Bug ID: 36473
Summary: SketchUp Make 2014: welcome dialog opens some web
content in external browser
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.18
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: urlmon
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: ryan(a)nardis.ca
Ubuntu 14.04, Wine version 1.7.18 and wine-gecko version 2.24 from the
ubuntu-wine PPA.
Starting SketchUp Make 2014 for the first or second time, I should see the
first-time welcome page [1] embedded in the Welcome dialog. Instead, two
instances of my native (Linux) browser open to that page, and the embedded
content is from a local source [2].
[1] http://help.sketchup.com/en/in-product/2014/make/ww/initial
[2]
file:///C:/Program%20/Files/SketchUp/SketchUp%202014/Resources/en-US/welcomescreen/learntabmakeevalinitialrun.html
On subsequent runs (starting from the third) the content changes depending on
how much time remains on the evaluation license, but the behaviour is the same.
Starting SketchUp with more than half the evaluation time remaining, I get two
instances of [3] in my native browser, and [4] in the embed.
[3] http://help.sketchup.com/en/in-product/2014/make/ww/first-half
[4]
file:///C:/Program%20Files/SketchUp/SketchUp%202014/Resources/en-US/welcomescreen/learntabmakeevalfirsthalf.html
Installing ie7 or ie8 via winetricks and overriding only urlmon makes it work
properly, so setting component to urlmon.

Tried to load up Aion's 64-bit client not sure if people want to tackle this
but figure it would help someone in the 64-bit end of development.
I built the wine from the git source tree and I used the Directx9 dll overrides
required to run the 32-bit version of Aion.

Terminal output
Far Cry 2 downloaded from Steam fails to initialize. When launching for the
first time, Steam tries to install DirectX, .NET 2.0, Punkbuster and MS Visual
C++ 2005 SP1. I had to manually delete the DirectX installer and recreate the
wine prefix in order to avoid the installer to try installing DirectX. Either
way, letting it install DIrectX or not, Far Cry 2 fails to initialize. It
starts by showing a black box in the middle of the screen (probably where the
logo should appear) and a warning window is shown:
"Your video card drivers are too old. Please update them."
Pressing OK, the executable continues for a few seconds until a message in the
terminal output states that the function
d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXGetShaderInputSemantics is missing. Then the application
crashes.
On a side note, I have a Radeon HD 4770 512MB and the latest stable fglrx
drivers from Ubuntu repositories.

Output
Hi,
I've encountered a bug in Wine (I think).
When I try to install TimeShift Demo, it asks to agree with the license
agreement. The option "I agree" is grayed out, so I thought that after
scrolling the license it will activate - it won't. It will be grayed out no
matter of what I am doing.
I've tried to use WinXP and Win98 compatibility mode.
I've noticed that when I press "Next" on the first screen I can see "Untitled
Window" on my taskbar.
I really don't know what is going on, or how to fix it. Wine pops only
"IsWow64Process" and SetWindowRgn not supported on other thread window, that's
all. Just in case I've attached my debug output. I don't know if this game
works, because I can't install it.
I've tried to remove .wine directory, but it didn't help.
You can download the demo here:
http://fileshack.com/file.x/11251/TimeShift+Demo
It weights about 983 megs...
Cheers
I am using Fedora 8, Wine 0.9.58, NVIDIA drivers 169.12, and I gave it major
severity because it prevents from installing software and even more experienced
user can't figure out what to do because output is not telling anything

'winetricks wmp10' is a workaround. Some other native components are also
needed to start the demo normally (d3dx9_36, xmllite, xact_jun2010), but they
are separate problems.

Hello folks,
as the summary says... and the popup seems to be harmless (app still works).
The requested version seems to be application version dependent: iMesh 7.x
wants at least WMP 10.x
There doesn't seem to exist a common WMP API to retrieve the version.
Applications use different ways to check for it.
For example bug 35677 where the installer checks the version resource of
'C:\\Program Files\\Windows Media Player\\wmplayer.exe'
This app reads WMP version key from registry.

Summary: Running of Linux Live USB causes kernel32 to blow up
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal

Backtrace of blow up
I began testing Linux Live USB creator on Linux. I am running
wine version wine-1.5.18 installed via YUM on Fedora 18, using
the linux kernel 3.8.0-rc3 compiled from source from www.kernel.org.
What Linux Live USB does, is it creates a Live USB Linux USB thumb drive from
an ISO. I keep a Windows XP partition around to run this program. My hope is
to use Wine to run this program and create Linux thumb drives.
Live Linux USB should task Wine, as it looks for new updates and other
information from its web site.
Back Trace attached...

Summary: Games For Windows Live 2.0.0687.0
(PANORAMA_V2.00_RTM.090421-2351) needs MSASN1.dll
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.19
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: focht(a)gmx.net
Hello folks,
there were a few GFWL/XLive bug comments in the past that stated "copying
MSASN1.dll solves the issue" (bug 28035).
There is indeed a specific version of GFWL that hard-binds to 'MSASN1.dll'.
'winetricks msasn1' obviously solves the problem for 'xlive.dll' load failure.
It doesn't solve GFWL init failure at runtime as
explained in https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28035#c37
This bug is about adding a stub dll and possible implementation later.
The specific version is:

Hello folks,
I split this off from bug 35390 because this looks like widl issue.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35390#c7
--- quote ---
So next thing to check is vartype of default value for this parameter in native
typelib. If it's VT_DISPATCH|VT_BYREF, unlikely I think cause only NULL value
makes sense as a default, then widl is to blame, if it's stored at VT_PTR type
we need ITypeInfo code to deal with that. It's also possible that both parts
are broken.
--- quote ---
I downloaded native wbemdisp and registered it (regsvr32)
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/W/wbemdisp.dll/5…http://filemare.com/browse/62.99.77.70/WBEMDISP.TLB
With that part the installer goes further (succeeds) and trace log reveals the
defaultvalue type for IDispatch* is VT_DISPATCH (Wine's widl generates VT_PTR)

Terminal messages running the application
I was testing a .Net 4 application (OCTGN) and noticed it fails when the
application tries to change the cursor (in C#, tbStatus.Cursor = Cursors.Pen).
I searched around and didn't find a solution to this problem and only found a
reference to some cursors in winuser.h (at least IDC_PEN with id 32631,
IDC_WAITCD with id 32663 and IDC_HELP with id 32651).
You can replicate the error testing OCTGN (although I needed a lot of tinkering
before being able to login, the place where the error occurs) but it probably
is easier to create a simple application and testing the cursor change there.
Attached are the console log (with the .Net error message) and the wine crash
log.

I have to revert both this and 531219f84d0d6fa236283e5c3d061b5f752df793 to
resolve the problem. (Reverting only this commit causes it to die at startup;
reverting only the other patch doesn't correct the problem.) Terminal output
doesn't look useful (same as bug 22390).
On another note, native gdiplus only solves this regression, not the original
problem... so they probably aren't related.

then disappears, then another screen appears on-screen briefly and disappears.

Mono for this:
1. Run winetricks mono26
2. Run the Paint.NET installer
This only applies to git, as it wants to install the .NET Framework in 1.1.41.
Running winetricks gdiplus gets it further into the installation. The only

Attempting to run the main executable for Paint.NET 3.36 results in it exiting
with an error:
There was an unhandled error, and Paint.NET must be closed. Refer to the file

wine backtrace after opening fillable form w/javascript
Installed the official Adobe Acrobat Reader v11 (11.0.00) to a clean Wine
profile (WINEPREFIX to a new directory). Only setting I changed/verified was
to make sure it defined the install as "Winxp" (using winecfg). Could open any
regular PDF files. However. opening a "fillable" PDF with javascript popups
immediately crashed the programme.
Had tried this under Crossover Office and also tried installing extra packages
in a profile using winetricks. Got much the same results as soon as I tried
opening this form.

A Windows user running Centos 5 in VMWare,
with Tanner S-Edit inside the Centos instance in Wine (1.3.15?)
and Microsoft Office running natively in Windows,
noticed the following problem:
Copying from S-Edit (on Linux) and pasting into Office (on Windows)
worked fine.
However, if you run Gnome Terminal, select some text in it, and do Copy,
then copy from S-Edit, and then paste into Office, the text that
is pasted is the text that was copied earlier from Gnome Terminal.
If you then close Gnome Terminal and paste into Office, the S-Edit
text you copied earlier is pasted.
So it seems Gnome Terminal is offering some data type that Wine isn't, and
VMWare's clipboard integration prefers that data type.
The little windows clipboard viewer at
http://www.codeguru.com/cpp/w-p/clipboard/externallinks/article.php/c9155/C…
might be helpful in diagnosing this, I'll ask the user to try that.
I haven't found a similar simple clipboard viewer which shows details
of what's being offered on the various clipboard-like mechanisms
(as opposed to a clipboard manager, which tries to hide details) for Linux yet.

Version 2.3 supports the creation of fill in forms (I need this). V3 has this

After running setup, you get: "z:\home\CDs\WindowsInternet\Adobe\setup.exe,

where I have stored FoxitReader-2.3.3902_enu_Setup.exe).
My run string:

Log from opening sample PDF and clicking on signature
Tested with FoxitReader612.12241_enu_Setup.exe and sample signed PDF downloaded
from http://blogs.adobe.com/security/SampleSignedPDFDocument.pdf.
To reproduce:
1. Install Foxit Reader.
2. Open sample signed PDF from Adobe.
3. Click on the signature in the document.
4. A Signature Validation Status window pops up that says:
Signature is INVALID.
- The document has been altered or corrupted since the Signature was applied.
- The signer's identity has not yet been verified.
5. Clicking on the Signature Properties button brings up the Signature
Properties window, but the Show Certificate button is greyed out.
In Windows (tested XP & 7 in a VM), the first time you try to validate the
signature the message in the Signature Validation Status window is:
Signature validity is UNKNOWN.
- The document has not been modified since the signature was applied.
- The signer's identity is unknown because it has not been included in your
list of trusted identities and none of its parent certificates are trusted.
- The certificate has exceeded the time of validity.
However, in Windows the Show Certificate button on the Signature Properties
window works and takes you to a dialog that allows you to import the
certificate. Once that is done, the message from clicking on the signature is:
Signature is VALID, signed by John B Harris ,jbharris(a)adobe.com>
- The document has not been modified since this signature was applied.
- The signer's identity is valid.
- The certificate has exceeded the time of validity.
I'm attaching a log from opening the sample PDF and clicking on the signature
in a clean wineprefix. Copying mfc42u.dll and msasn1.dll to the wineprefix's
system32 directory gets rid of the console error messages about them, but does
not change the app's behavior.

Hello,
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 has no background music at all.
On the WineHQ I did read there is a workaround for this: convert wma files from
this directory: ".../drive_c/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Rollercoaster
Tycoon 3 Gold/Music" to mp3. but it doesn't work. I tried to convert them to
wav format too, but it doesn't run either. Finally I do a winetricks
quartz...still no success.
Thank you for your help.

In Windows print preview, drawing commands embedded

are way too wide. It appears that the same width
(in pixels) is used in the print preview as was used
for the main application window. Also, if you use
the print preview zoom button, the line width remains
the same, suggesting that it is not being adjusted
for the changes in scale.
If drawing commands are not embedded between BeginPath
and EndPath, then the print preview appears to work
correctly.
I am attaching a screen capture of the main window and

terminal output
Now that bug #24725 has been fixed, I tried the other King's Bounty games
(Armored Princess and it's expansion Crossworlds), using only native d3dx9
dlls.
With Wine 1.5.5 both games crash on startup with
>wine: Call from 0x7b839b42 to unimplemented function d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXQuaternionSquadSetup, aborting
Native d3dx9_36.dll is a workaround.
There is a demo for KB:AP available on Steam:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/3170
Other, non-Steam demos can be found elsewhere on the net, but they're protected
with Starforce as far as I remember from my previous testings.

3. open test-selcase.pff using "runpff MFC application" (I'm using Xubuntu

4. It will show the list 1-200, on the first list, you could choose any number
on the list using arrow key, it will show confirm message of what you choose,
press "yes" for the second test, press again down arrow will directly choose
number 2, the next step will always the same, except you choose it using mouse.
In my opinion this problem related with comctl32, because I have similar bug
that almost the same with this one, but it was directly crashed.

shell script to set up the environment & run the program
Microsoft provides sample applications for use with their Tablet SDK.
I am running a sample that allows basic ink writing and recognition under
Wine-1.1.1.
For it to work, InkObj.DLL and Wisptis.exe binaries are required. I install
them via the Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer. InkObj requires unimplemented
functions of GdiPlus, so I install it using winetricks.
Also some text recognizer must be installed. I own Tablet XP (1 license) so I
copy a recognizer dll and another required file from my XP partition to ~/.wine
and register them.
Now when I launch "BasicRecognition.exe", it fails in it's initialization
sequence (judging by the source code) and gives me some output.
The Installation script and output log are attached.
Seems to be some OLE (or RPC) problems as several are mentioned in the output.

Terminal messages from launch of client and immediately exiting.
This is a regression starting at 1.3.32 in the virtual world client "There".
This is still present as of 1.3.34, even though that release fixed similar
issues.
The text is not visible in most dialogs/windows, including IM windows, the
Organizer, exit confirmation dialog, various text entry dialogs, basically any
windows that can be dragged outside of the client window. I think, but not
certain, that it is related to Qt. In text entry dialogs, the cursor can be
seen and it moves when typing. It is worth noting that the windows have
transparency as long as they are completely inside the client window.
Text appears correctly in other areas such as the menu, Communicator (buddy
list), ChangeMe, and elements connected to the 3D world. The buddy list and
ChangeMe looks identical in style to the problem windows, except they are only
rendered inside the client window. I'm certain that most of those elements use
Flash. From my understanding, the developers plan to transition all Flash
elements to Qt shortly after it opens to the public.
The client can be downloaded from http://there.com/download and the issue can
be reproduced without an account by launching the client and then exiting,
where an affected confirmation dialog is displayed.

In a TreeView control, if the following conditions holds:
1. There's only one item in the tree.
2. The control has bit TVS_EDITLABELS (=0x0008) set in dwExStyle.
3. Returned TRUE when receiving TVN_BEGINLABELEDIT.
The item will never be selected, at least never drawn as selected.
This happens in a database tool Navicat. Try this to reproduce the bug:
1. Download and install Navicat for Sql Server 10.0.0.3 Trail at
http://www.download3k.com/Install-Navicat-The-World-s-best-SQL-Server-GUI-t…
2. Open Navicat, create the only one connection, fill anything in config
dialog, no need to be a real sql server.
3. Try do label-editing on item in the TreeView, by click twice (seperated, not
double-click) on the item. In fact there will be no label-editing, doing this
is to trigger a TVN_BEGINLABELEDIT message.
4. The item will lose selection and will never be selected again.

Some applications on my system disappear totally from the desktop after
minimizing them. It's debian lenny with openbox and fbpanel. I'm going to
illustrate it on the Bridge Base Online app.
Setup: http://online.bridgebase.com/download/bbo_setup.exe
Default install, to C:\Bridge Base Online
Launch app, for example with
wine c:\\Bridge\ Base\ Online\\NetBridgeVu.exe
Don't log in, choose Open Bridge Movie..., open a file 00ittsf8.lin from the
hands subdirectory. Click on a deal below, for example no 110. We are on the
main screen of the app.
Then I can minimize the window, it goes down to the taskbar and is still
visible through Ctrl-Tab. But trying to restore it either from taskbar or from
Ctrl-Tab fails. App is still working, but it's window became inaccessible.
wmctrl doesn't see it too.
I attach logs of relay:
1. from the moment of clicking minimize till the end (wineserver -k)
2. from the moment of min till max (so it's part of no 1)
3. from the moment of max till kill
