you just started the application.
It is possible to load a saved scene after you went once through the (long)
"start new game" introduction sequence.
The application's log file (Ogre.log) mentions that some object could not be
found as the cause of the exception
Function: SceneManager::getLight
Description: Cannot find Light with name youthclub_youthclub_1.
An issue possibly related might be that after playing for some time (or
whatever the bug trigger is), one may enter a scene where the main character is
not rendered, as if its graphics were missing. The log is then similar. The
game is not playable anymore from that point on, one must return to the main
menu. Even a save/load cycle does not restore the character once it
disappeared.
Be sure to install the "XP 1.0.1" patch as well as the main program (as I
mention in the test results), otherwise the application hangs during startup.
Also be sure to select the OpenGL renderer as I explain in AppDB.
This affects wine-0.9.61..wine-1.1.11 (wine-1.1.14 suffers from a regression,
that's a distinct issue). Using Ubuntu Hardy and the XOrg Intel video driver.
If this were fixed, the app rating would jump from bronze to gold.

the output text on the terminal, using WINEDEBUG=+relay
Unhandled page fault appears when the DriveSuite 3.7.6 try to connect to the
drive using serial port, it just freeze.
The program use RS232 to write and read to the servo controller, already tested
the serial port configurations on the computer and the port itself is working.

In windows live2support shows a notification box when a new chat is requested,

THATS THE LOG PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE :S
this is an exe file of a game running on my mac, it used to run before. but i
updated my mac software to yosemite then winebottler doesn't open any windows
application till now. this file is a sample of the error coming up on my
screen.
i tried to use different versions of winebottler but it doesn't work anymore
i tried 1.35, 1.4.1 and 1.6.1 and all of them didn't work
PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

StarCraft Brood War runs extremely slowly. The regedit tips on the appdb page
don't have any effect (which they shouldn't, as they don't deviate from the
defaults). Using Emulate Virtual Desktop likewise doesn't help.

The bug that I saved when I clicked "show details"
When I right clicked "Sonic_Generations_Downloader.exe" and pressed "Wine
Windows Program Loader", the Amazon Downloader started. After a few seconds
another window popped up and said "The program Sonic_Generations_Downloader.exe
has encountered and serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience."
