the logo on top and the existing user and create new account tab buttons empty.
My main purpose of getting steam with WINE is to download Skyrim.

This morning the Linux Mint 13 (Mate desktop) automatic updater pushed an
update to wine (it is now version 1.5.18) and this update broke an installation
of
Rosetta Stone 3.4.5 that had worked perfectly before. Now it gives the
error message "An error occurred in the speech component" and audio
input doesn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Rosetta
Stone, and changing the audio input devices in wine configuration, but
this didn't help.

Screenshot of 'interrupted' panel.
This is a new, downloadable application, for which I don't believe an AppDB
page exists. (I'd like to create an AppDB page for it and be its
maintainer--once I get a result that would be useful.)
The installer downloads about 140MB of application payload (can be reduced to
about half that in an early dialog) and then proceeds to attempt installation.
After the payload has downloaded, the installer goes through a bunch of
'wizard' panels. Finally, the installer says it was interrupted. The observed
symptoms are essentially the same between WINE 1.3.24 and 1.3.25.
I plan to attach a screenshot of the panel that says the installation was
interrupted, a plain log file, and a log file with a 'msi' debug trace. I
tried tracing relay, seh, tid, and msi, but that trace file was over 700MB
while downloading was in its early stages.

I have Xubuntu 15.10, up to date.
I am able to open TrackMania United Forever 2.11.25 (full version through
steam, the one with all 7 environments).
Interface is fine, sound is fine, can enter a race, can go online, can use the
track editor. However as soon as I press any key (e.g. to try to race) the
application exits. I have an *cough*unofficial*cough* older version 2.0.8 of
the same software that runs fine and lets me race however of course this
"other" version does not go online or let me connect to my online profile.
I am running Wine 1.6.2 installed in the meta-package in the Ubuntu Software
Center.
Sorry I'm unsure what other info I can provide but happy to follow any
instructions necessary to add more logs, upgrade to a newer WINE or whatever.
Thanks in advance for any response!

This bug may be related to Bug #36692, but this one does not involve any calls
to WaitForSingleObject( ), so I am reporting it as a new bug.
A Windows 32-bit bench test, built with VC++ 2010 in Windows 7, designed to
measure the machine cycles of a wide range of low-level CPU and system
operations, reliably demonstrates that the sequence { SetEvent(h);
ResetEvent(h); } costs a minimum of about 36000 machine cycles, when run on
Wine 1.7.50 over 64-bit Linux Mint 17.2. This is an isolated single-threaded
test, without other threads involved and no contention or waiting for the event
object. It operates on a previously created Windows Event object, from an
earlier h = CreateEvent(0,1,0,0) call. The CPUs running this test include both
i7 930 and i7 980. All systems are running normally and without any observed
problems. All the other bench tests show Wine behavior to be similar and on
par with normal Windows 7 results.
The bench test operates by calling the above sequence in multiple passes of
thousands of repetitions per pass, and selects the minimum time for its
reported result. On Wine, the result for a single repetition is about 36000
machine cycles, but the exact same 32-bit binary run on 64-bit Windows 7 shows
about 1350 machine cycles for the same test. This result is highly
reproducible with very little variance in both 32-bit and 64-bit builds.
I control 100% of the C++ code running this test (one .EXE and one .DLL), but
the above result should be easy to reproduce solely from the details I have
provided here. I can provide the binary upon request. If this bug is related
to Bug #36692, the absence of any WaitForSingleObject( ) calls should make this
Bug easier to independently test and demonstrate than the #36692 prescription.
This bug fulfills the definition of a "major bug", because it most likely
adversely affects response latency in a large majority of asynchronous
event-driven processes developed for Windows (e.g. like frame-rates), and there
are no practical alternatives for avoiding this problem.

Install mono210 with winetricks. Installs fine. Optionally workaround bug 27170
by making a small exe that returns a single word for the hostname (otherwise,
when registering the device, the name will be blank and you can fill it in
manually). Make a new account/sign in with existing, then click submit. The
program will hang:
fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot
fixme:toolhelp:Heap32ListFirst : stub
fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot

fixme:advapi:SetNamedSecurityInfoW L"C:\\Prey\\config" 1 4 (nil) (nil) 0x161268
(nil)
it's doing something dotnety, here, because if I don't have mono installed,
that's when I get prompted for it. As a second guess, I installed dotnet20
instead, which works, so looks like a mono bug.
Be careful, once three activations are made on an account, it will refuse to
add more. It seems under mono the devices are added but the local device never
receives confirmation back, unless the number of devices is hit, in which case
you get an error. Logging in with a webbrowser and removing the devices lets
you test more.
So, to summarize:
With dotnet, installing and running prey works. I can add new devices, and
receive confirmation of success or failure.
With mono210 (2.10.2) / wine-1.3.20: installing and running prey works. I can
add new devices, and only receive confirmation of failure, not success.

which is not supported.
But followed hlsl fragment can be translated correctly:
(hlsl)d3d_shader:shader_trace_init def c0 = -100.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000,

The point is the diffrence between names: c783 c0. If hlsl fragment define
variables names like c783 c771 c831 etc, then tanslate must be wrong.
I think 'def c783' is just a variables name, Right? If so it should be
translate to 'const vec4 ps_lc783 = vec4...' although i don't know what's that
really means.

(In reply to Jason Mills from comment #130, Luke Horwell from comment #131)
I do not see my patch as the fix, even as a workaround fix actually. It just
effectively makes possible to see in the log what features are missing. To fix
the problem, the features must be implemented (ProcessVertices in shader mode
at the first place, maybe something else). Once again, what's happening:
1. In the original wine state (even after workarounding crash on start), no
shaders for the object can be used because none of shaders pass validation. In
this state, the game fallbacks to the default "error" shader which draws red
models. My patch fixes this. After that the things may really get worse in
terms of gameplay (e. g. models not rendering at all), because the use of real
shaders trigger some features unsupported in wine. But the log now should be
full of indication what goes wrong and it is relatively easy to see which
features are missing).
2. In my version of Sims2 limiting shader version to 2 made things better and
models began to render OK. It does not mean it will help on any Sims2
installation and any hardware. Sims2 has the shaders code in the objects
definition in the game's resources, so games of different versions or just
using different mods may behave differently. Some of those resources also have
different shaders version for different capabilities (e. g, some may support
vs_3_0 and vs_2_0, and some just vs_3_0). Besides, the game has a complicated
features setup based on graphic card and it's capabilities detection (this can
be altered manually in game's text files).
So I think the feasible way to go is to fix ProcessVertices first (it seems
that even when I limit vertex shader version to 2.0 and get models rendered OK
initially it is still used within the game effects for which I also have
glitches). After that (along with some fix or workaround for max shader
constants and for shader validator interface which are currently in my patch)
the game will either work or can be further troubleshooted for remaining
missing features in wine.

fixed.
Terminal output up until then is negligible:

fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x148438,0x148880): stub
Problem only occurs if 3d acceleration is enabled. Not an application bug, just
tested it against Windows 7, where it goes full screen.

Console output during the crash
AVRStudio 4.18 (build 716) crashes while connecting to the STK500 using COM1
port. This bug is always in effect. I have provided log that seems to link this
problem with the translation from the msxml3 to the libxml2 (v2.7.8). The crash
occurs when the "xmlDictLookup" function is called.
Way to reproduce:
- create symbolic link to the COM1 interface under Wine's "dosdevices"
directory ("ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 com1")
- run AVR Studio
- In menu select "Tools->Program AVR->Connect"
- Select "STK500" and "COM1" port
- Click "Connect..."

I was playing around with this patch yesterday on my system, and observed the
following with the base game (wine-1.8-rc2):
- A strange "rendering" pattern across the screen, depending on the angle of
the camera. Can't really describe it.
- If the camera is 'static', the rendering appears "frozen" (this occurred
even without this patch)
- Sims and animated objects are not visible, instead of flashing red.
After installing EP6 (updates base game to 2007), it got worst:
- The application silently crashes or sometimes displays "The application has
crashed and will now terminate" when trying to load a household, or the
tutorial household. On the upside, the objects can be seen textured
(previously, they were all white).
Results may vary depending on graphics card / drivers - Mine's a GTX 960 with
the latest NVIDIA driver from the Ubuntu repos. By the way, thanks swswine for
the discovery! I'd be happy to test this game further.

So, the workaround you attached; Does it basically fix the red flashing Sims,
and the fact they won't animate? If so, I could quickly try it out and make a
video "showcasing" this workaround in action. And you mentioned other issues
pop up when you interact with a house. What issues? Are they visual? or, do

Is this a real bug or something wrong in my setup? (My carefulness comes from

produce a noise.)
I separeted another three logs, if this is a real bug i could then fill bugs

Right now, the current implementation of GVFS mounts samba folders in paths
like:
/run/user/<UID>/smb-share:server=hostname,share=sharename/
Some Windows apps don't work fine with those characters in the path.
For example, if I want to install something I have in that share and I run the
`setup.exe` file from `wine explorer`, it works; but if I run it from `wine
uninstaller`, it fails saying that characters "/:<>|" are forbidden in paths.
Also, if I installed MS Excel and try to open a .xslx file from a samba share
in Nautilus (right button > open with > MS Excel), it fails saying that it
cannot find the file.
This makes the UX very uncomfortable, because the user needs to copy the file
to a local drive, edit it, and then copy it back to the network share.
Independently if Bug 34748 gets fixed or not, IMHO wine itself should do
something with Linux paths containing those characters, the same way it does
when transforming "/" to "\" or when dealing with uppercase/lowercase files.

Firefox does not show words correctly
Hi there,
We can not write any Arabic or Persian characters in Wine programs.
I have installed Firefox Windows in Wine, then see that I can not write any
word in arabic or persian language.
Firefox in Wine do not display Arabic or Persian words correctly. The alphabets
are seperate while they should be together.
- I have tested it on Opera Windows in wine and the same problem occurs.
- I have tested it on Opera Linux and Firefox Linux and everything was good.
- I have installed the necessary fonts into /~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts/
folder.
- I have installed the necessary fonts in KDE desktop.
I think there is a problem that Wine can not view UTF-8 Languages such as
Persian, Arabic.

Log (+ntoskrnl)
Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas 1.5 cannot start in Wine64 (WoW64 mode) in Linux
Mint 17.1.
Wine stops logging with error "wine client error:37: partial write 57344".
I already debugged this issue.
MTA: SA is multiplayer mod for GTA: San Andreas.
MTA contains kernel mode driver named FairplayKD.sys. MTA installs it at
startup and then sends IOCTL to it from modded gta_sa.exe process. When driver
tries to process IOCTL it fails and sets ipr->IoStatus.Status to
STATUS_NOT_IMPLEMENTED. But when Wine interprets IRP structure in ntoskrnl it
reads the status as number of bytes (which is normally passed in
IoStatus.Information field). Then Wine tries to transfer 0xC0000002
(STATUS_NOT_IMPLEMENTED) bytes to gta_sa.exe process (process which sent
IOCTL). This obliviously fails and causes "wine client error:37".
Problem is caused by invalid definition of IRP structure in wdk.h header. Its
improperly marked as packed. It does nothing in 32-bit because structure
doesn't need any padding in such architecture. In 64-bit it causes displacement
of Status field by 4 bytes.
I already created patch for this issue and going to send it. Patched Wine
1.7.53 allows me to start MTA and play normally. Newer Wine has regression in
DirectX which makes MTA unplayable.

3. Now try to delete two chars
4. As many people might be doing, I hold <shift> all this time because %PATH%

result is entering ^H instead, which you try to delete and enter another one :)
5. Now notice that shift is being held, release it and delete all that junk
using single BS key 3 times.
6. Compare behavior with windows cmd — Shift+BS is treated similarly to BS
there, as it is in bash and sh.

Avseq is an indie puzzle game using the Unity game engine. The reported problem
is fully reproducible on my system, but it happens only under certain
circumstances.
It is probably not a Nvidia bug because the crash occurs with the open source
Nouveau driver as well. It happens in Wine's full screen and virtual desktop
mode as well.
The game starts fine to the main menu and a new game can be started. A crash
occurs however, when I click on the <How to Play> menu option. Here an
animation should be played, showing how the game works, but the game freezes
instead. A bit later the game shows an error message and saves a crash.dmp file
(no Wine crash dialog or backtrace is shown).
The crash occurs only when
- the game is started in full screen mode
- the selected screen resolution matches the desktop resolution (that's
1440x900 in my case)
- high or highest detail levels are selected
Disabling multisampling in Wine registry works around the crash.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. create a new wineprefix and install the game
2. launch the game with Avseq.exe. In the launcher:
- make sure windowed option is unchecked
- select the same screen resolution as your desktop
- choose either Beautiful or Fantastic detail level and start the game
3. when the menu appears click on <How to Play>...the game crashes
Let me know if you need other logs or tests in case you can't reproduce the
problem.

Installation of Half-Life Opposing Force fails when trying to act on file
"ereg.dll". Because the installation does not finish, the game is unplayable.
The file "ereg.dll" does copy to disk though, so the installation can be
completed by manually changing the file permissions on "ereg.dll" to read/write
instead of read-only, then running the installation again.

Git bisect log
When starting the game, the screen is black, only the cursor is visible. Moving
the cursor to the lower left corner (to the now invisible exit button) and
left-clicking exits the game, so it appears that buttons work. (Sometimes the
demo version froze on bad wine versions.) Sound works.
Wine version 1.4.1 works fine. Using git bisect between wine-1.4.1 and
wine-1.7.22 indicates commit 4c4552c (4c4552c5a1910a9d5adf8eccff0ac62d89ffe376)
as first bad commit. Bug not solved in the most recent commit cf50d5f
(cf50d5f70054c9759f4da89343c0ced62e76643f). Last good commit is b8569d2
(b8569d2f3006bbb14b973eca15a608f9575a0ebd).
Compilation was done with
# ./configure && make && make install
Using CC="gcc -m32" (as suggested by http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting)
does not change the result. (I ran make distclean before changing to m32.)
I deleted the .wine directory for each version tested. I also ran winecfg
before installing the game, but didn't change any settings.
I ran the game from the command line, from the directory it was installed in.
Not changing to that directory prevented the game from starting (with error
message).
A demo version produced the same results (on last good commit, first bad commit
and most recent commit).

When in-game anti-aliasing is enabled, the game starts and loads to the main
menu, but the screen shows only garbage (leftover text/textures from the
underlying window and from previous runs). The screen never refreshes. This is
with the open source nouveau driver.
I can't test it with the binary driver, it seems the X Server shipped with
Fedora 23 is incompatible with Nvidia binary driver 340.93.
Can be reproduced with the non-Steam demo (make sure corefonts is installed
else the demo fails to start).
Anti-aliasing can be toggled on/off in the game configuration file under

Wine 1.7.33 / BOINC 7 console output
There are a number of ways to start BOINC on a system:
1. At system startup (daemon/service).
2. On its own (in a console).
3. By launching boincmgr.exe (BOINC Manager).
As of BOINC 6.x, option 3 can take around 60 seconds to "start".
In reality the BOINC client (boinc.exe) starts immediately, just as quickly as
any other way, but boincmgr.exe struggles repeatedly to connect.
However:
A. If BOINC is already running, boincmgr.exe connects instantly.
B. If a second boincmgr.exe is launched immediately after the first (giving the
few seconds for boinc.exe to start) it can connect immediately.
C. boincmgr.exe can connect to any other client without any issue.
So it's *just* when boincmgr.exe first launches boinc.exe that seems to confuse
things.

Summary: some drawing operations in Mixcraft 6 are very slow
with client-side graphics enabled
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.11
Hardware: x86
URL: http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/download.htm
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Classification: Unclassified
Regression SHA1: 33ac850c80634c891b0c157bbffa612f70954a40
According to my git bisect, this bug appeared after the following commit:
--------
winex11: Use window surfaces for rendering top-level windows.
It can be disabled by setting "ClientSideGraphics"="n".
commit: 33ac850c80634c891b0c157bbffa612f70954a40
--------
After the above commit, the following operations in Mixcraft 6 are very
slow/laggy:
1) Scrolling vertically in the track view when there are lots of tracks present
2) Scrolling horizontally in piano roll view.
3) Resizing the workspace between the top and bottom view.
4) Adjusting the knobs and sliders of certain FX plugins.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Download and setup the Mixcraft trial
(http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/download.htm).
2) If you are opening Mixcraft for the first time, it will auto-load and play a
demo project. After this happens, click the "Open Project" icon (looks like a
folder), and open "Callisteia.mx6". If it isn't showing in the file picker by
default, you can find it in: "C:\Program Files\Acoustica Mixcraft 6\Example
Projects". Go to step 4.
3) If you are opening Mixcraft after having already opened it before, it will
start instead with a "New Project" dialog. Simply click the "Browse..." button
here to find and open the file mentioned in step 2.
4) With "Callisteia.mx6" now opened, use the scrollbar to the right to scroll
up and down through all the tracks in the project.
5) Double-click on the instrument clip for track #8 (Sweet Flute). This will
bring up the clip in notation view at the bottom half of the screen. Near the
bottom-left, change Editor Type from "Notation" to "Piano Roll". Use the
scrollbar to scroll right and left in the piano roll view.
6) Position your cursor just below the playback controls near the middle of the
screen; it should turn into a resize handle. Hold down the mouse button and
move the mouse up and down to resize the split between the top and bottom
screen areas.
Result: The tests done in steps 4-6 are responsive and reasonably smooth in
Wine versions prior to the aforementioned commit. In versions after the commit,
these tests give very choppy and laggy results.
I had mentioned that some FX plugins were also choppy/laggy, but this only
affects some of the plugins that are bundled with Mixcraft Pro Studio 6, which
is not available as a free trial download. Just in case anybody wants to know,
the plugins are: FAT+, Ferox Tape Emulator, all "Mid-Side" plugins, TB Gate,
and TimeMachine. If you want to test a free plugin that exhibits the slowness,
and you know how to bring up a VST's GUI within Mixcraft, you can download
L3V3LL3R: http://www.platinumears.com/l3v3ll3r.html. Be sure to copy the .dll
file to "C:\Program Files\VST".

In Wine, if you move a MDI child window outside the borders of the main window,
you'll get scrollbars. This does not happen in Windows. This causes problems
with some applications which creates MDI child windows that occupies the entire
main window area. In this case, scroll windows appears, which obscures parts of
the MDI child. Tested with Wine as of 2007-08-23, using

It's possible, but has its own set of issues. E.g. what do you do if the game
calls ProcessVertices two times with two different shaders (shader constants)
and the same output buffer, and then draws the entire buffer with one draw
call? What happens if one of the input buffers goes away or is modified between
ProcessVertices and DrawPrimitive? The shader state, and in particular vertex
shader constants and potential vertex textures, is pretty huge. Managing this
gets complex fast...
It's probably easier to hook into
https://www.opengl.org/wiki/Transform_Feedback instead.

At the first place ProcessVertecies does not understand VertexDeclaration
output buffer specification, while sims2 wants to use them and output buffer
has zero FVF code.
I know it may sound very weird, but can't shader support in ProcessVertices be
done in a shorter way by just using application shader function in fixed
function GLSL pipeline in a way similar to how the normal application shaders
(without ProcessVertices) are used? The user shader and input buffer references
to the input buffer could be attached to the output buffer. Then VP shader code
can be used as a function when output buffer is used. Such output buffer would
be a sort of vertex shader closure :)) The Lock on such output buffer won't
work, but Sims2 does not lock these buffers (as I can see from my logs), and
overall it would be strange for the application to process vertices in its code
after requesting shader processing (if mainly for debugging purposes maybe).

Not being sure about what leads to that page fault, I've attached a debug log
with +user,+advapi,+ole just in case.
I case also provide a +all log if there's not enough infos in that log.
Tested on Ubuntu 9.04 x86 32bits.
Bug occurs with identically with both wine 1.1.37 and 1.1.34.

Absolutely. It discards all the real shaders without that. The program is
statically linked with a very old d3dx9, maybe newer versions are OK with Null
valudator even if validation is requested. This one returns the error from
d3dx9 shader linking function in this case (E_FAIL 0x80000405)

Google suggests that yes (at least windows 7, not sure about later). There are
some tricks with game configuration files discussed in the forums though. But
it is lkely mainly due to gorgeous configuration files which list all the
graphic cards they know and has plenty specific feature configuration flags.

I noticed d3dx9 trying to create a shader validator interface, but so far it
has always been happy with the NULL return and just skipped validation. Are you
sure it really needs this?

Horray. A game that actually needs ProcessVertices with shader support. This
will be pretty nasty to implement. Our ProcessVertices so far only supports
very basic fixed function operations - just transformation, no lighting
support. For shader support we'll need to be able to interpret the shader on
the CPU, or maybe we can work with one of those OpenGL feedback extensions.
The other stuff is probably RHW vertices + Shader Model 3 shaders. This should
be fixable with the fixed function vertex pipeline GLSL shader. I wonder though
if this stuff works on any modern Windows driver though. We removed the tests
that test the related functionality because we were getting broken behavior on
newer drivers. (There are plenty of differences between those old tests and
Sims 2 though. One being explicit SWVP, the other is that ProcessVertices + RHW
draw is most likely different from just an RHW draw)

Created attachment 52904
--> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=52904
Partial workaround to fix game start, models display and get a sensible trace
I eventually tried to run Sims2 and make it work under Wine. It seems to be an
interesting case of using various d3d9 features which are not implemented in
Wine yet. Shader constants limit is just the first but not the least reason. I
hope it is interesting to share what I found as actually previous discussion
does not reveal what is actually wrong with Sims2 under wine.
While I not yet succeded in making Sims2 fully work I found the major reason
why rendering did not work without any indication what's wrong or not supported
in the trace (after the trick similar to that from Comment #118). I am
attaching the patch which partially fixes rendering for me but more important
reveals actually unsupported features which the game is using. This patch by no
means can be thought as a fix proposal for anything, but lets Sims2 run and
draw models, and makes it usable for further testing and fixing.
As noted in Comment #118 here, the crash on startup can be worked around by
increasing the number of supported shader constants. The patch increases that
constant at the first place and also increases number of constants in wined3d.
Actually this workaround helps to run some other games involving 3d characters,
but not this time. After applying just this the game starts but model is
rendered in T pose and totally red (I am mainly running TS2BodyShop.exe to view
how the model renders). At the same time wine trace does not show up any
relevant problems.
The reason is that Sims2 is using some shader compilaton function from d3dx
library (which has fancy static linkage in sims2 exe files, so no way to use
builtin d3dx.dll). That function requests undocumentated interface from d3d9
through Direct3DShaderValidatorCreate9, and fails if it is not available.
Unlike some redundant constants initialization at startup, this problem does
not show up as crash or something, the game just continues running and falls
back to some most basic shaders which draw red models in T pose, without any
visible errors. My patch adds a very dumb & dirty implementation of the
undocumented validator interface which returns OK for all the requests and does
the trick, the game starts to use real shaders.
After that, if shader model 3.0 is available, the model stops rendering at all
and the trace is full of indications of unsupported features. Not fully
supported ProcessVertices implementation goes first, then a few other things
like tangent, binormal and vertex blend indices vertex attributes, and some
more. These probably should be sorted out one by one.
The last thing that the patch does is hardcoding maximum shaders version to 2
(caps->VertexShaderVersion and caps->PixelShaderVersion in wined3d/directx.c).
After that the model shows OK in model builder (with normal pose and texture).
I also started the main game in tutorial mode (I do not know how to play it),
and the model also showing OK in the beginning, but other glitches show up
quickly when doing some actions in the house (the glitches are now accompanied
by the informative trace output). So probably it is easier to fix the problems
showing up in shader 2.0 model first as it likely has less missing features. It
actually should be possible to limit shader model version within game
configuration files (the google is full of discussions on how people fixing
Sims2 on Windows through these).

Hello,
I am using Wine 1.2 with Ubuntu Maverick 2.6.32-26-generic and MS Office 2007.
When in Word, I try to open a file located on a samba share, so I click the
"Network Places" icon in Word's "Open" dialog. But then, Word freezes. I can't
open a file located on a samba share, and I have to kill Word's process.

Screenshot showing the recent documents shortcut sub-icon on Windows
The 'My Recent Documents' section of Office's File -> Open dialog does not show
the recent documents if the filter is not set to '*.*'.
To reproduce this bug:
* Start Word 2003 or 2010.
* Open a document.
* Close Word.
* Start Word again.
* Got to File -> Open -> My Recent Documents.
* BUG: The previously opened document is nowhere to be found.
* Change the 'Files of type' field from the default '*.doc...' to '*.*'
* Now the previous document is visible.
* BUG: Hovering over the document shows a filename that ends in '.LNK' whereas
on Windows it ends in '.doc'...
The fact that the full path shown for the recent files ends in '.LNK' probably
explains why they are not shown when the filter is '*.doc'. Note also that in
Wine the files don't have the shortcut sub-icon so somehow Word does now know
they are shortcuts.

The game comes bundled with it's own native msvcp71,msvcr71 libraries, the
crash occurs only when msvcr71=built-in.
The game crashes when I try to load a saved game.
Steps to reproduce the problem with the demo version:
1. install the demo, you can skip the registration steps at the end of
installation.
2. start the demo with ../bin/H5_Game.exe. Intro videos can be skipped by
pressing <Esc>.
3. in the main menu select Single Player > Campaign and start a new game.
Starting a new game shouldn't be a problem with built-in msvcr71.
4. once in the game press <Esc>, choose Save Game and perform a manual save.
5. try to load the previously saved game...a crash occurs here.

Orcs Must Die! 2 will sometimes (probably about 50% of the time) crash when the
last wave of enemies is completed instead of displaying the level completion
screen. Since each level can take 20 minutes or more to complete this is rather
frustrating.
There is no output to the console (without debug options) when the crash
occurs. There is no illegal operation notice, the game just disappears.
This has also been reported in the comments on the game's AppDB entry, back in
August 2012. I played often in October 2012 without encountering the issue,
however.

I’m trying to execute sijpv12.exe (a fiscal program from Argentina), and, when
I try to exit it, the wine crash.
I did try with wine 1.4.1, 1.7.x, and the problem is not repaired.
I did see the problem is here:
static LRESULT call_window_proc( HWND hwnd, UINT msg, WPARAM wp, LPARAM lp,
LRESULT *result, void *arg )
{
WNDPROC proc = arg;
USER_CheckNotLock();
hwnd = WIN_GetFullHandle( hwnd );
if (TRACE_ON(relay))
DPRINTF( "%04x:Call window proc %p (hwnd=%p,msg=%s,wp=%08lx,lp=%08lx)\n",
GetCurrentThreadId(), proc, hwnd, SPY_GetMsgName(msg, hwnd), wp, lp );
FIXME("%04x:Call window proc %p (hwnd=%p,msg=%s,wp=%08lx,lp=%08lx)\n",
GetCurrentThreadId(), proc, hwnd, SPY_GetMsgName(msg, hwnd), wp, lp );

here
if (TRACE_ON(relay))
DPRINTF( "%04x:Ret window proc %p (hwnd=%p,msg=%s,wp=%08lx,lp=%08lx)
retval=%08lx\n",
GetCurrentThreadId(), proc, hwnd, SPY_GetMsgName(msg, hwnd), wp, lp, *result );
return *result;
}
I did "repair" (using wine1.5), adding this to except.c:
430a431,433
> case EXCEPTION_READ_FAULT:
> TerminateProcess( GetCurrentProcess(), 1 );
> break;
This works for me, because I can complete the exit, but, is not appropiate.
To reproduce the problem:
Download siap application from:
http://www.afip.gob.ar/aplicativos/siap/archivos/siap.zip
Install It (It is a vb5 application, only next, next with default options).
Download sicoss application from:
http://www.afip.gob.ar/Aplicativos/seguridadSocial/archivos/SICOSS_39_R1-Ma…
Install It (like siap)
Start the application siap.
Add information required for business.
Select business, and click on sicoss (right, upper icon).
Add minimal information required.
Try to exit. Your program hung.
I'll send more information later, including screen shots, but this the problem.
TIA
