Bug ID: 39879
Summary: Microsoft Powerpoint 2013 fails to open because of
lacking memory
Product: Wine
Version: 1.6.2
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: n296869(a)rtrtr.com
Distribution: ---
Powerpoint crashes when showing startup window telling me there's is not enough
memory (ram) or system resources to start powerpoint.
Already edited VideoMemorySize in Direct3D.
i7-4700MQ and 16gb ram, 2gb Vram should not be the problem.
Would love to give you a crash report but I cannot find out how to open
powerpoint via the console...
Word and Excel 2013 start well and seem to work nicely...

Using wine-git as 1.9.23 doesn't have the patch the game needs to even launch

backtrace from minidump
This is probably a duplicate of one of the existing bugs related to Unreal4
engine games, but I can't decide which one applies: bug #40925, bug #40938 or
bug #41087.
I tried the patch from bug #40925 but it didn't change anything, even the
backtrace remained the same.
Here I'm attaching both the backtrace (obtained from the minidump file
generated by the game) and the terminal output.
The game named Kholat, I have the GOG.com version. The game crashes somewhere
during the loading stage.
I'm using a 32-bit wine build, Windows 7 profile is selected, virtual desktop
mode is activated. The game itself is 32-bit.

Summary: Stop recreating/resetting symlinks on each update (eg
"drive_c/users/[user]/My Documents")
Product: Wine
Version: 1.9.20
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: cey.tarik(a)gmail.com
Distribution: ---
Every time after updating wine through my distro's (Arch) repository, wine will
"update the configurations". This also means that wine will reset the symlinks
in the user's folder (drive_c/users/[username]). For example, "My Documents".
I do not want wine apps to pollute my home folder (this is were "My Documents"
and other symlinks usually point to). And i want all my WINEPREFIXEs to use a
common "My Documents" folder, which is not ~/ .
That's fine, so i just symlink "My Documents" to somewhere else.
But after each update Wine deletes my symlink and creates it's own symlink to
~/ again.
Why? Is that really necessary? This seems trivial to fix, so unless there is
some exotic issue preventing this to be changed, i really do not understands
why this has to happen every time.

Bug #: 32273
Summary: Might and Magic Heroes VI displays character polygons
poorly.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.17
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: xvachon(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
Might and Magic Heroes VI displays the character polygons poorly. This hinders
gameplay, because you see only part of your characters on the map or on the
battlefield. A screenshot of the paladin character in the main menu is attached
as an example.
This looks similar to a wine bug for The Witcher, see
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12771#c18 and comment 19, the screenshot
attached by Kevin Meyer. This does not seem to be a duplicate however, as the
original bug describes a bunch of graphic issues specific to The Witcher.
