Status: UNCONFIRMED

Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: krissn(a)op.pl
The Mount&Blade: Warband game suffers from a mouse pointer disappearence
problem when exiting the battle mode using the Esc key.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start the game. The main menu is shown. The mouse pointer is displayed
normally.
2. Start a new battle or enter the tutorial so that the game enters the FPS
mode (i.e. battle mode).
3. Press Esc to go back to the menu.
At step 3. the mouse pointer is shown, but is frozen. The mouse however works,
as moving it around causes the menu buttons to highlight eventually. You can
even click them once highligted and they will work.
This is a regression introduced in Wine 1.3.21. The scenario has been tested in
1.3.20 and the problem does not occur.

Wine 1.5.6 console output
SlingPlayer 1.5 fails to show video if Wine is upgraded. Sound works fine.
I have tested this over and over and it is the act of upgrading Wine that
appears to be causing the problem.
Native quartz, qcap and gdiplus needed to get this far.
Tested:
1.4.1 --> 1.5.6
1.5.6 --> 1.5.12
1.5.12 --> wine-1.5.12-157-gbdf9a9f
Following the upgrade there is some new output in the console:
err:ddraw:ddraw7_QueryInterface

And this line disappears:

7d8aa343-6e63-4663-be90-6b80f66540a3 is related to quartz.dll
(http://mikolajapp.appspot.com/uuid/query?q={7d8aa343-6e63-4663-be90-6b80f66…)
and this somehow becomes registered during the transition, and stops video from
being shown in the SlingPlayer.
I cannot understand what would cause this.
Attempting to unregister fails:
Failed to unregister DLL c:\windows\system32\quartz.dll
No known workaround: I have to reinstall SlingPlayer every time, or lock the
upgrades on my system.

I did a regression test for this, which gave me:

In the game Areena 5, I can't use the help pages at all. They aren't very
important part of the game. In fact the help pages are quite useless, but I
submit a bug report, because I think this bug is blocking the Platinum rating
for the game.
So there is a menu called Apua -> Ohje (in English something like: Help -> Help
Contents). When I click it nothing happens. So the help pages can't be used at
all.
There are AREHELP.HLP and AREHELP.GID files in the game folder. All the help
data can be found the in somewhat packed format.
This will show up every time I click the help:
fixme:ole:OLEPictureImpl_Render Not quite correct implementation of rendering

I think that it has pretty much nothing to do with the real problem, but
anyways.

Wine 1.1.18 Screenshots
Slingplayer has channel icons to identify each channel.
There are two problems.
1. The icons redraw line by line, but each line clears the last, so browsing
them isn't possible. The icons redraw automatically when changing windows back
and forth.
2. The icons can't be selected.
The attachment tries to show how the icons are redrawn. I have a short video
which shows it a bit better, but I can't get it off the camera at the moment...
Tried in latest gitwine wine-1.1.18-199-ga9c0c24 too.
To get this far, I need to work around bug 17971, bug 13371, bug 17948 and bug
16546.
I tried a +bitmap log but the log was too large to make any sense of, and I'm
not certain that the icons are bitmaps, as I can't find the actual file or
files.
A +icon log causes the app to hang for some reason, so I couldn't use that
either.
Problem has been around a while, but first instance that I know of is in
1.0-rc4.

The isometric view is composed partly of 2D artwork and 3D animated objects and
characters. Most of the 3D objects are partially drawn to the point of becoming
invisible after a while.
Logfile is filled with :
fixme:ddraw:d3d_device7_GetClipStatus iface 0x13c940, clip_status 0x33e6e8
stub!
and also a few Depth/Stencil fixmes.
Note:
- "Disable texture blitting" must be checked in the advanced options of the
launcher, or the UI will be missing parts.
- "Enable Real Time Light" must be unchecked in the in-game options menu, or no
element other than the background and the UI will be drawn.
- Some part of the player character can be seen when he moves.
The demo specified in the download link also has this bug.

Command line messages, from a run on Linux Mint Debian Ed. x64 / Mate Desktop

DELISprint is an online/offline parcel check-in and label print application
from DPD, a large German parcel service. It is necessary for business
customers of DPD. You need to be a registered customer to really use it, but
it can be freely tried in demo mode. It may be freely downloaded from
http://delisprint.dpd.com/download/v5/DELISprint_Setup.exe (Ver. 5.6.7.0, 30
MB).
According to its included Help PDF it is written for Win 2000/XP, but runs also
on Win 7. It seems to make heavy use of a Jet DB and brings 30 dlls. Prior to
installation in a new WINEPREFIX it needs jet40 and mdac28 via winetricks.
With these prerequisites DELISprint_Setup.exe installs. On first start it
automatically imports quite a lot of CSV data into its DB and then seems to
work. But on exit and second start it hangs at its splash screen, the Wine
debugger window opens but remains empty.
The same happened with Wine 1.7.11 and Wine 1.6.2 on an x86 installation.
I found one old unanswered forum thread with the same problem:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2012-March/104110.html
See attached command line messages, from a run on Linux Mint Debian Ed. x64 /
Mate Desktop and Wine 1.7.15, after clicking »Close« in the debugger window and
then pressing Ctrl-C because the program didn't close.

Screenshot of purebasic without the toolbar
Purebasic is a little nice basic compiler that can produce very compact
executables.
The windows version runs in Wine with just a few defects only. There is a
native Linux version, but many people use the windows version in wine to
generate win32 executables.
The toolbars in the IDE do not show any icons, the toolbar works, but the icons
are not displayed.
This problem is not the typical icons are not drawn, as the toolbar is being
stretched too.
The problem has been happening for years with older versions of Wine and
Purebasic.
Here I tested with wine 1.5.19 in Ubuntu 12.10 and PureBasic Demo 5.0
(the demo can be downloaded from: http://www.purebasic.com/download.php)
Here is how to reproduce the problem:
wget -c http://www.purebasic.com/download/PureBasic_Demo.exe

wineprefix=/home/test/purewine wine "C:\\Program

I've been using Microsoft Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe from Windows XP or

and I'm able to seek on the stream to mostly anywhere on the timeline.
But if I dragged the playhead and drop it at the very right end of timeline
or used FF button while playing, Sound Recorder will show an error:
"Another application is playing audio. You can either interrupt the
application or wait until it is done. Then try using Sound Recorder
again."
Then, this instance of Sound Recorder will not play any audio again (no matter
I loaded another wave file, both PCM and non-PCM; when trying to play,
it shows the same error)
When I exited Sound Recorder, these lines will be printed on WINE console:
fixme:winmm:MMDRV_Exit Closing while ll-driver open
fixme:winmm:MMDRV_Exit Closing while ll-driver open
Note: If I restarted Sound Recorder, it will be able to play MP3

Also, other instances of Sound Recorder that're running in parallel
won't be affected.

Summary: Raw printing does not work
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.18
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: giulioo(a)gmail.com
System:
Ubuntu 8.04
Wine 1.1.18 (binary from WineHQ APT Repository)
I googled, asked on the web forum and searched bugzilla, but no one had a
definitive answer about this issue, ie a way to get raw printing working from
Wine.
>From here http://wiki.winehq.org/Printing it's not clear it it's considered a
bug.
I thought to open a bug about this so developers can definitively say whether
this is actually a bug or if the agreement is that it's up to the Linux side to
do something about this (convert back from PS to ascii or something).
Raw printing is useful for those applications which expect the printer to
receive their pre-formatted data as is: apps which output PCL directly, label
printer software, ....
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Create a raw printer queue in Linux/ubuntu which points to a NON PS printer
(ie: pure PCL or text printer).
- Run
$ echo ABCD | lpr -P raw_queue
and see that the printer prints ABCD.
- Then run
$ wine notepad.exe
Type ABCD
Print to the raw_queue
and see that the printer prints the PostScript data produced by Wine even if
the Linux queue is defined as raw.

Console output of a hang-up situation
The game hangs after some time during gameplay. It becomes non-responsive and
has to be killed. This seems to happen when some event is triggered in the
games, e.g., someone gets in or out of a car or picks a power-up.

Marcus Meissner told me at the openSUSE conference last october that most wine
developers actually prefer beer. He also repeated this statement in the slides

together with me.
It must be a bug that wine developers prefer beer!

Hi,
since 1.3.4, Far Cry 2 has worked great! It used to always crash during loading
in 1.1.x version, but that has been fixed. I can now play Far Cry 2 without
rebooting my computer!
However. When I change the shading option in the settings menu from "medium" to
"high", the skybox is no longer rendered. The bug can be seen in the attached
screenshots. I've also attached a screenshot of the offending menu option and a
log of wine.
The command used to start to game was:
wine "/media/Data/Programs/Steam/steamapps/common/far cry 2/bin/FarCry2.exe" 2>
~/wine.log
I will gladly provide any additional information required.

After installing, the Imvu login window appears. As soon as you sign in, an
error pops up, stating that a critical error involving
''Devicefingerprint_old.exe''has occured. Then, the imvu logo remains on teh
top bar in Ubuntu 11.10, but will not open the main window. I left it like this
for an entire night (about 9 hours) and it did not open, so it is not a matter
of slow loading. Also, i tried setting the installer, client exe and quality
agent to run on different versions of windows, none of which helped. i also
tried changing the d3dx9_43 library to wine only. Nothing worked. Previous
versions of IMVU simply crash before the login window. Ive tried re-installing
different versions of wine and imvu, and have reinstalled ubuntu 4 times.

Summary: Texture Corruption of Certain Elements on osu! When
Using AMD Graphics Hardware
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.15

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: espionage724(a)gmail.com
Certain textures in osu! become corrupted when ran on AMD graphics hardware
(tested on a 7850, 7660G, and 7670M), regardless of the driver in-use (can
confirm it on various fglrx versions, and mesa/radeon too).
The elements corrupted seem to be the scoreboard, and CtB avatars and fruit
(basically making that game mode entirely unplayable). osu! (Standard), Taiko,
and osu!mania seem unaffected though gameplay-wise (but the scoreboard is still
corrupted.
The song title fly-in when you start a beatmap, and comments seen during
replays are also corrupted.
All corruption can be fixed by either having StrictDrawOrdering set to enabled,
or by using a CSMT-patched version of Wine.

The RealTerm serial port terminal is a very useful Windows-only program for
serial debugging. I use it often for microcontroller and embedded systems
projects which frequently use the serial port for communication. I have used
this program in Wine in the past and it has worked perfectly, but with newer
releases it crashes with a "Program Error Details" dialog on any attempt to
start the program. I'm using the latest Wine and latest RealTerm. I run this
program on Windows XP and Windows 7 with no problems.

Summary: broken encoding in AppDB PM E-Mails
Product: WineHQ Apps Database
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: appdb-unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hoehle(a)users.sourceforge.net
Text entered into AppDB's personal e-mail form at
http://appdb.winehq.org/contact.php?iRecipientId=NNNN
is not transmitted correctly to the recipient, as e.g. Umlauts are broken
somewhere in between.
For instance, ö (o Umlaut) becomes "A?"
This is presumably different from bug #16514, because I don't expect the text
we type into the PM form to transit via a database. Even if it would, my
understanding is that the redesigned AppDB site consistently uses UTF-8 and
"only" broke all old content.
There may be several bugs involved:
1. E-Mail contains "MIME-Version: 1.0" header, but no mention of encoding.
2. The Subject line in the header is not recoded when Umlauts are present (the
RFC-headers must be all ASCII).
A simple test: In the body, -äöüÄÖÜß- becomes
-A$A?A1/4A"A-AoeAY-
