On a clean 32-bit prefix, after installing $ sha1sum Evernote_5.9.1.8742.exe c58652bec9ccf373cdc00c7d77f67e0b4fcb8570 Evernote_5.9.1.8742.exe the notes list is populated and the first note is selected and shown in the panel. However, changing the selected note does not change the text shown in the note panel. Other metadata like Tags, Created/Updated etc are refreshed. Not only does this mean they're invalid URLs, but also that users can't click on the links on their emails anymore, but have to copy them, type "https:" in their browser, and then paste.
