When launching Etrom, first you see a still title screen, and then everything goes black. On Ubuntu it works fine. The problem can be reproduced in the demo (check out the link). You can only see the last letter your typed. And this pops up in the parent terminals each time I press a letter: fixme:edit:EDIT_EM_FmtLines soft break enabled, not implemented I will attach a screen shot of what it looks like.
